The Peace
Freddy's POV
It was light. All Freddy could see was light.
It wasn't white light. Just pure light. It was like the sun. It looked white, but it was just . . .
Light.
Freddy was lying down. The ground felt soft and comforting, like a mattress. It felt nice. It felt . . . peaceful. The silence seemed to fill with the illusion of music, heavenly hosts of angels singing in perfect harmonies.
The light faded a little. Just enough that Freddy could see the slight silhouette of a person. They wore a bright white robe, and the only dark that could be seen was where their skin and hair was.
"Who . . . ?" Freddy mumbled. His voice felt clean again. Not charred and raspy like it had been before. And all aches of his previous life had faded away . . .
The light faded a little more to reveal more features of the person. Long red hair, freckles, amber eyes . . .
Foxy.
"FOXY!" Freddy squealed with delight. He scrambled to his feet and dashed toward Foxy. Tears began to well up at the bottom of his eyes, his heart beating faster and faster with every powerful stride he took.
Foxy smiled and began running to Freddy as well. "Freddy! You're here!" he yelled.
They met and instantly embraced each other. "Holy crap, Foxy . . . you have no idea what we just did."
"What do you mean? I just got here," Foxy laughed.
Freddy let go and raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"I appeared here in the afterlife just a minute ago after Bonnie . . . ended my life--BONNIE! Where is she?! We need to find her, now!" Foxy grabbed Freddy's wrist and took off running. Freddy struggled to keep up, as Foxy was a fast runner.
"Wait, Foxy!" Freddy yelled with a laugh. "I need to tell you what I did."
Foxy stopped and turned around, facing Freddy. "What did you do?"
"I destroyed the surface of the world."
Foxy's eyes boggled. "You--WHAT?!"
Freddy's head hung low. "Yeah, I know it's terrible, but I mean--"
"No!" Foxy laughed. "That's great! That means that everyone on Earth should be dead, but there's only one person we know who isn't dead . . ." Foxy smirked.
Freddy smiled.
Jonathan.
"So . . ." Freddy mused. "Jonathan will suffer with loneliness for all eternity in a burning wasteland with no hope whatsoever?"
"Mhm!"
"Then let's go find Bonnie and Chica! I bet we'll see them somewhere." Freddy grabbed Foxy's wrists and ran with him. Foxy shook it away and dashed in front of Freddy, sprinting off into the endless light.

POV SWITCH TO FOXY
Foxy looked everywhere for even the slightest silhouette of two girls. He called out, "Bonnie! Chica! It's Foxy!" But they never answered.
Freddy frowned. "Maybe if we wait a little bit. We'll have to see them eventually."
Foxy nodded. "Alright. Let's sit down. The ground's real comforting."
"I know, right?" Freddy said with a laugh as he sat down. Foxy followed him down to the ground, and they each rested for a moment.
"How bad was it?" Foxy asked.
"How bad was what?"
"Earth. What did it look like?"
Freddy closed his eyes, a veil of bad memories folding over his head. "I couldn't even recognize it as Earth. The ground was completely burnt and there were tons of fires everywhere. When I finally came to, I found a human figure laying a ways away, and I realized that it was Chica."
"What did she look like?" Foxy knew he had referred to Chica as a human figure. Why not just Chica?
"Terrible. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Her skin was all burnt and melted. Her face didn't even look like her. There were a lot of places where I could see her bones." His jaw clenched. "I regret what I did to her."
"How did you guys die? Jonathan must have been there. Did he kill you?"
Freddy shook his head. "I didn't see Jonathan anywhere. Maybe I blasted him to the other side of the planet. Maybe he just hid away. I honestly have no idea."
"But how did you guys die?"
"Same as the first time I died."
Foxy raised an eyebrow. "Lava?"
Freddy nodded solemnly. "Yeah. Chica and I decided that we couldn't live in a burnt wasteland. Besides, what would you have expected us to do? Live there in pain when there had already been enough of that? Our lives on Earth were done. We . . ." Freddy's voice trailed off. His eyes widened. "My mom! She must be here! I have to find her! Mom!" Freddy stood up and called out into the endless light, over and over.
Foxy stood and put a hand on his shoulder. "Freddy, I bet she'll come when she wants to come. Just give it a moment."
Freddy sighed. "Alright, fine. What do we do until then?"
"I bet we can just chat for a bit longer."
And so they did, chatting about all the memories they had about when they began Junior High. The fights Freddy and Foxy got into, the friendships they made, and the adventures they had. They recounted entering Room 13. They recounted their adventures inside of the painting. And all of their losses. Foxy's mind buzzed as he thought of all his deceased friends that he could finally see again.
"Freddy! Foxy!" a voice called from behind the two. Foxy turned around, alert. His heart skipped a beat as he looked into the eyes of Bonnie and Chica.
"Bonnie!" he yelled. "Chica!" He sprang to his feet and dashed towards the two. "You're here!" he spluttered as he pranced toward the two girls. "You're here! You're here, you're here, you're here!"
He finally met the girls in a tight embrace, Freddy following close behind. They all held each other in a passionate group hug, Foxy and Freddy's heavy breaths mixing in.
Suddenly, Foxy felt a hand on his back. It wasn't like Freddy's, but it was smaller, more gentle. Like a child. Foxy looked over his shoulder as best as he could.
Behind him stood six young children, all aged about ten. He didn't recognize any of them, but he did recognize one.
Ben.
"Ben!" he squealed. The small boy smiled as Foxy broke from the group hug and dashed toward the small boy, breaking through the crowd of kids. "C'mere," he sputtered as he pulled the kid into a tight hug, like a parent holding their child. It felt good to be holding the same Ben they had met when they were thirteen.
He pulled away and looked down at the small kid. His wide blue eyes glimmered, a grin spread across his face. "Foxy! Bonnie! Chica! Freddy! You're all here!" Ben ran around Foxy and rushed to the other teenagers, jumping up and hugging all of them ecstatically. Foxy smiled and looked down at the other kids -- the kids he didn't recognize.
"Foxy!" one of the kids shouted happily. "I was your spirit! My name's Jeremy! It's nice to meet you face to face!"
Foxy laughed. "So you were the one with the powers inside of me?"
Jeremy nodded. "Yup! And these are my friends -- Clementine, Tyrone, Mangi, and Jed. Clementine was Bonnie's spirit. Tyrone was Freddy's spirit. Mangi was Chica's spirit, and Jed was the one trapped inside of Jonathan."
Foxy looked over at one of the kids, who he could immediately identify as Jed. He looked a little run down, his face echoing years of relentless abuse and torture. Foxy couldn't imagine what that kid had to go through.
"Well, it's nice to see you all! I bet my friends'll all be delighted to see their ghosts." Foxy turned and saw his friends chatting with Ben, talking about all their wild adventures.
Suddenly, a small silhouette began to form behind Freddy. It looked like a person -- a woman at that. Facial details began to emerge. Foxy remembered this woman. His mother.
"Freddy!" he called. The boy perked up and looked at Foxy. The ginger gestured behind Freddy, staring intently behind him. Freddy looked behind him and paused for a moment. Foxy held his breath as he watched the gaze between Freddy and his mother hold for a few seconds.
Then, Freddy sobbed and threw his arms around his mother, laughing and crying. Freddy had told Foxy about how his mother was an alcoholic when he had returned home. Now, she looked just like Freddy's mom. Normal Freddy's mom.
They whispered and chatted for a little while while Foxy got himself acquainted with the children. He got to know about how they received their powers and how their childhoods were with all that responsibility. Foxy almost felt glad that he got to spend some of his childhood with a child stuck inside of him.
Don't think of that in any wrong ways . . . Foxy thought desperately.
As Foxy looked around, peace filled his soul. His friends were all here. It seemed like only a day ago the person he loved was struggling to end his life for the better. But it was all worth it. The feeling of death washing over him wasn't a bad feeling. The second before he died, he didn't feel any pain. Everything he felt had simply faded away. Everything was peaceful. He felt that now.
One more shape emerged from the light. This one was tall and slender. It slouched a little, but from that, Foxy knew exactly who this man was. It was Fred.
Foxy immediately started running toward the man, dashing as quick as he could to meet Fred again. The last time he had seen the old man, he was bleeding out next to him. Now, he was whole again, just like the time when they all had first met him.
"Fred!" Foxy yelled with glee. He slowed down in front of the man, looking him up and down. "Oh man, I'm so glad to see you!"
Fred grinned. "Hello, Foxy. I too am very glad to see you once again. It seems as if only yesterday I was saving you and your friends' lives. Now, I guess we're here. Alas, it's a beautiful place. So peaceful. So . . . wonderful. Don't you think?"
Foxy nodded. "I do. How long will we be here?"
"Until you want to move on."
Foxy tilted his head. "Move on? How do we do that?"
"Patience. It won't be long, I can assure you." Fred stepped past Foxy and approached the others.
Chica gasped as she looked at Fred. "Fred!" she squealed. She rushed toward the man and embraced him. Bonnie perked up as well and rushed toward Fred, hugging him as well. Eventually, all the children and teenagers were gathered around Fred in a large group hug. Bonnie looked up from the group hug at Foxy, who stood on the side and observed.
"Come on!" Bonnie beckoned. Foxy smiled and rushed in. He leaned over all the kids and hugged Fred. He had to be honest with himself -- he had absolutely no idea why they were all hugging Fred. Maybe they all knew him. Foxy knew that he knew Fred.
He pulled away and looked at Bonnie, who had already pulled away. He gestured for her to approach him. She rolled her eyes and ran up to him. Foxy expected her to slow down, but instead he felt her lips on his. Her arms were wrapped around his neck. Foxy smiled, closed his eyes, and pulled her closer by the waist.
He pulled away, but only enough that they were nose to nose. He gazed into her eyes and smiled. "I love--"
"He-e-ey!" someone interrupted. Foxy and Bonnie pushed each other away quickly and saw Freddy staring the two of them down. Foxy looked to his other side and found Chica staring at the two as well.
Foxy rolled his eyes and pulled the Freddy and Chica in. Throwing his arms around as many people as his arms could find, he smiled. "I'll never forget that time in 1987."
