Chapter Thirty-Four
a/n: Okay I'm NOT really sorry for not updating yesterday. At all. I usually go to sleep at like.. 1 in the morning and then wake up at 5 a.m. which is so unhealthy and yesterday I guess it all caught up to me because I fell asleep at 8:45 p.m. and woke up four minutes before leaving for school (7:39a.m.) and I almost missed my bus but it was so worth it because I haven't slept for so long since seventh grade.
Also, this week has been so hectic and I'm so happy it's ending. I have homework in all four of my classes, which is weird because usually the most I have is from two. In PE my health final exam is tomorrow so I'm going to "study" (we get to use our binders on the tests because my teacher is awesome) and I have to score at least a 90 on that. Our final exam grade is an average on if we changed for PE, our written health exam, and a 20-meter pacer. (I have to run at least 40 pacers for that to get a B- but I'm really overweight so the most I can usually do is 35 and that's when I REALLY push myself Dx)
I also have to use my head-start on my final exam for English, which is a persuasive essay. I'm writing on whether kids should be forced to join art programs or not. I said heck yeah. If I have to take PE even though I'm overweight and can't do anything, PE kids should have to take art classes even though their voice is squeaky and they can't even draw a stick figure.
I also have a test on my body parts vocab in French tomorrow (les fesses is the word for butt cheeks so y'all know)... and I need to finish my quizlet and finish my actual written homework (look up quizlet. It is like God coming straight from heaven for foreign language students who use it. It helps me in French so much.)
and in keyboarding I have some stuff I forgot to print out at school so I need to print it out at home.
So yeah... I really shouldn't be writing right now. But I am.
(side note, the reason I have four classes a day is because all my classes are by semesters and each class is 90 minutes. So I have to be active in PE for 90 minutes, sit down and listen to my English teacher talk about how much she loves grammar and her son and her dog named after the To Kill a Mockingbird author for 90 minutes, sit in a typing class that's silent for 60 minutes, go to lunch where I sit at my table for 10 minutes and eat then go to my friend's table and just stand there while I talk to her for 20 minutes, then go back to keyboarding and sit in the all-silent-but-typing class for another 30 minutes, then go to a class where I have to sit there for 90 minutes and try and understand my teacher when she speaks French and hope and pray to God she doesn't pick me to answer her questions because I usually have no idea what the hell she's trying to say.)
not reread or edited.. and I just realized the pants I wore to school today have a huge rip at THAT part o.o
edit: my dad came into the room and was like, "you were supposed to do the dishes." and I was like, "I know." and then he just stared at me typing up the chapter (and he could tell it was wattpad.) and then I was like, "I'm doing my french homework." (even though we both knew I was writing this.) and then he scoffed so I said, "I'm just taking a break that lasted from... yesterday." and then he walked away... So I'm still writing this xD
ALMOST FORGOT chapter question is just tell me a basic body part and I'll tell you the french definition because that's my way to study for my test tomorrow...
"Why did you want to go out today?" Keefe asked curiously.
She shrugged. "We're both off work at the same time for the first time in a while." They had changed their schedules where he was off during the day and he could take care of Kenric, then when she got home from Foxfire they had one hour together before Keefe had to go to work until really late at night.
"We always have weekends off together though," he said, shrugging. "I mean, I'm not complaining. You know I love-"
"I have question," she interrupted.
"Ask away," he said, making a small gesture with his hands.
"Do you think Kenric should be the only kid we ever have?" she questioned.
Keefe furrowed his eyebrows. "I'm scared to answer this question."
She smiled a little at that. "Okay... so if Kenric was the only kid we had would you be fine?"
Keefe raised an eyebrow. "I guess."
She nodded to herself. "Would you want another kid though?" she asked.
Keefe shrugged. "Either way is fine. I'm fine with Kenric in my life, he's enough, but I'd be happy with having another one. Why?"
She sighed. "Do you want another kid, yes or no?"
"Do you want another kid, yes or no?"
She sighed. "I... I just-"
"Sophie, please tell me why you're asking me this," Keefe then begged. "If you want another kid or don't want another kid, please tell me."
She bit her lip. "It doesn't matter if I want another kid or not."
He frowned. "Of course it matters if you want another kid or not," he said, looking confused.
She rolled her eyes. "You're such an idiot," she told him seriously.
"You know all the right words to say to me," he stated sarcastically.
She rolled her eyes. "No... I mean... You're such an idiot because you haven't figured it out yet."
"Figured out wh- Oh." His eyes widened. "Are you... pregnant? Like, again?"
She rolled her eyes and nodded. "Yeah," she said, smiling.
He grinned and they quickly hugged and he gave her a quick kiss. He pulled back. "Did I answer correctly?"
She rolled her eyes and nodded. "Yes, you answered correctly."
___
"Hi baby!" Sophie greeted, kissing Kenric's cheek. She took him into her arms. "Did you have fun with Julia?" He nodded, a large grin spread across his face. Sophie turned to Julia. "Was he good?" she asked.
Julia nodded, smiling. "He was great," she said. "I'm going to go home now. See you at lunch detention on Monday." She went to leave but Sophie stopped her.
"What did you do?"
"I skipped class to hang out with Caine," she stated casually. "He's really uptight about skipping classes so it was awesome that it was his idea to skip." She sighed. "But Lady Galvin caught us and gave us detention."
Sophie rolled her eyes. "Bye Julia," she said, waving.
Julia waved good bye before stepping outside the house. "So, who have you told?" Keefe asked curiously.
"Julia," Sophie stated. "It was easier this time," she explained. "I only had to tell one person and I was less nervous."
Keefe smiled. "We should tell certain people but tell them to keep it from the other. Like, you tell Fitz and I tell Ashla, but they can't tell each other."
Sophie's rolled her eyes, before nodding impressed. "That actually sounds fun." She let out a breath. "Is that bad?"
"Tell them what?" Kenric asked in a small voice. Sophie almost forgot he was propped up on her hip.
She looked at his face and smiled softly before walking over to the couch and sitting down, Keefe following suit. They placed Kenric between them and he looked at the two of them confused. "Kenric, you know how Aunty Biana and Uncle Fitz are siblings?"
"They came from the same family," he said, grinning proudly.
Sophie nodded. "Well, you know how Fitz is an older brother?" Kenric nodded. "Do you want to be an older brother?"
"How?" he asked, frowning.
Sophie rolled her eyes and Keefe stepped in. "Did you know you used to be this small?" He made a gesture with his hands.
Kenric eye's widened. "That's smaller than me."
Keefe and Sophie shared the same amused expressions before turning to look back at him. "Well for you to have a sibling Mommy and Daddy would have to have another baby around that size," Sophie explained, grinning. "Would you be okay with having a baby that small in our house?"
"Can I play with it?"
"You can do whatever you want once he or she is old enough," Sophie promised.
"I want one," he said, nodding over-exaggeratedly.
"Well, you're going to be an older brother," Keefe said grinning.
"Where is it?" Kenric asked, frowning.
"It's in Mommy's stomach," Sophie replied.
He scrunched his face up. "How'd it get in there?"
She laughed. "That's a story for another day," she said.
He frowned but nodded. "When does it come out?" he asked.
"Nine months," Keefe answered.
"Why does it take so long? Tell it to get out right now!"
Sophie laughed and rolled her eyes. "It doesn't listen to what Mommy tells it," she said.
Kenric leaned in so he was right in front of her stomach, which wasn't hard since he was really small. "You should listen to Mommy so you don't get in trouble," he whispered quietly.
Keefe let out a loud laugh. "Come on, buddy, we have to get you cleaned up. Aunty Ashla and Uncle Fitz are going to bring Adela over," he said, lifting Kenric up. "Wait," he said, stopping. "You have to give Mommy a kiss." Kenric grinned and leaned over in Keefe's arms so he could give Sophie a kiss on the cheek.
Sophie kissed his cheek and then placed a small peck on Keefe's lips. "Go get cleaned up. I'll make diner." She shooed them away.
___
"You can't, and I mean can't, tell Fitz this," Sophie said to Ashla. "He doesn't know. You can tell Dex, but not Biana."
Ashla nodded. "I got you."
Sophie nodded, smiling. "Thanks."
Ashla smiled back. "Congratulations," she called before walking over to where Fitz and Keefe were talking. Fitz automatically straightened up and gave Ashla brief look before looking back at Keefe and sighing. Sophie wanted to laugh at the scene but couldn't when Ashla looked back at her with wide eyes, jumping in place while she stood next to Fitz. Sophie gave her the thumbs up before walking over to Biana, who she Keefe had told.
"Congratulations," she whispered, leaning away from Dex.
Sophie grinned. "I'm going to have two babies before you even have one," she stated, laughing.
Biana rolled her eyes. "Dex's parents waited over ten years in their relationship to have kids. Us not having kids for like two years is not a big deal."
Sophie shrugged and nodded at the words. "That's true."
"I can't believe you guys told me before you told Dex," Biana stated, grinning. In reality, they had been told at the same time, but Biana didn't know.
Sophie nodded and took a sip of her drink to hide her smile. "Yep," she said into the cup.
"So you've told me, Fitz, your parents, Keefe's parents, Mr. Forkle, and Bronte?"
"And Sir Tiergan," Sophie added.
"Whoa, when did he come into this?" Biana frowned.
Sophie rolled her eyes. "I didn't just stop all communication with him when I finished school, you know," she said. "He doesn't like Vackers so I agreed not to invite him to my events. We talk a lot actually, though." She frowned. "Oh, and Elwin knows."
"So, Kenric is one... You only waited a year to have another? Adela is two and Ashla and Fitz are pretty much done for at least another year."
"That's because Adela is a monster," Sophie stated dully.
"Um, have you seen Kenric with his toys? My Adela's got nothing on your son," Fitz said, sitting down.
Sophie shrugged. "I can't disagree with that because I've been hit in the head more than once with a toy because I took some other toy away from him."
"You guys spoil your kids so much," Biana said. "When I have kids they're going to be spoiled but not so spoiled that when they're not being spoiled their brats."
"Did you just call my son a brat?" Sophie frowned.
"Yep." She looked at Fitz. "And your daughter is a monster."
Fitz narrowed his eyes. "No, she is not. She just has personality."
"She's going through her terrible twos," Ashla said, rolling her eyes. "She's bound to act like a monster. When she's out of that phase she'll go back to the angel that slept through the night, unlike one kid."
"Kenric wasn't that bad in the night," Keefe argued, sitting down.
Sophie scoffed. "That's because you got to sleep through it all. I'm the one who had to get up every time."
Keefe went to reply when they were cut off by Adela running into the room, Kenric attempting to follow after but he was just barely walking so he kept falling down on the way. Adela jumped onto Ashla's lap. "Mommy!" She shouted.
Ashla looked at her daughter and laughed. Her face was covered in food. "What baby?" Ashla asked.
"I have a cousin!" She yelled.
Ashla rolled her eyes. "Go back to playing with Kenric," she said, standing her up. Adela nodded and ran back to Kenric and helped him stand up. She held his hand and helped drag him to the mat where their toys were spread out. Ashla's eyes widened and she grinned. "That's so cute!" she gushed.
Sophie nodded. "I've never seen anything more adorable in my entire life," she commented, laughing.
___
the author's note above is over 600 words. Wow. I'm so sorry if you read the entire note xD
Also, I want you guys to know that I will not reveal this baby's name and/or gender until it is born. Also, please stop asking me to name it Jolie. I've already had a name picked out for it LONG ago. It will not be named Jolie, and I'm sorry about that. BUT there is a third possible child with the possible name of Jolie *wink wink*
also, after baby two is born, this book will end. Like literally it will be:
"Well, we named (him/her) ____" and then BOOM end of book.
(jk I would hate myself if I ended it that way.)
