No one spoke for what felt like forever, and then slowly, Mrs. Byun began to blink before softly saying, "Dears, do you think that's a good idea? I mean, of course I want grandchildren, but don't you think it's too soon? You just married a little over a week ago and you're already thinking about children . . .?" Mrs. Byun trailed off.

Baekhyun and Chanyeol just sat there, their happiness deflating from them as Baekhyun quietly said, "But mom . . . Chanyeol and I really want a baby. We don't want to wait."

"Baekhyun. Do you realize how much time and patience you need to raise a child? Do you know how many sleepless nights? How much money?" Mr. Byun said gently.

"Mr. Byun, with all do respect, we realize that raising a child will be hard but together . . ." Chanyeol said as he glanced at Baekhyun and gently squeezed his hand. "Together. I fully believe we're capable."

"It's not only about your capability, Chanyeol. Your lives now and in the past, you'll have to give that up. You won't be able to hang out with your friends and stay out late. Your social life will be practically non-existent," Mrs. Byun said.

"But I'm not telling you that you shouldn't adopt because I fully believe that you should. I'm tell you there will be sacrifices and that maybe you should wait. You are both so young and I don't want to see your marriage become strained by the added responsibility of a child. Do you understand what I'm telling you?" Mrs. Byun asked.

Chanyeol nodded as Baekhyun opened his mouth to speak, but Chanyeol touched his hand, the gentle gesture silencing him as Chanyeol spoke. "Thank you both. We understand what your saying and.... I–I think I agree with you," Chanyeol whispered the last part.

Baekhyun's jaw dropped, and it took him a moment to collect his thoughts. He pulled his hand away from Chanyeol as he sprung out of his chair. "What are you saying?" Baekhyun yelled. "You don't want to have a baby with me!?"

"Baekhyun! No! That is not what I'm saying at all," Chanyeol said as he reached for Baekhyun's hand. He pulled away again; Chanyeol fought back his hurt.

"All I'm saying," Chanyeol began gently, "is that we wait. Your parents are right. Although we've been together for more than a year, our marriage has just began and I don't want to mess anything up by adopting a baby so soon. Please, Baek."

Baekhyun shook his head and wiped his eyes before hoarsely replying, "I'm sorry, but I'm going home. It was nice seeing you . . ." Baekhyun directed towards his parents before he turned away and headed out of the restaurant.

His tears wouldn't stop falling as he hailed a cab and told them the address. An within twenty minutes, he was standing at the threshold cold and slightly damp from the rain, waiting for Sehun to answer the door.

It opened after another moment, Sehun was laughing and smiling, obviously talking to Luhan. His expression completely changed though when his eyes settled on Baekhyun and he immediately, without even a hint of hesitation, pulled him inside. He wrapped Baekhyun up in a tight hug as he gently murmured, "Baby brother, why are you crying? Where's Chanyeol?"

When Baekhyun didn't respond Sehun grabbed his shoulders and pushed him back as he demanded, "Baekhyun? Where's Chanyeol?"

Baekhyun just shook his head and sniffled as he muttered, "Don't worry. He's fine. I got mad at him when you were having lunch with Mom and Dad so I left . . ."

Sehun's brow furrowed and rubbed Baekhyun's back as he lead him towards the couch. He was about to ask what had happened when Luhan came into the room holding two wine glasses, his face cheerful until his eyes landed on Baekhyun.

Sehun acted quickly by taking the glasses from Luhan moments before they could shatter onto the carpet. Luhan rushed forward and threw his arms around Baekhyun as he cried, "Baekkie! What's wrong?"

Baekhyun sniffled and quietly murmured, "Chanyeol and I had a fight."

Luhan's eyes widened in surprise and he leaned back as he asked, "Seriously? You guys rarely fight. What happened?"

Baekhyun sighed. "We set up lunch with my parents under the presence of telling them about our honeymoon. But really, we wanted them to be the first to know that we were . . . going to adopt."

"Oh my god! Congratulations!" Luhan cried as he furiously hugged Baekhyun once more.

Sehun frowned though, still sensing something wrong. He grabbed Luhan's shoulder and gently pulled him off his brother as he asked, "Baek, that's not what you came here to tell us. What happened?"

Baekhyun sniffled as Luhan glanced between them confusedly. "Chanyeol said that we should....wait. Mom and Dad were telling us it was too soon and Chanyeol changed his mind to agree with them."

"It had been his idea that we adopt," Baekhyun whispered. "And he went back on it. He took it away from me . . ."

Sehun pursed his lips and tentatively reached out to rub Baekhyun's back as he softly said, "Baek. We both know Chanyeol wouldn't take something that important away from you. He had good reason to side with Mom and Dad. You need to talk to him. And I know for a fact, he is crazy worried about you right now. You need to call him."

Baekhyun sighed. "Fine . . ."
