Chapter 5: And My Answer Is...!

Well, I have to update twice since my friend did. *Sigh* But guys, that doesn't automatically mean I'll update like a day or two after daningteen8 does cause my Geometry grade is starting to drop a bit. And the only way I can bring my grade up is by studying.

Enjoy I guess.

<Alexander Seth Silverstream>

"Alex!" My dad yelled as the door slammed open. His eyes were bloodshot and he stank of alcohol. I gulped involuntary. He was drunk and it wasn't even 10:30.

"So, you're home early," I said, trying to prevent the inevitable. He snorted and stumbled into the house, his beer bottle in tow. He drank from it and glared at me.

"Well, you son of a bitch, get my dinner ready!" He shouted, throwing his beer bottle at me. The bottle crashed against the wall, but some of the shards dug into my shoulder and back, making them erupt in pain.

"Yes sir," I whispered, along a step back. My dad looked at me and came forward. He grabbed my hair and shook it.

"Who the hell do you think you are, going against me?" He hissed, raising his hand. I gulped.

"No one, sir," I said robotically. He frowned with distain and slapped me, making my cheek sting.

"Go and make me something that's worth more than you. That shouldn't be too hard considering that you're worth nothing," he said, his words slurred from the alcohol.

I nodded in response and took my leave. I winched in pain as I made macaroni. The stove heated up as I stared at box of the macaroni blankly.

The water was just about boiling when I finished reading. I sighed and focused on the task at hand. Within minutes, I finished making the macaroni and had it on a plate with a Bud Light next to it.

My father snorted when he saw the beer.

"What're do'n boy! I want my Vodka, not some dumbass Bud Light," he slurred. I got him the extra heavy one and soon he was out like a light.

I'm still thinking about that Sam did yesterday. Did he really want to ask me out on a date? Like for real?

I bit my lip as I locked the door behind my room. Sam asked me out. Sam asked me out. Sam asked me out!!! How did this even happen? I don't even know what to think.

I sat on the bed and moaned. Why does my life have to be so messed up? I don't even know why.

I sighed and closed my eyes, getting whisked into the land of dreams.

"Alex!" Someone shouted. I was running through a dark house. For some reason, I couldn't see dipshit and I was scared. The voice sounded so... familiar. Sam? The vibe from this dream told me I needed Sam, like he had become my entire lifeline, my soul, my everything.

"Sam?" I shouted, thought It sounded very faint to me. I frowned and turned around. There on, stood my father with a shotgun in his hand, a devil-like smirk on his face. I did the only sane thing: I screamed.

"Alex!" Sam shouted again. Apparently, having heard me.

"Sam!" I shouted, my voice wavering. "Help me!"

"I'm coming!" He shouted back. I looked my father I tot he eyes. He smiled evilly.

"See Ya in hell, bitch," he said.

"SAM!" I shouted again. Everything slowed down as the other person pulled the trigger.

The bullet tore through my chest and the world when black, but I could hear myself whisper something as I laid there.

"Sam, I'm so sorry."

I shot up and clutched my chest, the place where the bullet supposedly had hit. That dream...

Sam was looking for me. And it sounded like he was torn apart looking for me. Like he cared a lot for me. Maybe I was wrong about him?

I shake my head and lie back down, knowing that I needed my rest.

~Morning~

I yawned as I got up and went into the bathroom. I decide to take a long, soothing shower before I answered Sam's question. I mean it could make or break everything.

I walked downstairs and made my dad breakfast. By the time I finished, he was awake.

"I'm going a business trip for a month. If you get into trouble, I'll kill you when I get back," he warned me. I answered with a stiff, "Yes sir."

The school day was pretty bleak. The highlight of my day was in Calculus, when our teacher actually didn't give us any homework. I packed up my stuff and looked for Sam.

Well, I've never felt so nervous. I walk up to Sam and breathe in and out. I tap on his shoulder.

"Hey, Sam, can we talk?" I asked and he nodded, looking surprised. I looked at his friends the added. "Privately?"

"Uh, sure," he said following me. "My house? No one's there."

I smiled softly and nodded. He opened the door for me like a gentleman. I smiled and got in. He started the car and took us to his gigantic mansion.

He led me up to his room and closed the door. Sam smiled nervously. I set down my backpack and looked at him.

"So, do I finally get an answer to that date?" He asked, nearing me. I smiled and lean up to him, our faces centimeters apart. He smirked at this.

"I don't know," I whispered, "you tell me." With that, I leaned up and kissed him. Sam's eyes widened for a second, but soon he unfroze and put his hands onto my waist. I move my hands to encircle his neck, not breaking the kiss once.

"I'll take that as a yes," he whispered, panting when we broke apart. I nodded slightly and smiled up at him since he was about a good 3 inches taller than me. He laughed and hugged me.

"Also, my parent's are on a business trip, so the house's empty," he said. I smirked.

"Mine's too," I replied. He copied my smirked and leaned down, capturing my lips. I responded instantly and wrapped my arms around his neck.

I could get used to this.
