chapter question: What's your secret obsession?

My secret obsession as of this moment is the Check Yes Juliet music video by We The Kings. I love the song and I love the music video and I definitely love the band. I don't know, I'm just obsessed with it at the moment.

If we're talking about my forever secret obsession, I have a forever obsession with Wizards of Waverly Place. I will never get over that tv show. I'm secretly still in love with it.

"Come on, we've got to be there within the next few minutes," Sophie said, glaring.

"It takes a long time to look this good," Keefe called from upstairs.

She scowled. "You look perfectly fine without trying. Can we go?"

"You have to say that, you're married to me," he said, walking down the stairs.

She rolled her eyes. "Trust me, it's not just because I married you. Ready?" He nodded. "Let's go." She grabbed his hand.

When they got to her parent's house they were immediately pulled into hugs. "Sophie! We haven't seen you in forever!" Grady said, grinning as he pulled away from her.

She laughed. "I just saw Mom last week," she said, looking at Edaline. "Didn't you tell him?"

She shrugged. "I told him. What he meant is that he hasn't seen you in forever. Though it feels like forever for me too. Seriously, it's weird not having you around all the time."

Sophie shrugged. "It feels weird not being around all the time," she stated truthfully.

"Well, come inside." Edaline motioned. Keefe and Sophie followed after Grady and Edaline, both of them holding hands.

"So, what's happened since Grady last saw you?" Edaline asked, a grin on her face.

"Oh, not much," Sophie stated truthfully.

"Well, what about you two? Anything new?" Grady grinned.

"Keefe got a job," Sophie said, confused. "That's it."

"Really? Nothing else? Man, now I owe Edaline a foot rub," he said, frowning.

Sophie let out a laugh. "Are you talking about kids?" She looked to Keefe and they both laughed. "No, we're not having any anytime soon."

"Why not?" Edaline asked curiously.

"Well, we just got married," she explained. "We decided to wait a little bit."

Grady nodded. "Good choice." He looked at Edaline then back at them. "So, what's your new job?"

"It's just one of those small jobs in Atlantis," he said. "Nothing important. Dex has the same job."

"Dex? As in my nephew, Dex? Dex Dizznee got a job that wasn't in his father's shop?" Edaline gasped.

Sophie nodded. "Yeah, surprised me too. They didn't even tell me they applied for jobs," she said, frowning at Keefe.

"Hey, it was a joke," he said, holding his arms up in defense. He turned to Edaline and Grady. "We weren't actually supposed to get hired, but we got hired anyways."

"Ah, gets the best of us?" She nodded.

"Really?"

"No," Edaline said with a laugh. "Of course you got hired. Your guys' luck is terrible. Who applies for a job as a joke? Are you that stupid?" She laughed and everyone else joined in. After a few seconds even Keefe joined in.

Keefe nodded. "Yeah, I agree," he finally said after everyone's laughs died down.

"It doesn't matter anyways. It's actually not that bad of a job," Sophie said. "I think it's cool he has stuff to do during the day."

"Yeah, but not as cool as what you do," he said, rolling his eyes.

"Training to be something I might not even be anytime soon. So much fun." She rolled her eyes.

"Ah, yes, councilor training," Grady said, nodding his head. "Edaline told me."

"You guys really have no secrets?" Sophie asked, eyes wide.

"If we were Telepaths, we'd be cognates," Grady said with a soft hum, looking at Edaline with a loving expression.

She looked back at him with a large grin. "I don't know if we're that close."

"I see nothing wrong with Telepath cognates," Sophie said immediately, frowning.

"Oh, that's right! You and Fitz almost became cognates," Grady pointed out.

"Almost," Sophie said, shrugging. She looked at Keefe. "Remember that? Man, that was a long time ago. Like, ten years ago long ago."

Keefe nodded. "It was cute."

She rolled her eyes. "Please, you were so jealous."

"Not really."

"You so were," she said, smiling. "You just won't admit it."

"I won't admit it because it's not true. I mean, if all cognates were together then there's something Alden and Quinlin need to tell us," Keefe said, grinning.

She frowned. "I forgot that they used to be cognates."

"Like basically everyone else," Keefe said, nodding.

"I'm going to go quickly grab the food. You guys keep talking," Edaline cut in, getting up to go away.

"So, other than the new job and swearing off children, what's up?" Grady asked, eyebrow raised.

"We're not swearing off children," Sophie said, rolling her eyes. "We're just not having a kids right now."

"Well, your fangirls won't appreciate this," Edaline said from the kitchen.

Sophie laughed. "What?"

"Nevermind," Grady said, waving it off. "Have you talked to Fitz and Ashla in the past week?"

Sophie nodded. "Yeah, they were just over our house yesterday. Why?"

"How's the baby? Do they know the gender?"

Keefe nodded his head. "They know the gender, but they won't tell us."

"Yeah, it sucks. It's like when an author knows what's going to happen to everyone in their book and won't tell her readers." Sophie nodded. "Especially when she leaves it off on really bad cliffhanger." Sophie scowled.

"You're saying this about a specific book, aren't you?" Grady asked.

"Yes. That book broke me," she said with a nod.

"Are you talking about that one that you finished in, like, an hour?" Keefe asked, frowning. She nodded. He looked at Grady. "She cried for the rest of the day and wouldn't even leave the bed to eat lunch or dinner," he informed, rolling his eyes. "It's not even that bad of an ending."

Sophie gasped. "Not a bad ending? Uh, hello. The love of her life is taken away and that's the end and I have to wait a full year before the next book comes out," she said, tears filling her eyes.

"It's obvious she's going to get him back and they're going to get back together and fall back in love and get married and be all happy and crap," he said.

She glared. "You have no heart."

"No, you just feel too much," he said, smiling.

She rolled her eyes. "It was a really bad ending," she said, looking at Grady.

"But really? Enough to make you not do anything for a full day?" He shook his head mockingly.

"When does the next book come out?" Keefe asked her.

"Well, how long ago did I read it?" She asked.

"You read it exactly two weeks ago," he said, nodding to himself. "Yeah, I think exactly."

She grinned. "Well, good news. It comes out in less than a year. It comes out in eleven months." her smile turned to a frown. "Yeah, never mind, I'm not happy about that."

Keefe rolled his eyes. "You're a lost cause."

She grinned. "Well, you're stuck with me."

"You two are so cute together," Grady said. They turned to look at him. His eyes widened. "Wait, did I just say that?"

"Thank you, I think," Sophie said, chuckling lightly.

"Food's ready!" Edaline caused. They all stood up and walked to the set up table. "Did you tell those two they're cute together?" She asked Grady, grinning.

He rolled his eyes. "Yeah, let's just eat."
