Chapter Fifteen
a/n: They've been married for five chapters. . . Time flies so fast *wipes fake tear*
Question: If I wrote that "Oh no! I married a nerd!" as an au for kotlc would you judge me?
I'm thinking of writing it because I think it would be hilarious. Also, remember this book because it will be brought up in this a lot because Keefe and Sophie are legit writing it.
THIS IS LIKE REALLY LONG OKAY SO LIKE... TOOK ME FOUR HOURS TO WRITE SO IF YOU NO LIKEY THIS CHAPTER I NO LIKEY YOU XD (jk I love you all)
not reread or edited because 2002 words would take way too long to reread and edit xD
"That's a terrible idea," Sophie said, dragging her suitcase behind her while pulling out the key to Mr. Forkle's house. They were going to the welcome home party although the humans at the party where made to think it's a surprise.
"Come on, just think about it," he said when she opened the door. She turned to look at him with a frown.
"No, it's just a stupid idea," she said, turning on the light as she was told to do. Everyone jumped up and shouted surprise and the two acted really surprised.
"Aww, thanks guys," she fake gushed to Biana, who rolled her eyes.
"Hey, Soph," Biana said, hugging her. "How was the honeymoon?" She asked in a whisper.
"It was okay, why?" She asked, frowning.
"Just asking. What did you guys do?"
"We started writing a book," she declared. "It's what we were talking about while walking inside. He had this really stupid idea for it." She rolled her eyes thinking about it.
"It's not a bad idea," he said, coming up behind her and wrapping an arm around her waist.
She scowled at him. "It's terrible."
"What is it?" Biana asked.
"He wants the characters to get drunk and get married in Vegas. No one except Ross and Rachel could ever really pull that off. Well, also Max and Liz from--"
"What's Vegas and why would your characters get drunk to be married there?" She frowned.
"Well, you see, it's a parody book mostly. To make fun of cliches. . . I know that's cliche but I don't know if I want my characters to do that. Especially Sophie. She's too innocent."
"You named a character after you?" Biana laughed.
"We named them all after all of us. You know, we'll tell you later when we're not at a welcome home party," Sophie changed the topic.
Biana nodded, then her eyes widened. "Oh my gosh, I forgot! There's something I need to show you." She looked at Keefe, and he left, getting the message. He started talking to Fitz and Biana dragged Sophie off to a hallway. She took a ring out of her pocket. "Me and Dex are engaged and I don't know how to tell my parents," she whispered.
Sophie's eyes widened. "Oh my gosh, he did it!" She shouted in surprise.
Biana smiled slightly. "I can't believe he actually had the guts," she responded. Then she let out a sigh. "How do I tell my parents?"
Sophie shrugged. "Do what I did for telling your parents. Slip it in a conversation casually, like you're talking about the weather. They won't even realize what you really said until after you've already ran out of there. Don't have Dex there, by the way. Poor boy couldn't propose to you without getting scared. Imagine him being there to tell your parents." Sophie laughed at the image of her best friend.
Biana laughed, nodding. "Yeah, I get you. I guess I could do this." She nodded to herself. "I got this."
Sophie watched as she walked over to her dad and started to talk to him. Sophie's eyes widened and she quickly found Dex talking to Jensi. She walked over to him and pulled him into the hallway. "Sophie? What are you doing?" He asked, confused.
"Biana's telling Alden that she's engaged to you and I'm saving you from being over there," Sophie said, looking over at the two still talking. She saw Biana quickly saying something before quickly pushing her way through the group of people and over to the hallway with Sophie and Dex. "Did you tell him?" Sophie asked, looking away from Alden.
She nodded and looked at Dex. "Hey? You want to go to your house now? I'm sure if we leave right now we can make it there before my dad makes it to this hallway."
"Oh, you babies," Sophie said with a scoff, looking back at Alden who's eyes were wide with confusion while looking around the room. Sophie quickly walked over to him. "Alden, hi," she greeted casually. "How's the party?"
He narrowed his eyes. "How long have you been aware my daughter is engaged?" He asked carefully.
"I helped Dex plan the proposal. . . I've known about their being engaged before she knew, in a way."
Alden nodded. "How long?"
"Well, they couldn't have been engaged for more than a day since I talked to Dex yesterday and he said he didn't ask yet," she explained.
He nodded. "Why did Biana run away? It's great news that she found a person on her good match list who she wants to spend the rest of her life with," he said, frowning. "And where's Dex? I want to congratulate him on getting together with the best person he could." He looked around.
Sophie waved him off. "They're hiding from you. There's actually a chance they ran off to his house because they were really scared of your reaction."
Alden frowned. "Why? I figured they'd be getting married soon anyways. I mean, after Fitz and Ashla you and Keefe were engaged really quickly. It makes sense after you two are married that they're engaged." He frowned. "Though, I'm not sure how I feel about my daughter being a Dizznee. Biana Dizznee. . . Yeah, just not feeling it."
Sophie scoffed. "It doesn't sound as bad as Sophie Sencen. The names don't go together at all but I'm stuck with the name for life and I'll get used to it eventually. It's not like I'm planning to break up with Keefe anytime soon."
"That's true. So, how's the married life for you two?" He took a sip of his lemonade.
She shrugged. "It's the same as when we were just dating except now my last name is changed and I have a new family crest," she answered simply.
He nodded. "Well, are you guys planning to start a family in the future or anything like that?" He asked, smiling.
She shrugged. "We haven't really talked about it. We don't go into the deep conversations like that often with each other." She frowned. "I don't really think I want to start a family right now, anyways. We just got married not even a week ago. Maybe in like a few months or maybe a year." She nodded to herself.
Alden grinned. "So you're not doing what Ashla and Fitz are doing?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
She frowned. "You mean how she's pregnant and I'm not going to be for a while?" Sophie tilted her head to the side. "Well, yeah. Basically."
Alden nodded. "Certain couples wait longer than others. Plus, you've got forever to have children," he assured her. "Whatever you two choose will be fine."
Sophie smiled at him. "Thanks. I'm going to go send Biana and Dex your way so you can congratulate them. I'm going to go talk to my human family." She quickly gave Alden a hug and went to go find her friends. She found them talking to her human family. She grinned and walked up to them. She turned to Dex and Biana. "You need to go face your dad," she said, directing it to Biana.
Biana sighed. "Can't it wait? You know. . . For another year?" she cringed.
Sophie rolled her eyes. "He wants to congratulate you guys, not kill Dex. You two are getting married. It's not like you're pregnant before getting married," she told Biana.
Biana let out a large sigh and turned to Dex. "You're coming with me."
Dex's eyes widened. "But. . . Ugh, fine." He let her pull him towards Alden.
Sophie turned to her human family. "Hi guys," she said.
Kate grinned. "Hi Sophie. How was your honeymoon?" She grinned.
Sophie grinned back. "It was fun. We got so bored we started writing a cheesy teen fiction novel together, though," she replied.
Kate nodded. "Ah, I see."
Sophie smiled. "So, how are you guys doing?"
Kate grinned. "We're doing great. Did you talk to Natalie?"
Sophie shook her head. "I haven't seen her all night. Why?"
"Cameron, her boyfriend, proposed to her yesterday. She said she wanted to introduce you to him. She said you guys are getting really close."
Sophie nodded. "Feels like I've known her my entire month," Sophie remarked.
"That's so nice that you guys are getting along so well," Connor said, grinning. "She's never really had a close friend. It came with being an only child. She wasn't used to having to build a strong relationship."
Sophie held back her frown and instead widened her smile. "Well, I'm glad to be her friend. She's really a great person."
Kate nodded. "She is. Oh! And about your marriage. I hope you two are really happy together."
Sophie grinned. "Well, we probably will be. I've loved him for a while now," she said, looking around the room for him to see he was walking towards her. He walked up beside her and wrapped an arm around her waist. "Hey," she said to him.
He grinned. "Hey, how long have Dex and Biana been engaged? I just overheard Fitz talking about it."
She shrugged. "Couldn't have been for more than a day," she told him. "Speaking of Fitz, I haven't talked to him. Also speaking of Fitz, have you seen Ashla?"
"Obviously Ashla is attached to Fitz's arm," Keefe responded, grinning.
She rolled her eyes. "Is Ashla showing yet? I can't wait to get a picture of when she gets her baby bump." A grin lit up on Sophie's face as she thought about it.
"Your friend, Ashla? She's pregnant? I talked to her a few minutes ago and she didn't really look it," Kate said.
Sophie nodded. "She's about. . . Three months," Sophie responded. "Her and Fitz have been married about four."
"Oh, they're married. I thought they were just seriously committed." Connor sighed in relief. "They're not wearing wedding rings," he commented.
"That's because they chose not to," Keefe explained. "He has this special thing that he wears on his shirts and she wears a special necklace with a wedding ring on it."
"Why do they do that?" Kate asked.
"I'm actually not sure," Sophie said. "It's probably because they have this obsession with being original."
"Really?" Connor asked.
Sophie nodded. "Yeah. We're like the exact opposite. . ." She looked at Keefe. "Well, I'm the exact opposite."
He rolled his eyes. "You're kidding. You know I'm not different."
"Don't make me bring up a specific little incident." She smirked.
"We promised never to talk about that happening. All five of us." He raised a warning eyebrow.
She held up her arms in defense. "Just saying."
He shrugged. "Okay, but I'm still no Fitz and Ashla."
She nodded. "Yeah, I guess."
"If you want to talk to Fitz, by the way, him and his wife are coming over here," Keefe said, nodding towards the two people walking over.
"Hey guys!" Ashla cheered, hugging them both. "It's nice to have you guys back home."
Sophie grinned while Fitz gave her a quick hug. "It's nice to be back home. I haven't been away from since. . . Black Swan." She looked in thought. "Well, unless you count the Elite Towers but even in those you still see your friends." She frowned.
"Where did you say you guys were from, again?" Kate frowned.
"Wisconsin." Sophie's eyes widened. "I mean, Michigan. But Keefe's family is in Wisconsin and crap." She resisted the urge to slap herself in the face.
"What is with all these weird names? Black Swan, Elite Towers. . . " Connor frowned at her in confusion.
"It's in this specific city we lived in. Our school was very. . . Weird and it was a private boarding school. We called the dorms the Elite Towers. There was this club called the Black Swan. . . You know." She bit her lip.
"That sounds like a great school. What's the name?"
"Foxfire," Fitz answered.
"Foxfire?" Kate asked.
"Foxfire," Sophie declared. "A private school named after a fungus." She watched Fitz cringe. "It doesn't have a website because it's more of a really private school, if you know what I mean. Like, entrance by association."
"It's highly exclusive is what she means and only the best and brightest minds of. . . Michigan make it in there," Ashla said.
"Michigan. . . " Kate trailed off.
Sophie let out a sigh. "Michigan."
