Jalex: We Said Forever but Forever Wouldn't Wait for Us
Summary: Alex is coming home after a year of being away. But he has a secret.
(Jack's POV)
A year finally came and Alex was coming back from his year away in California. He was making a record, but it could only be done there, so he left.
One year exactly.
I get up, my joints popping as I get out of bed. It's been a tough year being away from him. Of course, we Zoomed or FaceTimed a lot...
Especially during his first three months. But after that, he was always busy— with the album I'd assume.
I'm quick to get myself ready, not wanting to be late to him coming back.
His flight lands at 8:30 am. I was planning to be there by 8.
He should be on the plane right now, so I didn't text him good morning as I usually did. Sometimes he's answer, but other times, it would take a few hours. Time zones, I guess.
By 7:20 I'm out the door and starting the car, placing the giant stuffy alpaca and flower bouquet in the trunk.
My heart races. I'll finally be able to touch him. Hold him. Kiss him.
A year. But he's finally back.
A grin creeps up to my face as I slowly speed up the car.
I'm at the airport at 7:50. The sun glowing in the misty sky as I look up, watching planes fly in and out.
I wrap my arms around the alpaca and hold the flowers with my left hand as I shut the trunk and walk inside.
I'm met with people rushing all over the place, suitcases rolling against the tile floor. Chattering from the food court.
I find a bench and sit down.
He said he would get through customs as quickly as possible and find me once he was out.
My leg bounces as a terrifying thought creeps into my mind: what if it's awkward. We've spent time through screens... Less as time went on... But what if it was just long enough to make our relationship awkward.
I shake my head and grip the alpaca. 5 minutes.
Just 5.
I look around, watching people hurry around, all seeming to know exactly what they're doing.
I'm sitting here, wondering if I do.
Finally, 8:30 rolls around. A group of people walk out through a door, and I squint my eyes, looking for that beautiful face that I admire so dearly.
But then my heart drops to my stomach.
I see him. He's there. Holding hands with some guy.
He seems to be looking around, but my head fills with white noise. I drop the alpaca and flowers.
That's when he sees me. His hand drops from the guy and he rushes to me, smiling ever so innocently.
Part of me wants to pretend I never saw.
But the other part of me is screaming. Wanting to tear this damn alpaca apart and stomp on the flowers.
He stops by me. "Baby-"
"Who's that." I point at the guy.
Alex turns. "Oh, just a friend I met in California."
I huff, crossing my arms. "No. He's not just a friend." I curse under my breath before starting away.
He grabs my arm. "Jack, wait. He's just a-"
"Babe, who's this?"
Alex's hand drops from my arm. "Jack, it's not what you think."
The guy's jaw drops. "Fuck, I'm sorry I didn't-"
I clench my fist and let out a laugh. "I hope you're happy." With that, I turn around, walking away. An antsy feeling crawling on me as I walk towards my car.
I hope I crash.
A/N:
I'm writing this entire thing on my phone, and it took ten minutes... Perhaps I have unsolved issues haha.
Anyways, it's been a while. Hope you enjoyed!
