23- Meet Me in The 1800's

"There are two great days in a persons life. The day we are born, and the day we realize why."

-William Barclay

There are two kinds of people on birthdays. There is the one buzz-kill who is super concerned about being older then her immortal boyfriend, and doesn't want any presents because of her sadness. And then there is the one who has loved birthdays since her first one, and basically lives for the concept of cake.

Guess which one I am!

"Bella!" I cried, bounding down the stairs and giggling as I hugged my twin. "Happy birthday!"

"For you." She grumbled as I danced out of the window, feeling like Alice Cullen. Alice Cullen, my best friend, and honorary sister. Dating my other best friend, Sadie Michaels. Very pretty, very short, and very much a vampire. "Jasper is technically nineteen."

"Jasper is technically 160- something." I corrected. "And Edward is pretty close."

Bella grumbled something under her breath, and I rolled my eyes. "Come on, loser! We're eighteen! It's our senior year, last year in this hellhole before we can go and do something with our lives! Or not, you know, I have never been that smart."

Bella snorted, climbing into the drivers seat since I am supposed to be emotionally scarred from getting into a "car crash" last year.

"Come on!" I held up the camera Charlie got us. He always gets us gifts together. I got the camera, she got the photo-book. I snapped a picture of Bella's pouting face. "Happy birthday to the Swan Twins!"

"Shut up." Bella grumbled as we pulled up into the small driveway of our school. I hate this school. It's small and full of annoying people. I have gotten closer to Bella's group of friends, since Jasper, Emmett, and Rosalie left last year. It is weird, not seeing jasper all day. Still, I do see him every day. And since Sadie moved here with her family, she is always wanting to see Alice.

"What's up, losers?" I called, exiting the truck. Jessica stuck up her middle finger in my direction, while Eric ran up and bowed. "I believe it is two very special girls birthday today!"

"It's not the Sprouse Twins birthday!"

Eric chuckled as Bella came over, still looking depressed. "That bitch isn't in the proper spirit."

"Come on, Bella! Show us a smile!" Mike urged like the loyal puppy he is.

"Hey guys!" I pulled out my camera from my backpack. "Our dad wants us to take pictures of senior year, or something like that, so wanna pose?"

"I take them I don't pose for them." Angela tried, but Bella grabbed the camera from my hands, saying that she would take it. I ran over to wrestle Angela into the frame.

"Don't worry guys, I'm in the picture, nobodies gonna be looking at you!" Eric cried, and we all giggled, striking poses as Bella clicked the button.

"You're getting old." Jessica noted, ruffling my hair in attempts to be annoying. "I mean, you sure Hale will still want to date you when you're old and gray?"

"We all age, Jess." I teased. "hey, how's Mike?"

"Asshole!" Jessica lunged forward as we play-wrestled like a bunch of puppies slapping each others hands like children. "Oh, sorry was that a bad time?"

"Not all of us get the hot blond one as our boyfriend!"

"Mike! Jess thinks you're not hot!" I yelled over the noise of mingling teenagers. Jessica slapped her hand over my mouth. "No! I just think Hale's hotter."

"Because he is." I winked. "And no stealing my boyfriend!"

"Speaking of... There's Cullen."

I turned my head, grinning as Edward walked toward us like some sort of low-budget male model. Bella immediately jogged over to meet him, and I grinned. "Hey, making you miss blondie even more, huh?" Jessica asked, a smirk playing on her lips. I rolled my eyes. "You have no idea."

"I'm so flattered that you miss me."

"Jazz?" I cried incredulously, already recognizing him by his Southern twang. I jumped up to wrap my arms around his shoulders and hugging him tight. Don't get me wrong, kissing Jasper is like being in a whole other world, but I have always loved hugging him. His naturally cold skin is comforting to me, and he always smells like cinnamon.

"Hey, doll." He grinned, leaning down so he could peck my lips. I grinned. "Wow, you're happy." He noted, closing his eyes in a brief moment of contentment.

"Twin's can be polar opposites. Birthdays are an example of this."

"It's your birthday?" He teased, bringing his eyebrows together in mock-confusion. I slapped his arm, chuckling at my boyfriends behavior.

"When was your last birthday? The 1800's?"

"You wound me, doll." He joked, his lips quirking up in a soft smile. "I got you something, though."

And then, low and behold, he reached down and stripped off his navy blue sweater, handing the bundle of fabric to me. I gasped, grabbing the hoodie and smiling up at Jasper. "You know about my obsession with your hoodies?"

"Well you kind of lost the other one..." He shifted on his feet, biting his lip. "You know-"

"When I stabbed myself? Yeah I know."

"So I figured you could use another one."

I grinned, handing Jasper my bag so I could pull the hoodie over my head. I shivered in delight. I love Jasper's hoodies, they smell like him, and are big, and kind of cold when you first get them.

"I love you." I grinned, and he returned the gesture. "Hey, that's not it. Turn around."

I glared at the blond in front of me. "Hey, come on, Texas, I may like birthdays, but you didn't need to get me more then one thing-"

"Oh hush." He held one cold finger to my lips. "Don't fight it, turn around."

I rolled my eyes, but obliged nevertheless. I felt his hands brush up against my neck, and I shivered again, Jasper noticed, and I could basically see his smirk.

A cool chain fastened around my neck, and I picked it up, feeling a smile grow on my face as my heart melted.

It was a small, red heart gem that rested on a silver chain. My favorite color, and he remembered when I told him about how necklaces were basically the only piece of jewelry that I actually like.

"Oh my gosh, Jazz." I mumbled, my finger tracing across the small heart. "It's gorgeous. You didn't have-"

"Gosh, I wish I could have had the ability to make people stop talking." He teased, brushing a piece of my freshly cut hair behind my ear. "Did I tell you I love the hair? Because I do."

"Court!"

We both turned our heads, and Jasper's nose immediately scrunched up. I chuckled at his reaction, jogging forward. "Jake! What are you doing here?"

Jacob laughed, hugging me tight, the bear-hug way that Jacob Black does. "What, I can't visit my two favorite twins on their birthday?"

"Oh shut up." I rolled my eyes. "I see that you already spoke to Bella, that probably bummed you out more than necessary."

"I know, jeez." he blew a piece of his magnificent long hair from his face. "Glad to see someone has a normal birthday reaction."

"I know like, downer much?"

Jake reached out to playfully poke my stomach, and I giggled at the action. "How's the ol' injuries doing?"

"Just a thin, rather ugly scar." I joked. "Healed up neatly thanks to doctor Cullen."

"Speaking of which, your Cullen is glaring at me from the other side of your crappy truck, and it is beginning to frighten me."

I turned to playfully glare at Jasper, a mixture of amusement and annoyance bubbling beneath my eyes. He held his hands up in mock-surrender, shoving his hands in the pocket of his jeans. Seriously, he is only wearing jeans and a long-sleeved brown shirt and he still looks like a goddamn angel.

"You did it! You cut off your hair!" He grinned widely, showing off his perfect teeth. "Sweet! You look like a Rez girl! Well... maybe get a little bit of a tan and then-"

"You started good, and then you ruined it." I teased as Jacob reached forward and folded something in my palm. "Come on, it's a birthday present."

"Thank's Jakie... and I still have to make a point about your growing because you look older then me."

"I am slightly offended."

I unfolded my hand, and grinned. Another necklace. It looked like it was made of brown twine, with small beads wrapped around the bottom. "I love it, thanks, Jake."

"It's just from the reservation..." He nervously rubbed the back of his neck. I chuckled at his awkwardness. "Hey, I love it. Thank you, Jake."

He grinned. "Okay, great, um, glad you like it, I'm gonna go-"

I giggled t his nervous tenancies, and then turned to kiss Jasper goodbye.
