Confessions

"Let me out of the here, please Jareth." I said shakily backing away from him.

"Precious why can't you just accept our love? I know you have nothing towards Cade."

"We do have something Jareth." I snapped, "I just can't explain it."

"You can't explain it, because you two are only friends, but I won't tell the truth just yet." he sighed, "We have more pressing matters to discuss."

"Like what?" I sneered sitting down on the edge of the bed.

"Like our wedding day preparations."

"Wedding day!?"

"Yes, we need to select some items we're in need of."

I couldn't believe that this was actually happening! He has gone totally crazy! Did he really think I was going to marry him after all he had put me through?

"You're insane if you believe I'm going to willingly marry you!"

"That's why you don't have a choice!" he boomed, "So help me if you refuse I'll lock you back up in a cell!"

Fear rose from within me I had never seen Jareth so enraged. I lowered my head in defeat.

"Good girl." he smirked turning towards the door, "For your good behavior I think you deserve a treat. I'll allow you to visit one person of your choice. Who shall it..."

"Cade!" I shouted before he could finish.

Jareth rolled his eyes and exited the room. The familiar click of the door locking was apparent. The moment he was gone, my head collided with the bed pillows, and I wept like never before. A hand suddenly wrapped around me in a comforting manner. I let out a gasp but a friendly voice soothed me.

"Sarah what's wrong?"

"Oh Cade it's horrible, just horrible!" I cried and cuddled into him with my arms around him in an embrace.

"What matters is that I'm here now. You're safe, no one can harm you now."

"I've missed you so much." I told him crying into his jacket.

"I missed you too. I love you so much, Sarah."

"I love you more."

"I love you most." he said kissing my cheek, "Now what has happened?"

"Jareth is forcing me to be his queen. He won't take no for an answer."

"We have to find a way out of this together. I won't let this happen to you."

"It's too late, Cade." I told him, "Jareth always gets what he wants, and he wants me."

"Sarah, I understand Jareth. He's a lot like me in a way. Before I found you, I was in love with this woman named Naomi. My head only wanted her for myself and I became really jealous, but then I realized I was being foolish."

"So what did you do?" I questioned him.

"I let her go, and I met the real love of my life."

"Oh you..."

We pressed our lips passionately, both of us never wanting to pull apart. Our hearts were truly entwined with one another's, and we weren't going to be torn.

"I love it when you kiss me like that." Cade smiled after we had pried off of each other.

I giggled at him like a flirty school girl.

"Oh well, I better go." he said getting up and walking towards the door.

I tailed behind him and out a hand on his shoulder, and he turned around swiftly.

"Do you have to leave?" I pleaded, "I get lonely without you here."

"I'm sorry, but I have a time limit, Sarah. I'm pretty sure it's already past time."

"Ok... but please promise you won't forget me, Cade."

"I'll never forget you Sarah." he kissed the top of my hand, "Never..."

Cade disappeared, and I was left alone again. The tears were coming in fast, but I had to stay strong through all the calamity.

"Hello Sarah."

I turned around to see Meg with a tray of food in her hands. My eyes lit up almost immediately. It was great to see Meg again. She was like a friend to me, but I wondered if she knew anything about Christine. She did work for Eric at one point, so she might have some information.

"Hey Meg, how have you been doing?"

"Fine, a lot of work to do for your wedding." she said placing the try on the desk, "How are you feeling about that wedding anyway?"

"I despise it, but it's not like I have any choice."

"I'm sure you'll look stunning in a a wedding dress though!" Meg giggled.

"Maybe..." I told her, "Meg do you know a woman by the name of Christine?"

She stopped and stood stiffly. An expression of dread across her face. It was very clear she knew Christine.

"I do... she was my best friend. We were chorus girls and ballet dancers together at The Opera Populaire. It was a very careless and simple time, when we were just two lowly people in the back."

"What happened to that?" I asked, engaged in the story telling.

"Christine began to see a secret singing tutor. Her voice changed tremendously into something else... something beautifully dark. Until one day, I overheard my mother talking with a gentleman. The man wanted Christine for himself and my mother had volunteered to aid him. Unfortunately I got dragged into the situation as well. My actions were betraying Christine's trust to do Eric's wishes."

I felt sorry for Meg. Sure it was wrong to mislead your friends, but she'd most likely had no choice.

"I'm an awful person!" she sobbed.

"No you're not Meg. You had so much to lose and you didn't want to lose it."

"I could have disobeyed him!"

"Well why didn't you if you had the chance?" I questioned now very confused.

"Because I wanted to please him!"

"Why!? Why would you want to make him happy!?"

"Because I love him!"

Silence fell upon the room. Nothing stirred and we both did not speak. How complicated was this mess going to get?
