Alex's POV

After I told the group about me being trans they didn't treat me any different then before.

With summer fast approaching as are finals. Kids have been filling the cafe and the library to study. I have been logging long hours of studying only stopping to get food and coffee. As has Aspen. Herc, being the mom friend of the group, has been trying to get us to take a break and rest. It never works. Aspen and I are the workaholics of the group, probably one of the reasons we are such good friends. John has been worried about me no matter how much I tell him I'm fine. I know he cares but he needs to calm down. Who needs sleep? I don't, apparently Aspen doesn't.

Currently I am studying at two in the morning and John is nagging me to go to bed, "Alex, your going to work yourself to death, come to bed, I'm worried." He whines to me.

"Why don't you nag Aspen?" I ask, not looking up from my work, "she is probably doing the same thing as me."

"I don't share a dorm with her, Peggy does." He says, "plus Peggy has her handled."

"John, I have to get this done, I can't fail the test," I say.

"Alex, you have a 4.0 GPA, you can take a break to get some sleep." He says.

"John, I-" he cuts me off.

"Alex, come to bed, now," he says sternly.

"I-" I sigh, "fine."

I walk over to our bed and he scoots over, I crawl under the covers next to him and lay down facing him.

He kisses my head, "I love you, Lex."

"I love you, too, Freckles."

The next day

John's POV

I was hanging out with my friends and sister who didn't have class that day.

"Hey where's Alex," Aspen asks. "He doesn't have class today, I know it."

"I don't know," I say. "I'll text him."

Text to Lil'Lion

AlexIsBea: hey where are you

AlexIsBea: Alex

AlexIsBea: hellooooooo

AlexIsBea: this isn't funny I'm getting worried

AlexIsBea: ALEX

AlexIsBea: ALEX ANSWER YOUR PHONE PLEASE

"He's not answering," I say, my voice laced with worry.

"Let's go look for him," says Angie helping Thomas up.

"I hope he's ok," says Nat.

We all leave my dorm to go look for Alex, "I think we should split up." Herc says.

We all agree and split up. I look everywhere I can, I suddenly get a call.

I look at the contact name and it reads Henry. My blood goes cold as I answer it.

"Hello, Jack," I shudder at the nickname.

"W-why are you calling me?" I ask.

"I wanted to thank you for sending me on that pleasant wild goose chase in France you sent me on." He says sarcastically.

"Get to the point," I say. "Are you coming after me again?"

"Accually, I'm went after things you love most," I can feel my face go pale. "Your boyfriend and your sister."
