Off To Find A Boyfriend
Did he just...? Did Eric just save me from Raoul? I couldn't believe my eyes. This man, who I had always thought to be cruel, had the heart to rescue me. Maybe I wasting these 'villains' for granted. Jareth had only shown me kindness while I had been here, and it was obvious that he didn't want to hurt me. There was still one thing unclear about all of this. Where was Cade?
Cade was supposed to be 'my knight in shining armor' and he had run off! He was starting to look like a coward, but my search for him would still continue. So, as I made my way through the halls I felt a gentle hand be pressed on my shoulder, and I turned around to be faced with a devilish grin.
"What are you looking for precious?"
"I'm trying to find where Cade went." I answered.
"You know Sarah, " he sighed, "I don't know what you see in him."
"He's just always been there for me, Jareth. Cade cares about me so much."
"Well so do I." Jareth smiled sadly, "I would sacrifice my own life for your safety, and if you would give me a chance I would be the best to you."
"You would?" I asked him choking up.
He grasped my hand and squeezed it in his hand.
"It is certain."
I felt myself falling more and more for this man, but I couldn't possibly love him, could I? My realization hit me very quickly and soon I understood my feelings properly, but would they hold up?
"Will you please give me a chance?" His eyes pleaded to me as much as his tone did.
I smiled at him and opened my mouth to answer, but I was cut off by the sound of a high-pitched scream coming from behind us.
"Raoul! No!"
I recognized that voice, and immediately knew who it was.
"That's Christine. She needs help!"
Jareth then grabbed my arm before I could go any further, and shook his head.
"Do not interfere with Eric's belongings..."
"She does not belong to anyone but herself. No woman belongs to any man." I told him bluntly.
"But precious, that can't be true." he explained, "Because you belong to me."
I quickly ripped my arm away from him and glared.
"I don't belong to you."
"Oh but you do. You'll see soon that you most certainly do."
I turned away from him, "We'll see about that."
Instead of a cocky response from Jareth there was complete silence, so I decided to turn around and he was gone.
Perfect! Now I could rescue Christine... wait but what about Cade. They both need my help and I was being pulled both ways with these two. After thinking over it my mind thought it best to go after Cade. After all, Eric was probably caring to Christine now.
So I turned around and headed down the hallway, searching for Cade. He had to be close, because, let me just say, he isn't the fastest man in the world. I half expected him to be in the very next room, but most doors held nothing but a very boring bedroom setting to them.
My heart was racing. What if he was dead? What of he's abandoned me? No, Cade would never do that to me!
As I was lost in thought, someone tall bumped into me, and as I looked up to see who it was, I was confused.
"Sorry miss, have you seen Eric Destler around here anywhere?" said the man in front of me.
He was about as tall as Eric and wore a suit except his was more of a gray than a black. His hair was brown and a bit out of place if you ask me. The thing that marveled me most about this man though was his accent. It was strongly Persian.
"I think I last saw him going down to the dungeons." I told him pointing behind me, "Just down that way."
"Thank you..." he said, inquiring for my name.
"Sarah."
"Thank you Sarah, I hope our paths cross again." he started to walk away quickly.
"Wait!" I yelled after him.
The man quickly turned around and looked at me with a questioning look, "Yes?"
"What's your name."
"Nadir Khan." He smiled warmly before rushing off in the opposite direction.
I rolled my eyes and continued on my journey to find Cade. It seemed like the trek would take days from the progress I was making. Who knew men could be so much trouble?
Suddenly as I was wandering the halls, a trapdoor revealed itself and opened underneath me. As I fell down I could see the light slowly vanishing from the top, and that meant the door was eclipsing me in. My feet finally touched ground after a minute or so. Darkness was the only thing I could spot around me, and that made my knees quake.
"W-where am I?" I asked openly in the dark.
"At our wedding..."
