"This is my cousin... Miguel..."

IN HONOR OF ME ACCIDENTALLY ALWAYS MAKING TEEN WOLF REFERENCES, I HAVE GOOGLED A BUNCH AND THIS CHAPTER WILL BE PACKED WITH THEM SO BUCKLE YOUR SEAT BELTS
"Today, you are all going to have to find out how far you are willing to go to stop a war."
I narrowed my eyes at the group of vampires in front of me, Jasper at my side. I was running this training session, and it was one of the last one's before the Volturi would be here. "They have weapons that we don't, and people with abilities that we don't. But today, I am going to teach you all how to bypass those threats."
A large hand rose from the crowd, and I rolled my eyes, nodding at Emmett. "Yeah?"
"Are you sure you are qualified for this?"
"No."
The face of many vamps in front of me deflated, and Emmett rose his eyebrows in confusion. "What do you mean, 'no'?"
"I mean no, wanna hear it in Spanish? Noh!"
Emmett jumped slightly, and I inhaled, rubbing my hands over my face, and deciding that I shouldn't scare these poor people too much. "I have a lot of experience with ignoring things, and with being strong. Those are my qualifications, and they are going to have to be good enough." I looked around, my eyes raking over every pair of both golden and ruby eyes in the crowd. "I hope we don't have to fight, but if we do, we will have to kill people... to death."
Jasper's eyebrows furrowed, but he didn't say anything as I continued my speech.
"We are going to have to work together... to protect Renesmee, which, I know, is a bad name, but she is still my niece and I don't want her to be fried."
Clara busted into laughter, but coughed once and went silent at the look Bella gave her. Carlisle was inside, busied with some foreign vamps who decided to crash our party, so he put me in charge of testing out Bella's shield, because she needs to be able to work without thinking about it. Lucky for her, I am excellent at not thinking.
"So, what we are going to do is -sneak attack!" I spun on my heel, launching my unopened pocket knife at my sister, who squeaked in surprise and held up her hands. To both my pleasure and surprise, the knife hit was seemed to be a wall, and clanked uselessly to the ground. I grinned, clapping my hands together. "Good job, Bella!"
"What the hell, Courtney?" My sister and her husband yelled at the exact same time, an almost identical expression of aghast on their faces. "Jesus Christ, you could have killed me!"
"But I didn't!" I winked at my sister, holding out my hand as Clara scooped up the knife and tossed it back to me. I shoved it in the pocket of my jeans, clearing my throat. "Anyway, we just have to hope that Sadie and Alice pull through with what Bella said they were going to do-"
"They're bringing help."
"They're bringing help!" I pointed to my sister. "Yes, thank you Bella! They are supposedly getting help for us, which would be great! As of right now... everyone show me what you can do."
So that is exactly what we did. The vampire's came up to be one by one and demonstrated what they could do. I especially enjoyed Benjamin, who put on a rather magnificent show with his element manipulation. Seriously, he summoned a ball of fire to his hand, and I told him that he looked like someone from the Avengers... it was impressive.
"You've never watched the Avengers?" I exclaimed incredulously, and Benjamin grinned.
"I swear, if we make it back alive, I'll watch the movies."
"You better!"
Kate was less polite than Benjamin, as she wordlessly walked up to me and grasped my hand, a sharp shot of pain shooting up my arm. I jumped, "Ow!"
Jasper rested his hand on my shoulder, glaring at the blonde in front of us. "Was that necessary, Kate?"
"She's part human," the girl shot back, her lips curling over her teeth. Her entire face was fixed in a sneer, but she literally looked like a goddamn model. "She shouldn't even be here."
I paused at the silence, clearing my throat awkwardly. This girl was obviously a bitch, that much is obvious. "I guess this is the part where I say something witty."
We locked eyes, and I smiled back, making sure that she saw my now scary teeth, "I'm not witty. Next!"
Tanya was nicer to me, as she smiled and gave me a hug. I knew she didn't like Bella that much, and was slightly glad that I wasn't hated by association, since that has earned me more than enough vampire-enemies. "Courtney! It is so good to see you, how are you?"
"A little bummed about being a fugitive, but other than that, I'm great!" I smiled at her musical laugh, although it only reminded me of Alice, which made me sad all over again. I tried to remind myself that her and Sadie would be fine. They would be fine, they would come back here, and they would get married... just as planned.
"This will go well... Carlisle is wise."
"He is."
I looked over to where the groups were gathering, Bella's eyes closed in concentration as a translucent veil of protection spiked to life in front of her. The shield is one of the biggest protection details we have. I know I am trying to be all light... but I am terrified.
Bella is my family, therefore so is Nessie. I gave up so much for this life, and now that I am here, I can't loose anyone else. I want the picture-perfect life that I day dream about, with Jasper, and Bela, and Alice, and Sadie... heck, even Clara. The girl may be a slight pain in the butt, but she deserves happiness just as much as anyone else here, and I hope that is something I can grant her...
I hope we can win.

"Do you think we can do it?"
The previously dead silent room was broken as I spoke. My voice didn't break like I wish it would, it stayed stubbornly smooth. We were laying in the bed we didn't need, wrapped in each others arms as we both mulled over what tomorrow would bring.
"Do you think we can win?"
Jasper kissed my forehead, his touch lingering as his cold knuckles traced patterns across my jawline. "I think we can convince them that Nessie isn't a threat. I think that we can get this over with, and go back to our lives."
"Is that a yes?"
"Yes."
I sighed, inhaling his scent as I buried my head into his chest. I felt the un-spill-able tears flood my eyes, and took a deep breath. "I just... I don't want it all to go away."
Jasper snaked his arm over so he could run his fingers through my hair, the simple action calming me more than I care to admit. "It won't. I know because I have a whole future planned out with you, and some Italian assholes can't take that away."
"Like... like what?"
"Well, we would have to get our own house. A nice one, not to big, not to small... and we could get that dog you always wanted."
I laughed lightly.
"And we can have everyone over for baseball, and holidays because lets be honest, Esme deserves a break... I would get to listen to you sing in the kitchen, and we could watch movies, and have writing competitions... and arm wrestles."
I giggled again.
"And we would get to stay with our family... because that is how it was always meant to be... that;s our forever."
I smiled, relaxing to the point I was as close to sleep as I could get.
"Thank you... I look forward to it."
