Chapter Twenty-Five
a/n: I was dancing and singing to Beautiful Soul by Jesse McCartney on repeat while writing this and idk why. edit: I also listened to his song Leavin' and ughhhh I have a secret (like, VERY secret) obsession with him. Like, if anyone at my school reads this and finds out I will cry in embarrassment. Funny story is one time Beautiful Soul came on during PE and I was belting out the lyrics and I didn't realize I was the only one who knew what it was and my friends were looking at me like (O.o)
Just so you guys know, I will not be updating until next year starts
chapter question #1: how corny was that?
I literally make jokes like that every time and my family is done. Some jokes include:
"Man, it feels like I haven't slept since last year."
"I haven't gone to the bathroom since last year."
"Come on! I haven't listened to this song since last year. I'm not obsessed."
"The last last time I watched that show was last year."
etc. etc. My family gets so tired.
chapter question #2: what are your 2016 goals?
My goals are to get some friends. As of this moment I am the definition of loner. I literally have no friends. Like, my mom was like "You should get your friends some Christmas presents." and I was thinking and then I was like, "No." and didn't tell her it's because I couldn't think of any to give presents too. Like, I have friends to talk to obviously. I just don't have any best friends that I would consider talking to out of school or giving Christmas presents too. My 2015 started out with having friends like that but by the end of the year we all grew apart.

"Oh my gosh, you're pregnant," Edaline said, grinning.
Sophie nodded, a smile on her face. "Yeah."
Edaline pulled her into a hug. "That's great! Oh no, I'm going to be a grandmother. . ."
Sophie let out a laugh before being pulled into a different hug from Grady. "I'm proud of you," he whispered.
She grinned. "I love you, dad."
He pulled back. "Why isn't Keefe telling us with you?" Grady asked, frowning.
"He is the father, right?" Edaline cut in.
Sophie let out a loud laugh. "Well, duh," she said. She calmed down. "I told him that I wanted to tell you guys without him so he's out there helping Fitz chase down Adela."
"Does Elwin know?" Grady asked. "I'm more than sure he'd be fine with being the baby doctor," he added.
She shook her head. "No. I'll tell him eventually, since I'm sure of that too."
She grinned. "So, let's get back to the party. I planned it which means I have to be there." They nodded and all left. Edaline and Grady both went to go talk with Alden and Sophie walked directly to Keefe. "I told them," she said.
He nodded. "So, who else should we tell?"
"Tell what?" Dex asked. He was in a conversation with Keefe when Sophie walked up to him.
She smiled at him. "So Biana didn't tell you?"
His eyes widened. "Right she told me like, yesterday." He pulled her into a hug. "Congratulations." They pulled back. "I thought you guys were waiting," he commented.
Sophie rolled her eyes. "We've been married for a year and a bunch of months. We were married before Adela was born and she's already one. When you guys announced you were finally going to get married, we decided that it was time. It's kind of funny, it started as a joke to see if I'd get pregnant before or after you guys got married because you were engaged for so long."
Dex rolled his eyes. "We were engaged for a year."
"And a bunch of months. You were engaged since Adela was three months pregnant. . . Now, let's see." She started counting. "Six months after that plus a year. . . and another month since Adela is one months older than a year and. . . You've been engaged as long as we've been married. A year and seven months."
"I love how when you guys just started going out you could say how many times you kissed at the top of your head, but when t comes to counting how long you've been married you have to stop and do the math," Dex said with a chuckle.
She rolled her eyes. "I lost count of that a long time ago."
"Around what-"
"Dex," Biana said, coming up to the group. "There you are."
He turned and grinned at her. "Hey."
She looked at Sophie and Keefe. "Hey guys," she said with a nod.
"We're going to go talk with your brother and Ashla," Sophie said, taking Keefe's hand. "We'll talk to you after." She dragged him away and they walked over to Ashla and Fitz who were sitting on a couch with Adela in between them talking.
"Adela, you can't just say that," FItz scolded.
"But Daddy-"
"Don't you Daddy me," he cut her off, making Sophie laugh. FItz looked up and rolled his eyes. "Hey guys."
"Hey," Sophie said.
"What did the stinker do now?" Keefe asked, grinning at her.
She hid behind Fitz shamefully and Ashla laughed. "She told my sister that Fitz doesn't like her and that means she doesn't like her either," Ashla said. "Totally pissed Maeve off but I gotta say, it made her Momma laugh."
Sophie let out a surprised laugh and looked at Adela. "You told your aunt that?"
She smiled. "Mommy laughed."
Ashla laughed and pulled Adela on her lap. "Okay, as funny as it was, you don't say it again, okay?" She tried to scold. A smile still hinted on her face.
"Daddy's mad at me," Adela whispered to Ashla but was still loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Your dad doesn't like the thought of people not liking him. What you said made Aunty Maeve not like him and he's just mad at that. He's not mad at you," she assured.
"I can handle people not liking me," Fitz argued with a scoff.
Ashla laughed and patted his hand. "Yeah, you keep telling yourself that." She turned to Sophie. "How you dealing with the... uh, you know?"
Sophie rolled her eyes. "It's fine. It's weird imagining it's actually happening," she said, looking at Keefe who shrugged.
"How'd you tell him?" Ashla asked, excited.
Sophie rolled her eyes. "I just told him. Nothing big."
"That's no fun," she said. She looked at Keefe. "How'd you react?"
"I just did. Nothing big," he said, using Sophie's bored tone.
"You guys are so boring," Ashla said, laughing.
"What's going on?" Adela asked, frowning at her parents. Adela looked at her. "You see Aunt Sophie?" She said, looking at Adela but pointing to Sophie. Adela nodded exaggeratedly. "You see her stomach?"
"Yeah."
"Well, there's a baby in there," Ashla explained.
Adela frowned. "How?"
Ashla patted her head. "That's a talk for another day."
___
"You know, I haven't visited you guys on medical terms for a long time," Elwin said, grinning.
"At least this time it's not because I'm hurt," Sophie reminded.
He nodded. "Of course. Okay, so just sit down." After she sat down he started to flash lights. They continued to talk about other stuff. "Well, everything looks good. You will have to start drinking two bottles of youth a day. One for each of you," he said. He took out a piece of paper and put a list of elixirs she would have to start taking that she figured were the equivalent of prenatal meds.
"Thank you, Elwin," she thanked, grinning.
He nodded. "I'll come over about once a month to check up on everything," he added. "Don't start any wars for at least the next nine months."
She rolled her eyes. "Thank you, Elwin."
He grinned and left their house. Keefe walked in. "Well, I've got to go to Kambry and Maxon's house," he told her.
She quickly kissed his cheek. "When's their wedding?" She asked, frowning. "They've been engaged longer than we've been married, I swear."
"They're fighting with Marella and Jensi for a specific date. I don't know when."
Sophie's eyes widened. "Marella and Jensi! They don't know about the baby. I should tell them." She grinned.
He rolled his eyes. "You're so excited," he said.
She frowned. "You're not?"
He shrugged. "Well, it's just that. . . He or she won't be out for another, what? Eight months. That's a long time to wait."
"You can wait almost eight years for me to finally like you back, but you can't wait eight months for our baby?" She rolled her eyes.
"The difference is with the other one I did have something to worry about rushing you. With this, I can want to rush it all I want because it's not going to do anything with what I want," he explained. "It's like you said: weird."
She rolled her eyes then her eyes widened. "Holy crap," she said.
"What?"
"We're going to be parents," she said.
He chuckled. "Sophie, you already knew this."
"No, it's. . . Like, I knew I was going to have a baby but I forgot this baby's parent is me."
He raised an eyebrow. "Sophie, that makes literally no sense."
She smacked his arm. "I accepted I have a kid. I hadn't accepted that there's going to be a kid that I have to take care of and that's going to call me Mom."
"Sophie," Keefe said in a rushed tone.
"What?" she asked in a worried tone.
"You're going to be a mom," he said in an obvious tone.
She glared. "If I didn't love you, you'd be dead by now," she told him.
He laughed and pulled her into a tight hug that she tried to escape from. "Aww, don't be like that," he teased when she finally got out of her arms.
She laughed and let him pull her into another hug quickly before he left.

ooh! one more question:
what's your favorite quote throughout the ENTIRE series. My favorite quote is from Neverseen:
Fitz door was closed, so she knocked before going in.
"I told you, Mr. Snuggle's visiting hours are over," he called through the door.
"What about your visiting hours?" she asked.
"Oh! I thought you were Keefe."
Sophie pushed open the door. "I get that a lot."
