Sneak Peek!!!
Okay. I know I'm really bad at updating regularly. But, Christmas break has given me the opportunity to update! Sadly, haven't gotten to this story yet. Don't worry, I have something even better! Remember how I said I wanted to write another story? Yeah, I figured it out! It's more focused on Piper, and yes, there will be some Jasper. Not your typical Jason-left-Piper-for-Reyna thing, because that's just so stupid and unlikely. I'm sick of it. No, it's more long distance, and how I see Jasper. I already love it! It's kind of a twist on the new series Rick is writing, The Trials of Apollo. I won't spoil my story, but how about I give you a preview of it? (Mostly the first chapter but be happy I have something for you) here you go! Oh, and don't ask what it's gonna be called. I literally got this idea like an hour ago don't rush me:
Piper's POV
You know how days seem to fly by like you can't even remember what happened at all? Yeah, well Piper hadn't had one of those in about... 3 months? Maybe 4? She lost track, her thoughts swarming with her wants and desires.
Jason had been at Camp Jupiter, building cabins. As usual. He could never give her a set time of how long he would be gone, but it seemed to get longer every time. Every minute of every day lingered by, not eager to end. Chiron wouldn't allow Piper to visit Jason, only because she would be more needed at CHB. Either way, she just missed him. Due to time differences, they rarely Iris-messaged. And with Percy and Annabeth also at Camp Jupiter, pursuing a college education, Piper really had nobody. Nico would visit occasionally, and he always said he never felt that Leo was really dead. Still, he isn't back. Hasn't made any indications he's going to come back. So, that leaves Piper spending her days alone, all the more time to ponder on Jason. Yay.
Piper started to walk towards the Big House, for a meeting. She was told all of the head councilors would be meeting for some reason, but it seemed urgent. She inched her way up the steps, hearing the creaks in between steps.
Wait. If she could hear creaks, then it must be very quiet. Too quiet. Piper was even late, so..? She rushed into the meeting place, a little on edge. She was so preoccupied with nerves she ran straight into somebody. Somebody who was tall, and definitely strong. They didn't even budge, just turned around. Piper gasped, hoping she didn't offend him. Right in front of her, standing there staring at her, was the god himself. His blonde hair was as if the sun was a human; blindingly blonde, spiky with hair gel applied. His expensive sunglasses covered his eyes, but if Piper had to guess, his eyes would be as blue as the clearest sky. His skin was almost dangerously tan but very muscular and healthy. He smiled, showing off his also perfect white, straight, breathtaking teeth. He was in a casual outfit: tight blue shirt (which did not hide anything) with some logo on it, dark American Eagle jeans, and Nike running shoes. Almost like an outfit any other camper would wear...
"Are you okay, uhh..?" Apollo gave Piper a questioning look and it took her a solid 10 seconds to stop staring at his muscles and respond.
"Pi-Piper. I'm so sorry, I'm such a clumsy person! I didn't mean to-" Apollo laughed, putting an arm around her shoulders.
"Piper, don't worry! What, you think I would kill you for bumping into me? Honestly, I would've done the same thing. And a pleasure to meet you, dear." They stared at each other for a few brief moments, until Chiron spoke up.
"Piper! We have very important matters to discuss. It involves you and Apollo. But, take a seat first." Piper's nerves were on edge, knowing this couldn't lead to anything good. She sat down, saying a silent prayer to her mother in hopes that maybe this wouldn't be as bad as anticipated.
"Over these last few years, the Roman camp and I have been noticing some... Odd things occurring. Weather patterns haven't been as they should. Our dome is supposed to protect us from any harsh weather, giving us basically summer year round. Same at Camp Jupiter. Well, the patterns have been off. It's been letting in some cold weather, and even monsters as well. Not serious ones, but still. The shield is designed to specifically block out any type of monster, and the attacks have been occurring often. Too often. We believe someone or something is trying to hack into our dome system, and we need to put an end to it immediately. So, we need to issue a quest. We consulted with the gods and they feel it's best that Apollo is made a part of this, due to his relations with other weather folks. Your quest is to travel to one of Apollo's old friends and seek guidance. Of course, if you choose to accept.." Chiron left off as if asking for her consent. He made it sound so simple as if they were going to an old teacher for math help. She had so many questions, but the stupidest one blurted out first.
"Why do you need me?" Piper knew it sounded pathetic.
"Well," Apollo piped up, "let's just say that the term 'old friend' is an overstatement. I'm going to need someone to help convince them, if necessary. And I've heard so many impressive things about you, I thought I would put these rumors to the test." Piper swallowed. Pressure much? It's not like she could refuse a god's desires, no matter what.
"If you choose to go, you will leave tomorrow morning. We need to get this resolved. But, don't think this quest sounds easy. I could have just as easily asked Drew to come, but I knew we would need your experience. A half-blood and a god together... Could get risky. Be on edge, and be aware that anything can happen. We've never issued a quest for a god and half-blood. I believe you will live up to expectations, Piper. Will you go?" Chiron said it half questioningly, half begging.
"Yeah, of course." She was not excited about this. What if Jason came back the day they left? Coincidence much?
Chiron happily smiled, and left, knowing that Piper knew how to prepare. Apollo looked at her, almost inspecting her.
"I'm glad you choose to come. Oh, and by the way, pack some warm clothes, but also some for the warmer weather- you know what. Pack for any kind of weather." Piper gave him a nervous look and asked,
"Where are we going that could have such temperamental seasons?" Apollo snickered.
"Darling, we're not going somewhere you could point out on a map. We're headed, well. Up. Above all land, seas, everything. Just straight up, up."
Sooo, what do you think? Like it? Love it? Hate it? Please tell me! I mean if nobody's gonna read it, I'm not gonna continue writing it! But I have lots planned, encounters with... Some people, flirting (mhmm), maybe some heartbreak, and much more! Comment your thoughts please, and give this chapter a vote if you would read my new story! Thanks, and I'll start working on the real update for this current story soon. Promise. :) and have a merry Christmas, too! Also, 3.53k reads!!! Holy crap!! Love y'all :))
