"I'm a bad bitch, you can't kill me!"

"W-W-What t-t-the m-m-motherfucking-"

"Watch your language!"

I held up one freezing cold middle finger in Edward's general direction. Bella and I were both wrapped in blankets, huddled together like penguins, but the cold kept finding ways to creep into my bones. A storm crept up on us when nobody was looking, and now, I couldn't feel ninety percent of my body.

"Keep your goddamn distance." I aimed to kick at Edward. "Y-Y-Your body t-t-t-temperature isn't g-gonna h-help much."

Edward pouted, but obliged.

'If you w-wanna make yourself useful, go grab a f-f-fucking space heater or something."

"Wh-why do you always s-s-swear when you get cold?"

Before I could answer, the tent unzipped, and human-Jacob entered the tent. Edward immediately growled. Jacob flashed him a sassy-grin. "Courtney requested a space-heater... here I am!"

"Shut up!" I held up a hand before Edward could object, "get over here!"

Jacob didn't hesitate, and Bella and I moved so he could settle in between us. I immediately melted into his side, the heat radiating from the boy drawing me in. I grabbed one of his large hands, and pressed mine against it, the stinging sensation spreading through my limbs as I de-thawed.

I felt my eyes droop as the drowsiness came over me. Before I knew it, the world around me slipped away, and I fell into slumber.

I was standing in the middle of an open field, my hands clenched at my sides, and pain seeping up my arms. I shifted, but it only grew hotter, like a fire.

Wait, that is exactly what it was... a fire.

I was tied up on a tree, a short, young girl next to me, holding a torch dangerously close to my skin. But it wasn't my skin. It was cold, white skin, hard as rock. I felt stronger than I ever had, and everything around me seemed hyper-focused. From the flames by my arm, to the tree's surrounding me. i looked down, and almost screamed. I was wearing Sadie's clothes... I knew, I recognized them.

And then I saw Alice.

"I don't understand." She gasped, her eyes wide and reaching out as if she wanted to touch me, but couldn't. "I saw you, you weren't changed."

"Little miss Sadie seems to have a rather... interesting skill." the blonde girl smirked, "vampire, but can change appearance by will... quite interesting, isn't it?"

"Alice." I spoke, although I didn't mean too, and my voice didn't sound like mine. "Alice, I'm sorry, I had too-"

"Shh-" the blonde's cold, red eyes met mine, and a flash of pain so intense rolled over me, pulling a scream from my throat. Alice whimpered, looking like she wanted to cry. She couldn't, of course.

"If you want your mate back." Her lips curled back at the word, like it was venom on her tongue. "Then fetch me Courtney Swan... or else-" A sick, twisted grin came over her delicately beautiful face. "I will."

When I woke-up, I didn't speak, I just stood up. My heart was racing, fear clogging my pores and making me feel sick. Sadie turned, the blonde-bitch was gonna kill her.

"Where are you going?" Edward asked, and I made the greatest effort of clearing my mind. I could only pray that he was too preoccupied about Bella literally sleeping with Jacob to read my thoughts.

"I have to pee."

It was a simple excuse, and one most didn't question. I slipped from the tent, passed the huge, russet wolf that I knew to be Seth, and broke into a dead sprint into the cold, harsh forest.

Was this the stupidest thing I have ever done? Yes. Was I turning into Bella by making a life-changing decision based off of a dream? Yes. Am I going to stop? No.

My feet skid on the frozen ground, but I just lashed out my hands and kept going. I haven't run like this since we were in Arizona, and I had to go to the dance-studio. I felt the same, my heart and head alike were pounding, my breathing wasn't even something I was aware of, and a adrenaline buzzed in my veins like some kind of alcohol.

The next thing I knew, I had been tackled to the ground, and my head glanced off a rock. I barely felt it at first, but blood seeped through my hair. The red-headed vampire grinned down at me, her red-eyes glittering with blood-lust. I gasped, pure terror gripped my heart, and in that moment, I had no idea what to do.

I scrambled to my feet, the red drops on the snow making my heart skip a beat. Blood... vampires.

Oh no.

"Hi, Courtney." Victoria greeted me like we were old friends. She took a step to the side, and I winced, bringing my hand to my head as a trickle of pain seeped through. I'm going to die. This isn't supposed to happen. "It's been a long time since I have seen you."

"Get away from me." I took a shaky step back until my back hit the stiff trunk of a tree... but it wasn't.

I screamed, jumping back when another vampire materialized behind me. I was trapped.

They'll hear that. They'll come.

The blood-sucker behind me couldn't be more than my age. With golden hair, and shiny red eyes. I recognized him, from posters in my dad's house.

"Riley Biers."

"I hear you know Sadie." He grinned wickedly, taking a step forward, making me take one back. I was in the middle of a sandwich of death. "She's a nice girl."

"What did you do to her?" I hissed, my voice low. Come on. I silently willed. Come on, Edward, Jasper, someone.

"Turned her myself." He bragged, raising a hand to his chest. Anger rose in my throat like bile. He was proud. He killed my best friend, and he's proud.

"You sick, bastard." A small shiver ran through my body, and I don't think it was from the cold. "You... suck."

I was too scared to think of a better word, okay!

His eyes seemed to flash, trained on my head. Blood. They won't be able to help themselves. Eventually they'll give in, they'll kill me. Kill me and drink my blood. I was going to die. Against my own will, a tear slipped past my eyes, and my knees lowered to the ground. I closed my eyes, bringing my arms up to cover my neck and face. They were gonna kill me, I was ready.

For the first time in her life. Courtney Swan gave up.

I'm sorry.

Before either of them had the chance to pounce, a feral growl cut through the forest, and then Riley Biers went flying.

Victoria and I alike perked up, and then Edward came.

He dropped down from a tree, right behind Victoria. A small wolf snarled at Riley, and I gasped. "Seth?"

"Go!" I turned, seeing my sister standing off to the side. "Run!"

I nodded, slipping my pocket knife out of my... well, pocket, and throwing it in Bella's general direction, before breaking out in a sprint. My head pounded, and blood dripped down my face, but I didn't stop.

I bushed past a bramble of bushes, and emerged into the clearing. A huge fire was blazing off to the side, and there were no newborns in sight. Most of the wolves were still in their animal form, and I managed to spot another speck of fire, right by the tree that Alice had dropped out of when she was training. A body was strung up on the trunk, a small gathering in front.

I was right.

I don't know how I did this, I thought Vampires were supposed to be smart, but I came up right behind the blonde girl near the tree.

And body checked her.

Literally. I came up behind, angled my shoulder, and rammed into her back, managing to knock her off her small feet. I was met with an array of shouting, stumbling, but staying on my feet. The entirety of the Cullen family were gathered in front of me.

And they looked terrified.

Makes sense, I was standing there, blood running down my face, breathing heavily, and with an angry twelve year old immortal staring me down. She looked pissed off. But so was I.

"You bitch." I muttered, the words sending spikes of both pain and nausea through my body. The blonde surged forward, pinning me against the tree, opposite Sadie, with her hand wrapped firmly around my neck.

The screams of the Cullen's seemed to fall to deaf ears, as I was suddenly very aware of the blood surging through my ears. A sour feeling jumped to my mouth, and my chest felt like it was lit on fire. The blonde said something, and I somehow managed to lift my arm, grabbing onto hers, and ripping it away from my throat.

I doubled over, falling to my knees and trying to force some air past my closed airway, gasping and retching at the pain that seemed to course through my whole body. The blonde said something, presumably to the Cullen's, and I flew into a frantic coughing fit, blood, perfect more blood, splattered down on the snow under me, but that wasn't what bothered me.

The blonde grabbed my arm, forcing me to my feet facing her. I was way taller than her, and she literally looked to be like, thirteen at most, ruby red eyes that seemed to bore into my soul, and a firm grip. The thing that threw me of was that she was smiling.

"Courtney! I have been dying to meet you."

I didn't know what to say, but when I spoke, my voice was hoarse, and didn't sound like mine. "Uh, likewise."

"I'm Jane." She introduced like we were old friends, and she didn't just try to choke me out. "I have heard all about you."

She smiled, the undertone of this weird-ass conversation pushing at a more sinister undertone. Like: I know you're weird and I might kill you if your family doesn't do it themselves. "Uh, okay."

"This is Sadie?" She pointed to my friend, who's eyes were bugging out, and her arms were straining against her bonds. "She told me quote a bit about you. Wonderful girl. Very gifted. Why don't you show them?"

I don't know what Jane did, but Sadie screamed out in pain, and then, before my eyes, changed.

Changed until she looked like herself. Pale, but natural skin, freckles, brown eyes and messy hair. This was Sadie. Alice let out a small whimper, and only then did I look over at the Cullen's. Alice looked terrified, an expression I have never seen on her, Emmett's jaw was clenched to the point it must hurt. Rosalie had wide eyes, her lips drawn in a tight line, and her hands clenched into fists. It was Jasper that got me. He was staring right at me, his eyes wide and desperate, I suddenly felt exactly like I did when I slashed that knife across my stomach. Scared. I felt like I did when I was in forest, helpless. I have never given up before, why did that happen?

I didn't realize I was crying until a sob tore from my throat. Sadie was turned all along... she just... she just, I don't understand.

Jane smiled again, but I wasn't looking at her, I was looking right at my best friend. I've known Sadie my whole life, now she's... dead.

"I know this must be a shock to you... but don't worry, you'll follow her soon."

"I don't want too!" I exclaimed, my voice partially distorted by sobbing and pain as tears mixed with blood.

"Well, sometimes you don't get what you want." Jane patted my shoulder, and I didn't even have the heart to push her off.

"Just let her go."

Jane turned when Jasper spoke, but I didn't have the energy too. I just trained my eyes ahead, blood still leaking from my head, and my lips painted red in a way you didn't want them to be. Everything hurt. I'm tired.

"All in time."

That was the last thing I heard, before a sharp blow was delivered to the back of my head, and I crumpled to the ground.

Everything faded to darkness.

A/N: Well damn that was painful.

I was gonna post that thing for my Bellamy Blake story, but I think I am too depressed so I might do it later.

To lighten the mood, everyone tell me your favorite quote from Courtney's inner monologue! One of my fav's that I remember is: "I heard a lot of yelling, am I in hell? I honestly wouldn't be surprised."

Thank you all for voting and commenting, and please continue to do so!

 Lots of love!
