I wake up my ears ringing loudly and skull throbbing like a bass player.  I  groan and sit up then I'm suddenly struck by the mother of all headaches. I felt like someone had tried to cave in my skull with a bat. I wanted to wait for the pain to pass completely, but I knew had to find Bill, quickly. I took my hands from my face and my heart skipped to beat, my skin was made of bark and my fingers and feet were roots. I felt my face I had no ears;or nose. I felt the top of my head running a gnarled hand through my hair. It felt ..... prickly? I pluck a strand out to examine it, it's a pine needle. 

I sighed aloud, why of all things did I have to be a pine tree? I search my surroundings, I was in between to large buildings that seemed to never end. The sky was split between night, day, evening, and dawn, there were bubbles of pure madness floating around and a number of different demons prowling the street .

So this is the second dimension? I started walking through the streets most demons payed no mind to me, and those that did looked at me briefly before going back to what they were doing. There were a few storefronts around, some sold various body parts of creatures (to use or eat). Some were items I could not begin to describe, I was not sure if they were weapons or devices, or useless junk, food or whatever they sold here in the second dimension. 

 I tried to keep my eyes on the string that wrapped around my wrist and follow it through the crowd. Controlling myself was the hardest thing to do; especially since I knew I was so close, but not wanting to attract any trouble I stayed at a slow pace. The demons did not see the string running through the streets, and the string it seemed to faze through them.

Eventually the string led me to the foot of a floating pyramid, there seemed to be no way up and although I looked like a demon but I had no powers. Suddenly the ground beneath me shook and the piece of earth I was standing on began to float and take me up. I try desperately to keep my balance putting my arms out as the floating ground wobbled before finally stabilizing. I breathed a sigh of relief as I was taken to the entrance of Bill's palace. It looked exactly the same as before. I lept off the platform which crumbled as soon as I got off, I looked through the doorway and instantly my breath hitched. 

Bill sat on a throne, not made of humans this time but rather other demons all frozen in pure horror. I would have been intimidated if I had been anyone else but Bill. The triangle demon narrowed his eye at me menacingly, the minions in the room glaring at me as well. Bill then slammed his fist on the throne shaking the room, causing a cacophony of surprised screeches from his minions. I took a step back before stumbling and landing on the floor with a heavy thud, winding myself in the process.  

"YoU! If this!" I have pointed to the string that connected us.

"Is some sort of joke, it's not funny!" Bill hovered over me growing in size.

"TeLL Me WHo YoU ARe aND WhY You PuT THIs EncHanTed StRIng On Me!" 

"Bill? ..." Was all I could say the shock of the moment rendering me speechless. I sit up as Bill stared at me in confusion, He shrunk in size seeming rather annoyed. 

"Yeah, yeah I know Bill Cipher king of the second dimension, yadah yadah Now tell me who you are and why did you put this spell on me!"

"Bill, i..it's me ... Dipper" Bill went completely still, we stared at each other the silence becoming increasingly tense. To me it was as if time had slowed down as we both were ensnared by the moment. I stand up slowly and take a step closer, Bill was staring at me in pure shock.

"Pinetree?" I nod tears forming in my eyes as I pull Bill into the biggest hug I could manage. Bill returns the hug as I kiss his triangle head. Bill was crying now too hugging me tightly like he thought I'd disappear at any moment

"I missed you ... so much" I whispered as my tears subsided, I could feel Bill transform as a pair of arms wrapped themselves around me and my face was buried in his shoulder. I look up and smile as his amber eyes stared into my own.  

"I missed you too" He began to kiss me all over my bark face, making me blush and giggle. Bill stops lifting me in the air and kissing me passionately this time. I kiss him back pouring my heart and soul into it, as an image flashed in my mind that made me freeze. I dreamed of having these moments between us in the past, only for it to end with me screaming as the memory of watching him die replayed. Every night for months, during that time I'd barely slept and avoided sleeping or even napping. It took me so long to get rid of that image, and yet looking at Bill now it was all I could see. 

"Pintree, why are you crying to love?" I began to cry more hanging onto his neck, my hands holding on to him tightly. Bill rubs my back as my hiccups and sobs resides, I tilts my chin upwards to meet his gaze.

"Whats the matter?" He asks,  I  shake my head smiling as I wipe  tears from my face. 

"We'll talk about it later, but we have to go" I say taking his hand in mine and leading Bill to the entrance.

"Go? Go where?" Bill asked 

"Back home, to Gravity Falls" Bill rips his hand from mine. I stagger from the sudden motion nearly falling down again, I regain my balance and turn around confused.

"Dipper .... this is my home now" He muttered. 

"What do you mean? After you tried so hard to take over my world?" Bill could not meet my eyes.

"The only reason I wanted your world was for my people. Ever since I found another world for me and my people to live, I realized there was no reason to return to earth" Bill said he motioned for his minions to leave. The minions slipped out the room and somehow looked almost relieved? 

I gave Bill a pained smile, was I not enough of a reason to return? Or even to find a way to contact me and say he was alive? It's been a year and all that time Bill let me believe that he was gone. Suddenly a suppressed well of anger began to boil, I clenched my shaking hands as sudden anger and sorrow washed through me.

"You let me think you were dead .... I mourned you for months ..... and you never even bothered to try and tell me" Dipper's voice became strained as he fought to hold in tears.

"I thought you'd move on, I was convinced you'd be better off if you did" Bill sighed rubbing his arm. Dipper grabs Bill yanking him forward and kissing him again with force

"I do not want to move on, I want you, that's why I came here" Dipper growled holding onto Bill and staring into his eyes. 

"Dipper we can't .... You know tha-" 

"Do not give me that bullshit!" I snapped loudly, Bill flinched but said nothing. 

"I do not want to hear excuses, I want to be honest with me. I want to know, do you still love me?" Bill hesitates at my question, but bites his lip and nods in response.

"I couldn't get you out of my mind" Bill whispered  sheepishly, I stroke his cheek lovingly in response. Bill nuzzled my hand smiling covering my hand with his own and kissing my palm gently. 

"I do want to be with you Pinetree, but I can't just up and leave. Just because we have a new place to live does not mean there isn't things left to do......But, would there be any harm in visiting earth temporarily? " Bill grins and I Light up with excitement.

"Really?" I grinned like a Cheshire cat , Bill nods beaming 

"Sure, I will not stay but I'll come visit" He joins our hands together rubbing circles on the back of my hand. 

"I'd like that" I said as I squeezed his hand. 

"I just need to do one thing first" Bill puts two fingers in his mouth and whistled, a demon walked in and bowed to Bill. 

"Tell the others I had some important business to attend to, so they are in charge of the place until I return" The demon nodded evaporating into smoke.

"Shall we go?" Bill asks me, I start grinning again. We left for the entrance when I felt Bill shape shift  behind me. A pair of clawed hands lifted me onto a furry back as Bill stretched his dark leather wings and took flight. I clutched onto the fir of his back tightly and he didn't seem to mind.

"So where to?" Bill asks, I quickly retrace my steps and see the two buildings where I woke up. 

"There"I point Bill in the direction, Bill looks then proceed to dive. More memories began to replay in my mind, and I became filled with fear. I pulled on the handful of hairs harshly my knuckles white , making Bill growl but I was to focused on not falling off to apologize. Bill landed gracefully, but I was shaking so much from the shock and adrenaline that Bill had to put me on the ground before shape shifting back to his human form.

"Pintree you okay?" Bill puts his hand on my shoulder making me visibly tense, I take a deep breath and force myself to relax. 

"Yeah..I'm fine" I started searching for the portal, as my hand went through the side of the building I knew I'd found it. Bill came to my side our hands intertwining.

"You ready?" Bill asked, I nod. So we walk through the portal together the gold string finally disappearing.
