Back To Work
I DO NOT OWN PHANTOM OF THE OPERA OR LABYRINTH IT BELONGS TO THE CREATORS!
"You try my patience, Christine." I stared down at her, "I don't want to resort to force"
I really didn't. My hands were not meant to hurt my love, and I certainly was not going to hurt her now.
"Please just make this easier on us both and accept our love. I promise you that you will live in luxury with me by your side."
"These things take time, Eric." she replied.
"Then I shall wait for as long as it takes... for you."
She looked up at me sadly. There must be something I could do to make her feel better.
"Would you like to walk with me?" I asked her, "This domain has amazing gardens."
Christine nodded slowly and stood up to face me behind the bars. I opened the door cautiously and prayed she would not try to run. She took my out-streched hand and I lead her back through the catacombs in the palace.
Christine chuckled to herself while looking around.
"What?" I questioned her.
"Nothing, it's just... this reminds me of the night you revealed yourself and took me to your home."
"I remember that night. The night I was truly yours to love and hold." I sighed, "All that's missing is your voice singing to me."
Now my crazy fantasies were all behind me. She did not love me the way she did that night. My angel singing, then a wonderful sound came to me.
In sleep he sang to me
In dreams he came
That voice which calls to me
And speaks my name
Tears streamed from my eyes as Christine began to sing our song. She truly remembered.
And do I dream again?
For now I find
The phantom of the opera is there
Inside my mind
Her voice brought new inspiration and feeling into my life. How could she not realize what she does to me? I knew what came next, and I prepared my vocal chords.
Sing once again with me
Our strange duet
My power over you
Grows stronger yet
My angel's eyes seemed to sparkle as I sing to her. She was under my trance once again.
And though you turn from me
To glance behind
The phantom of the opera is there
Inside your mind
I lead her away into the music room instead of the gardens. It was a dark and candlelit room filled with every type of musical instrument ever made in the world, and Jareth had provided me with it to compose. She paid no attention though as I strode up to the piano and played a note.
"Sing."
Christine matched it perfectly as I went up in pitch.
"Sing!"
Higher and higher she went.
"Sing my angel! Sing for me!" I pushed her to go higher until she couldn't bear anymore.
Christine began to fall until I quickly caught her before she hit the ground.
"In my arms once again..." my smile was bigger than ever before.
Finally I had her right where I wanted her, and willingly too! I set her fragile form on the sofa in the room, that way she could rest in peace. Staggering towards the piano, I began to compose again, and I created a beautiful song just for her to sing. My pace was quick and time seemed to be far from my mind.
It was just barely six o' clock in the morning before I had completed it. That's when two gentle hands grasped my shoulder. I smiled gleefully because it was probably Christine awakening, but to my surprise it wasn't her. It was my acquaintance, Jareth. I snarled at him and he looked at me coldly.
"Eric I need a favor."
"What do you want?" I asked returning my attention to my sheet music.
"I need you to make me a torture chamber"
I liked the sound of this. My grin peaked immensely.
"Is this for the two fools who are after our brides?"
"Indeed it is." Jareth replied, his cold stare turning into a sly and sneaky glance, "I thought this could benefit us both."
I chuckled "Unfortunately for you, it does not. I'll make your torture chamber on one condition."
"And what would that condition be?"
"You must figure out a way that I can leave and come back between my world and yours."
Jareth groaned "You know doing what you ask of me is close to impossible!"
"I know, but so is creating a torture chamber out of what you have here." I smirked.
"Fine, but only if your chamber succeeds in doing it's job"
"Oh it will, It definitely will."
As soon as I uttered those words, Jareth was gone from my sight. A yawn interrupted the calming silence.
"Eric..."
My head turned around to see Christine getting up from the couch and walking towards me.
"Ah, you're awake. Did you sleep well?" I asked her.
"I did, thank you for asking. Did you sleep at all? You look exhausted."
She cares about my health! This was going exceptionally well!
"I did not, because I was working on a little present for you my angel."
Christine beamed and sat down next to me on the piano seat.
"What is it?"
"It's a new song. I've been composing again now that you are back with me."
"Eric, I had a wonderful night with you."
I just nodded, because my mouth had a complete loss for words. Christine was now going to return to Raoul and she would treat me as just a friend.
"Well, I should be getting you back." I told her.
She frowned "Can I please have a cell with another person? It gets quite lonely."
I couldn't put her with Raoul, but maybe Cade would suffice.
