Dead Leaves
*Jimin's POV*
The crisp cool air hit me as I was walking. No running. Struggling to catch my breath. I tried screaming but my voice was caught and left in the wind. There was no end in sight, but all I knew was that I had to get somewhere. He had to be safe. He just had to be. Bright lights. Arms failing. A bright smile. Lots of tears. This is all the glimpses I could picture. No. No. HE is safe. HE has to be safe. I dropped to my knees as I could feel myself slowly fading out of consciousness. Everything growing darker around me. I fell down and slowly closed my eyes. He's safe now. He has to be safe. I closed my eyes as I felt my body relax more.
I woke up, suddenly blinded by the light. What? I squinted and slowly got up. I looked around to take in my surroundings. Just a blank white room with a big window letting lots of sunlight in. I looked at the unknown bed questioningly. I don't remember anything or how I even got here. I barely remember my name. Jimin. Park Jimin. But what was I doing here? I frowned as I tried to recall any memories, but none came forth. Am I even sure my own name then? I looked around for even a mirror, but there was none. I sighed and got out of bed to look out the window. I brought my hand up to my face to cover the light that was beginning to blind my eyes. I looked to see if there was any landscape, but all I could manage were trees. Tall trees. I sighed before zeroing in and focusing on my reflection. Apparently I was on the shorter side, crescent brown eyes that disappear if I smile or wince, thick red-orange hair, dyed by the looks of it, slight chubby cheeks. By the looks of it, I was in pretty good shape if my abs and thighs were of any indication. I looked around the lone and dank room again and finally noticed the door. Nobody it looks like had disturbed him so far, so why not venture out? Maybe I can find out more about myself. I timidly opened the door and peeked out. All I could see was a long narrow hallway. I pulled my IV along with me as I walked. No doors. No people. No sound at all. This was beginning to get very lonely. I was beginning to wonder if maybe some kind of apocalypse happened and I was the last human to survive. That's how lonely this hallway seemed. The walls were painted a white so bright, it seemed like it was screaming at me. Lamps were hanging low casting a dim light. I walked the never ending hallway till I finally reached another big black door. I took in a deep breath and made up my resolve. I needed answers and I needed them now. Maybe they were behind this door. I put my hand on the door knob and slowly turned it, hearing the hinge slowly unclick. I softly pushed the door open and walked in. To my surprise there lay a similar room to the one I woke up in. Bed straight in the middle of the room, big window letting in lots of sunlight, nothing more nothing less. I walked in and noticed the sleeping figure in the bed. A boy. Around my age. He looked so peaceful. So serene, as he slept. He may have been a little taller than me, had rugged features that added to his handsomeness such a sharp chin and distinct jawline. Even in his curling sleeping stature, I could tell he was just as good shape as me. He had the perfect body. The body of a dancer, one could say. I cocked my head sideways while studying him. Something about him made me calm. I smiled as I let my fingers softly brush through his brown hair, gracefully pushing some aside to show his forehead. Hoseok. Jung Hoseok. I wasn't even sure how I knew that name, but somehow I was sure it belonged to the sleeping angel that was before me. I closed my eyes and smiled. Suddenly a rush of memories came flooding to me. They weren't complete, but I knew me and this "stranger" were anything but. One thing I was sure of was that I was meant to be here. I was meant to be here at this time and moment. To be here with him. To be here for him. I glanced around and saw a pillow perched against the window sill that I had not noticed before. I walked over and picked it up. I got startled when I saw the boy stir, but excited at the same time because at least now I had a friend to talk to and figure things out with.
*Author's POV*
Hoseok stirred and softly turned his body around in bed. He gently opened his eyes, taking in the bright surroundings. His memories gone, but his feelings still with him. He felt empty. He felt dark. He felt alone. Now he didn't know where we he was. He slowly got out of bed, his leg felt like jelly. His body felt like lead. He sulked around until he noticed the other boy who was in an outfit similar to his, black shorts and a white unbuttoned straight jacket. His eyes widened. "You!" Jimin smiled wide at Hoseok and hit him with a pillow. "I've been waiting for you hyung." Hoseok fell to the floor, his surprise expression never leaving his face. He looked up at Jimin. "How is this possible? How are you here?" "Stop asking questions and hit me back." Hoseok was still confused but nonetheless reached a pillow off his bed and smacked Jimin with it. Jimin laughed and fell across from Hoseok. "You're gonna get it hyung!" Jimin hit Hoseok back with a pillow, this time drawing feathers. Hoseok fell back and chuckled. "Okay you asked for this." Hoseok hit Jimin in the face with the pillow and knocked him off his face, drawing a lot more feathers that now refused to leave Jimin's hair. "Hey!" "I told you asked for it." Jimin caught Hoseok off guard and hit him hard enough to deflate his pillow completely of its feathers. Hoseok groaned and threw his pillow at Jimin defeated while he laughed at him. Hoseok chuckled along and threw his head back. Memories had slowly crept back to him. Some good, some bad, none of them complete. "Jimin?" "Yes Hyung?" "Where are we?" "I don't know." "Are the others here?" "I'm not sure, it may just be us." "Do you think things will get better?" "I hope so. Everything was broken, I hope at least now, it can at least be pieced back together." "Are we supposed to stay in this room?" "I don't know, but I hope not. It's plain and boring but at least with you here, I'm not alone." Jimin smiled widely at his hyung and embraced him deeply. "I'm sorry that you're here, but at the same time, I'm so very glad," Jimin whispered to Hoseok. Hoseok wrapped his arms around Jimin and smiled into his neck. "I made you a promise didn't I? I intended to keep it." The boys let go and smiled at each other while taking each other's hands. "Well, let's go then." "Where are we going?" "I don't know, but as long as we're together it'll be okay right?" "Aish, don't be so sappy hyung." "You are a brat to no end." "Sue me." "Don't you mean *high pitched voice* excuse me?!?!" "EXCUSE ME?!"
The boys laughed at each other's antics as they walked down the hall. "Is it supposed to get brighter?" "I think it just means we're going the right way." "I'm scared Hobi-hyung." "It'll be alright as long as we'll be together okay?" "You promise?" "I promise."
