Chapter Twenty-Nine
a/n: I was watching an American Girl Movie with my little sister while writing this.
chapter question: Have you even seen an American Girl movie before?
I've seen McKenna, Saige, Grace, Kit, Chrissa, and Isabelle. Idk how many there are but I know there's more than the ones I've seen. My favorite is McKenna, which I've seen like a billion times. Tbh I don't care I'm in high school. I still like "little kid" stuff xD
This book is coming to an end soon *cries* but hey, once it ends you get that awesome Neverseen one-shot where I turn the ending into a huge team foster-keefe moment. It's going to be awesome. I've already started writing it and it's turning out awesome. Probably because I am literally going off of what is written in Neverseen though while writing some different stuff if that makes sense.
THIS IS THE LAST BOOK. There will be no third book. I was going to write one based off their future children but I just don't have the heart to drag this book on, you know? I'd rather end it on a good note where I know what I'm doing and it's all happy. There will be five, maybe one or two more, chapters and also an epilogue. So, basically I plan to end this in the next week or two.
not reread or edited.
"You should tell us the gender," Ashla said, placing some ice cream into her mouth. Everyone was at Mr. Forkle's house, trying some human food.
Sophie shook her head. "You made me wait so I'm making you wait," she told her, grinning.
"Keefe, do you know the gender?" Biana asked curiously. "I mean, technically you kept the gender of that baby from all of us, too."
Keefe rolled his eyes before nodding. "Yes, I know the gender. I was there when she found out, first of all. Second, I kinda have to know."
"Well, you don't have to know," Ashla cut in. "I mean, there are parents who wait until it's born to learn. What's the difference if you're the waiting parent and Sophie isn't?"
"Well, it's too late now," Sophie said. "He already knows."
"You haven't learned the mind erasing trick yet?" Ashla frowned. "You should."
Sophie rolled her eyes. "Only old people know that trick, I thought."
"If you trained hard enough maybe you could learn," Fitz said.
"Okay, guys. One thing at a time," she said, brushing it off. "Now, name ideas."
"Gender needs to be known," Ashla said.
"I know the gender," Biana said smugly. She looked at Sophie. "I'll give you one for both genders. In the future if you have one of an opposite sex, you can you use my other one."
"Say them," Sophie said, smiling.
"Rowan for a girl," she said. She paused. "And, uh, Kenric for a boy."
Sophie frowned. "Kenric. . . That's actually a good idea." She tilt her head. "Why Rowan? What's it mean?"
"Well, technically it's the name of a tree," she replied. "I don't know. I was just thinking... Well, humans don't have to have a reason for naming their kids, so why do we? I mean, I would be perfectly fine naming my future daughter just something that sounds really pretty without a deep meaning."
Sophie shrugged. "It is pretty. It's just. . . Rowan is a guys name."
She shook her head. "I don't believe that a name can be specifically for one gender."
"Name one guy named Biana, Ashla, or Sophie." Sophie raised her eyebrows.
"There's got to be at least one girl named Rowan out there," Biana argued.
Sophie rolled her eyes. "Yes, there are girls named Rowan. It's just. . . I don't know." She shrugged.
"Well, when it's born you'll rethink the name."
"Not really," Sophie said. "I'll be thinking of whatever names the rest say." She turned to the rest of them. "Your ideas?"
Fitz shrugged. "All we have us the name we didn't give Adela," he said. "But we're saving it in case we have another daughter one day."
"Well, I think a good name for a girl is Elka," Dex said.
"Elka?" Sophie scrunched her nose up. "I don't like it that much."
"It means noble one and I think it's pretty," he argued. "For a guy, I think Kenric is a really good idea. . . And also, for a girl. . . Rowan is really pretty," he added.
"Rowan," Sophie tested. "Eh, if it's a girl I'll use it. If it's not a girl but we ever have one in the future we'll use it."
"I get no say?" Keefe frowned.
She looked at him with an eyebrow raised. "Do you not like the name Rowan?"
"We'd be naming our daughter after a tree."
"Well, I bet it's a pretty tree," she said, frowning. "I think I've seen a picture of one before. In the winter, those trees are beautiful."
"Hey, we should all plan out our future children's names right now," Biana suggested. "That way we don't have last minute decision when all of us end up having whatever babies we might have."
"Well, Rowan and Ella for girls," Sophie said, looking at Keefe.
"Ella... Like the elephant?" He grinned.
She nodded, smiling. Biana cut in. "What happened to her?"
"We keep her on our bed," Sophie said, shrugging. "I literally still sleep with her."
"So, technically speaking, Keefe sleeps with a stuffed elephant in a Hawaiian t-shirt now?" Fitz cut in, grinning.
"Mr. Snuggles spends some great amount of time in our bed, too," Ashla said, smirking at Fitz.
"Okay, you trust someone with your secrets and they go against you," he said, shaking his head mockingly at her. He turned back to the rest of the group. "But seriously, you still sleep with her?"
Sophie shrugged. "If we ever have a girl I'm thinking maybe I can give her Ella," Sophie said, grinning.
"You do know that means no more clinging to Ella for your dear life in the middle of the night, right?" Keefe questioned, chuckling.
"I do not cling onto her when I'm sleeping," she said, glaring at him.
"Yeah, you do," he said. "And you hang halfway off the bed, too."
She rolled her eyes. "That's because you take up literally the entire bed," she told him.
"Hey, guys, back to the name picking. Lover spat can wake. Now, guys names for you two?"
"Kenric, obviously," Sophie said. She started to go into thought. "I don't know. Keefe?"
Keefe shrugged. "I've always liked the name Darius ever since I read it in that book you made me read," he said, shrugging.
A grin lit up on her face and she turned to the group. "Okay, so we have the two names for our future children plus two extras in case. Your turns," she said.
"I want Cassa for a girl," Biana said, looking at Dex. "You're fine with that, right?"
He nodded and then said, "I like Flora," he said, smiling.
Biana grinned. "Awesome. Now we need two boy names." She looked in thought. "Okay... Bruno is good."
"Like Bruno Mars?" Sophie questioned.
"Who?" Biana asked, confused.
"Sorry... Human singer." She shrugged. "You need one more boy name."
"What about Boden?" He questioned.
She nodded and turned to the group. "If it ends up not matching what you think of the baby, can we change our minds when the baby the name is going to is born?"
Sophie nodded. "Of course."
Ashla shrugged. "If we had another girl I'd like the name Mai, but Fitz is still hooked on Erela. I really like Mai. Spelled M-A-I."
"I actually have another name," Fitz said. "I like Kassya," he said.
"What's it mean?" She asked, smiling expectantly.
He shrugged. "What's wrong with just liking a name?"
"Everything," she said, laughing slightly. "My brain hurts. Can me and him skip guy names for now?" Ashla looked at the group, frowning.
They all nodded and then started to talk about the baby more.

"When are we going to tell Ashla and Fitz the gender?" Keefe asked Sophie, sitting down on the bed and laying down.
She shrugged, looking at him from her book. "I guess when we feel like it. I don't know. I think it's just so weird how good I feel making them suffer for not knowing the gender."
"We can't even tell them the name we picked out because of it," he said, laughing slightly. "It's fun to see Ashla freak out so much. She hasn't been that carefree since before she had Adela." Sophie shrugged and placed the book down on the bedside before grabbing Ella. "See, you cling to her," he said, pointing.
She rolled her eyes. "You're just jealous I love a stuffed elephant more than I love you," she teased.
He shrugged. "Not really," he said.
She frowned. "Hey, I have a question?"
He frowned when he saw hers. "What?"
"What abilities do you want our kids to have?"
He smiled. "I don't care. I don't even care if they end up not having abilities. I don't want to become my dad."
Sophie's frown grew. "You're scared to become your dad?"
"I'm not scared," he said. "I just don't want to be," he corrected. "My dad put a lot of pressure on me. I don't want to do that for our kids. If they don't have talents then I'll be fine. If hey're not smart then I'll be fine. I will be teaching them pranks," he further explained.
She sighed. "How bad do you think we're going to screw this kid up?" She questioned, laughing lightly while placing a hand on her stomach.
He shook his head with humor. "We're not going to screw the kid up. Especially you. I see you as that really good mom who's going to be strict enough that they get stuff done but cool enough to let them get away with the pranks I'll teach them."
She nodded. "I want to talk to my parents about this but I can't."
"Why?" He frowned.
"Because the parents I want to talk to are Kate and Connor. Edaline and Grady may be my parents but. . . My childhood was with the humans and my earliest memories come from that family. It's not like I'm just going to abandon my entire human like that and stop caring. Remember the spyball?"
He nodded. "Yeah, I get it. It's kind of like with my mom but not really."
"She's somewhat better now," Sophie commented. "She hasn't tried to kill anyone or anything like that since I pulled her out of her exile banishment. . . Wow. . . That was almost seven years ago." Her jaw dropped. "That's so weird."
"Well, we've been married for almost a year and a half. Before that we were together for two years. It makes sense that everything happened so quickly."
"I still remember the time when we first got our matchmaking scrolls and you were my number two," Sophie commented.
"You were my one," he said, grinning.
She grinned. "I can't wait to finally see him," she finally said resting against her pillow.
Biana suddenly appeared out of thin air and let out a shriek. "YOU'RE HAVING A BOY!?"
Sophie's eyes widened. "You fricking vanisher. . . "

extra a/n: just want to quickly take a moment to mention the fact I spent an entire thirty minutes trying to scrape a piece of dirt off the screen of my laptop. I was freaking out about it and went as far as to take a piece of toilet paper and wet that and then scrub the screen (which can't be good for the laptop).
Turns out the piece of dirt was just the bottom of a j hanging down because my scroller-thing stopped in the middle of a line. My entire life is a fricking mess xD
IT'S A BOY!!!(you guys like the names? Tell me if you hate any of them. I need to know your opinions on them for the future when I write the epilogue on what happened to all of them.)
