Chapter 16 - Sophie
Sorry it's taken so long, I've been quite sick so... you can't blame me. Anyways here it is.
Recap:
Fitz has just invited Keefe and Sophie over to his to apologise for his terrible actions. Dex and Marella are together and are going to call Keefe.
Sophie
"Do you, are you okay to come? You don't have to, I understand if you don't want to." Keefe shakes his head and looks at me as he says,
"No Foster, it's okay, I just hope nothing goes... wrong." I know the feeling. I really do this time. I don't think I can prepare myself for what's going to come because it literally could go anyway.
"When should we go, I don't mingle if we don't go now." I say this filling in the silence, it wasn't uncomfortable silence, it was just silence.
"I ready whenever your ready, just let me do one thing fist," he says this and leans closer to me, my heart switched to hummingbird mode and I freeze slightly. He leans so close his lips are only a whisper away from mine and... and... he hugs me. I hug him back. His body is so warm against mine and I relax in his arms. We hug for more then a moment then me lean back. I look at him and see his beautiful ice blue eyes staring right back at me.
"We should probably go now. Is that okay." He says and I break eye contact.
"Yeah. Okay lets go. Leap or teleport?"
"Foster, Foster, Foster, it's like you don't even know me. To the cliff!" I roll my eyes at his childishness. How could I resist him. I take his hand and pull him towards there.
"Okay, three, two," then someone else comes up and grabs my hand, Sandor and Ro takes Keefe's. Of course, "one." We jump, we don't scream anymore. We're to used to it, somehow I think Keefe has done this nearly as much as myself.
We land inside the gates and see Fitz waiting near the doors.
"Sophie, Keefe," he says as he jogs over. He stops and continues. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to be a jerk and I just... I'm jealous." I was happy but I couldn't exactly believe one thing.
"What are you jealous about?" Keefe turned away from me and Fitz bit his lip and turned to Keefe.
"Keefe, you gotta do it sometime. She's clueless right now, she can't even realise why I'm jealous." I tug out an eyelash. Fitz looks at Keefe and he nods. Fitz left without a word leaving Keefe and I standing outside Everglen.
"Sophie," I could tell he was being serious because he called me 'Sophie'. I'm worried about what he's going to tell me. "I have to tell you something that I've been meaning to say for a while. Sophie I—" he's cut off by my imparter beeping. I reach for it in my pocket. Dex. Really. Keefe looks at me and nods.
"It could be important. Answer it, it's okay."
I look up at his eyes and get lost... a moment later I remind myself to answer the hail. I swipe my fingers over it and Dex and Marella pop up in the screen.
"Hi, what's up?" I manage to squeak out.
"Hi Sophie, just wanted to check up in you." Dex says flashing me his dimples.
"Is Keefe with you?" Marella interrupted, "oh and are you at Everglen?"
"Yep," Keefe answers for me, answering both questions in one.
"Oh," Dex says. "How's Fitz..."
"Oh he's fine, a little heartbroken but he'll get over it." Ro says making Keefe and I jump. "Oh you forgot I here, also your welcome for controlling the Grumpy Goblin."
I look up in dread and see Sandor looking at me, if he was a cartoon character there would be steam coming out of his eyes. "Yes Sophie, we will talk about this later. Again." I groan and look away.
"Ooh, why is he going to talk to you guys? Did you do something—" Marella says, you can see that she's about to burst into laughter, a cheeky glint in her eyes show it.
"Marella no." I say sternly. Then I hear Grady call out to Alden in the distance.
"Hello Alden, so nice to finally catch up, we have much to discuss."
"Oh no, guys I gotta go before Grady has to 'talk' to me again. Bye." They say goodbye and I turn to Keefe, "I wasn't lying. Grady's gonna kill me if he finds me with you. Can we catch up tomorrow? I could come to yours," I cringe at the thought of Lord Cassius. "We could go walking somewhere or something away from the house?" Keefe smirks at my awkwardness.
"Of course Foster. We'll talk then. I can't wait. It's a date Foster." He says the last part quietly so Grady doesn't hear. Of course I blush at this. Of course.
"Bye Keefe." With that I leap back to Havenfield, back home, even if he's not here with me.
I am so so so sorry readers. I've been so busy and just haven't written. Anyway I promise I'll stop my lousy writing schedule. Have fun all of you and please comment, vote and follow me. Thanks.
