What's happening?
Michael POV
I rush to the hideout in search of Star hoping to be given some answers. "Star? Star?" I call frantically using the torch to look around. I eventually place it into a barrel lighting up the area slightly. I go over to a drawer and finds the bottle. I sniff it and then angrily throw it to the ground shattering it.
"I'm over here Michael." Star replies.
"What's happening to me Star?"
"Oh Michael."
"What's happening to me Star?"
"Michael, I can't tell you. I don't know how to help you."
"What's happening?"
"I can't. I can't." Star replies kissing me to distract me and it worked. One thing leads to another and I wake up the next morning laying next to her. I take the bandage off my hand and look at it in curiosity. The bite mark from Nanook is completely gone and there isn't a scratch or anything.
Upon hearing the guys approaching I throw on my shirt and jacket and quickly sneak out of the hideout. When I arrives home I find mom sitting in a chair outside sipping something from a mug probably coffee or something.
"Hi. Hay, aren't we friends anymore?"
"Sure." I reply.
"Does that mean we are? Or?" She asks taking a sip of whatever's in her cup.
"We are."
"We are. Well then lets act like friends. Let's talk. Michael take off your glasses. Michael look at me." I takes off my glasses but avoids eye contact with my mother. "If there's a girl...."
"I'm tired."
"We could talk...."
"I'm tired."
"We could talk about anything you wanted too. If there's a girl..."
"I've got more serious things on my mind then girls or school, things that..."
"That I wouldn't understand?" Mom replies. I don't reply instead I just go into the house.
"Hay, looks like I wasn't the only one who got lucky last night." Grandpa says with a slight chuckle.
"Did you take care of everything Michael?" Sam asks but I don't respond. "Michael did you find Catherine and Stacy or not?" He whispers so that Grandpa can't hear him.
"Does it look like I found them?" I whisper back irritatedly.
"How could you have not found them? This is a small town. What were you doing all night? Let me guess, you were with that girl weren't you?"
"Drop or Sam."
"Admit it, you were with that girl." Sam replies once more.
"That's none of your business."
"That's just great. My own brother cares more about some mysterious girl then his own sisters." I glare at Sam and he backs off.
"I'll find them alright? I just need some rest first."
"Maybe I should tell mom..."'
"Are you crazy? You can't tell mom that Catherine and Stacy are missing. She'll freak out. Besides, I have a theory where they maybe. I'll check it out later after I've gotten some rest."
Sam POV
Later in the day Mom and I are driving to Max's house. "What's the wine for?" I ask.
"My apology to Max for running out on him last night. Which you should be making." Mom states. "I'd better bring this up to the house or someone's just going to take it."
"I'll stay here." I reply as I open the vampire comic to see a picture of a large snarling black dog. The caption read Hellhound.
As Mom approaches the house Thorn appears. "Hello Thorn."
However, Thorn doesn't respond in a friendly manner as Mom expects. Instead he begins to snarl at her. Startled by his behavior she begins to back away. Thorn's snarling gets louder and he snaps at Mom attempting to bite her chasing her to the exit. She barely makes it over the gate as he rips her skirt. While yelling my name frantically.
Later in the day I go straight to the comic shop to tell the guys from the comic shop the details about what had happened earlier that day.
"So the dog starts chasing my mom like in Vampires everywhere." I tell the boys from the comic shop who still haven't told me their names yet.
"We've been aware that there's some very serious vampire activity in this town for a long time."
"Santa Carla has become a safe haven for the undead. As a matter of fact we are almost certain that ghouls and werewolves occupy high positions at city hall."
"Kill your brother you'll feel better."
"My Brothers not some bloodsucker. Look it says here that if you kill the head vampire then all half vampires will return to normal. Guys believe me, if my brother's a vampire he's only half."
"Does your brother know who the head vampire is?"
"No. I don't think so."
"Then you'll have to kill him and if you don't then we will."
"This all started when my mom went to work at Max's video store. Max never comes in until after dark. The dog who chased my mom this morning was his. And listen to this, vampires require a daytime protector a guardian to watch over them while they sleep.
Fierce dogs the hounds of hell are often employed for this purpose. My mom's dating the head vampire. You guys can nail him and save Santa Carla. Truth, justice and the American way triumphs thanks to you two."
"We'll check out Max."
Catherine POV
"Dewayne?"
"Yes Catherine?"
"When can Stacy and I go home? I'm sure that everyone is worried about us."
"I highly doubt that." Marco replies with a scoff and my eyes fill with tears again. At this, Marco rolls his eyes "Your such a cry baby you know that kid?"
"Shut up Marco!" Paul and Dwayne hiss at him.
"Catherine, Stacy, if you want to go home your more then welcome too, you both know where the exit is. We won't stop you but know this, leaving us will have consequences." David replies.
"What does that mean?"
David leans back against the wall and smirks. "It means that You'll be on your own. If you run into trouble like last time we won't come to your rescue."
The thought of us having to find our own way home scared me and tears filled my eyes once more. "David maybe we should bring them home. After all, the boss won't be happy if we do anything to jeopardize his plans."
"Fine whatever."
Upon arrival at the house I look up at Dwayne and Stacy looks up at Paul. "Will you and Dwayne stay with us?" Stacy asks.
Paul's eyes fill with sadness as he glances down at Stacy and shakes his head sadly. "I'm Sorry baby but We can't."
Upon hearing his answer I frown. "Why not?"
Dwayne sighs and runs his fingers through his hair. "It's complicated. You should head inside."
"I don't want too. I want to stay with you." I reply hugging him tightly and Stacy does the same with Paul.
Dwayne groans in frustration and Marco can't help but snicker. Dwayne shoots him an annoyed look. "Catherine your the one who wanted to go home. You can't have it both ways. You need to chose. It's either us or them." Marco replies.
"Marco that's not a fair choice and you know it." Paul replies.
"Yeah well, life's full of tough choices isn't it?"
"You is gonna leave us?" I reply trying to fight back tears.
"It's only for a little while." Dwayne replies with a sigh.
"But I'm gonna miss you."
"How about this, you go home and spend time with your family so they don't worry about you and we will see you later." Marco states
"Pwomise?"
"We promise."
"Otay." I reply happily as I skip towards the driveway entrance.
"Catherine where have you been? We were so worried about you." Sam says pulling me into a hug. I push away from him with an irritated look on my face.
"Whatever."
"No, not whatever. We were really worried. Michael even spent all night searching for you right Michael?" Sam states.
"Umm, yeah." Michael mutters refusing to meet my gaze. I roll my eyes because I know there no way that's not true. If it was he'd have found us.
"What were you thinking running off like that? Santa Carla is a dangerous city Catherine." Sam scolds me.
I frown. "Your not daddy so stop trying to act like it!" I hiss angrily at him then I let's out a deep yawn "I need nap." I state as I toddle towards my room. As I walk past Nanook he growls at me and my frown deepens. "Oh do shut up you dumb mutt."
"Hay, that wasn't a very nice thing to say Catherine." Sam scolds me.
Again I roll my eyes at him. "Just do me a faba and keep dat mutt way fwom Me." I reply shoving past a stunned Sam.
"What's gotten into her?" Sam asks worriedly.
Michael shrugs. "I don't know Sammy. I'll go talk to her."
