"Hah! Loser!" Gene's gang says walking past Zane throwing his books to the ground. "Huhhh...real mature you guys!" Zane yells fighting back tears.
Gene's POV
I watch as Sasha and Zenix knock down Zane's books, watching a few tears fall down his face as he gathered up the scattered papers and books on the ground. "Sorry about them..." I say helping the smol bean. "I don't need your pity...," Zane says. I look at him shocked and understandingly. "Oh, I see, well have a good rest of your day!" I say waving goodbye.
Zane's POV
"W-wait!" I said standing up, and brushing off my legs. "Hm?" Gene hums. "You live close by me right?" I ask shyly. "Yah, wanna walk home...together?" Gene asks. "Mhm," I hum blushing a bit. "Ok, here," Gene says gesturing for my hand. "What if someone sees," I say blushing more. "It's been a few minutes since the last bell...we should be ok," Gene says smiling at me. "I still think this is a trick," I say taking his hand. "Hey, wanna go to the park tomorrow?" Gene asks. "S-sure," I say hesitantly. "Great, here's my number," Gene says giving me a slip of paper. I look down in embarrassment for most of the walk. What was Garroth gonna say? What was my mom gonna say? M-my dad.... I don't care though...if this isn't a trick I can tell him. I have to be cautious though. "Heh, here we are," Gene says letting go of my hand. As I walk up the stairs I feel him run up and hug me from behind. I quickly turn around and hug him again. "Thanks for letting me not be alone," Gene says winking. "Thanks for not being mean," I say smiling while I take off my scarf.
Gene's POV
H-he's so cute without his scarf... "Ehm, yah n-no problem..." I say feeling heat run up my face and neck. "See you tomorrow," Zane says before hugging me one last time. "Bye," I say walking away.

Zane's POV
I groan as I get up, trying not to fall back asleep. "Oh Zuzu!" My mom yells. "Yeah?" I ask getting out of bed and grabbing my phone. "Who was that holding your hand last night?" She asked me kind of sternly. "U-uhh just a friend," I say. I was afraid.. I didn't know how she would respond. "I think he likes you," she says winking at me. "R-really?!" I ask smiling. "Mhm, he sure does!!" She sings. "And you like him back~!" She says smiling. "W-well I mean...maybe a little," I say not afraid anymore. "Aww my little Zuzu has a crush!" She says. "May I go to the park to hang out with him?" I ask. "Of course Zuzu! Don't have too much fun
though!" She says leaving my room. I look at my phone and realize the time. "Crap!" I say running around my room trying to get dressed while texting him on why I'm late. I rush out the door, almost making Vylad trip. "Sorry! In a rush!" I say.
Gene's POV
I look at my phone and smile at every text message I receive. As I sit on the cement by the waterfall, I run my hand across the water, feeling happy and calm. "G-Gene! I'm so so so sorry! I didn't mean to be late I promise." Zane says panting. "That's ok, I got the messages, no need to be sorry!" I say smiling at Zane. "Heh, uhh where is your mask?" I ask blushing at how cute he is. "Agh!" Zane says hiding his face. "H-hey, it's ok, I think you look cute without it," I say putting down his hands and arms. He keeps his eyes closed though probably because he was embarrassed. "Look at me," I say sort of sternly.
Zane's POV
Is he upset? Ugh this was a trap! I should've known! I'm such a naive idiot! This time I don't fight back my tears, I let them fall. "H-hey it's ok, I'm sorry if I seemed mad cuz I'm n-not. I'm still trying to f-fix that." Gene stutters. "I-it's ok... I'm just scared," I say looking at him. "O-of what?!" Gene asks concerned. "I'm afraid this is all a trick, and I'm afraid of someone seeing us here." I say wiping away a few of my tears. "It isn't a trick, and if someone sees us together...anywhere, then I'll deal with them. That is not something you have to worry about," Gene says hugging me. "Hey Gene, Hi loser," Sasha says for another side of the park. "Hah! Gene, what are you doing with...it?" Zenix says walking towards Gene. "G-Gene?" I shallowly ask stepping back. "Zenix, Sasha, that's enough!" Gene says glaring at them both.
Gene's POV
"Back off," I say. "Hey man, I'm just doing what I do," Sasha says flipping her hair. "Yah? Well go do it somewhere else," I say through my teeth. "C'mon Zenix... let's go," Sasha says grabbing Zenix's arm. "Zane I-," I say as I turn around to see him not there anymore. "Z-Zane?" I yell. "Zane!" I yell again. "I-I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry Zane..." I whisper to myself trying to find him. "Z-Zane?" I ask looking over at a moving bush. "Please don't hurt me," he mumbles. "Hey Zane, can you come sit by me?" I ask gently. He gets out of the bushes and nods slowly walking over to me. "Promise you won't laugh?" I ask. Zane nods again. "Hmm...first I'll give you this," I say handing him a black box. "Open it," I say. Zane opens the box and takes out the cute stary necklace. "Want me to help you put it on?" I ask gesturing for him to turn around. "Y-yes please," Zane says. I put it around his neck gently. "Oh, I also got one for me, but it's a moon," I say putting it around my neck. "Ok, now I'll tell you. I l-like you, a lot," I say smiling at him.
Zane's POV
I was in shock. The person I had liked since forever liked me back..."I-I like y-you too," I say nervously. "R-Really?!" Gene asks me. "Well, yah," I say sorta sassy."Oh, heh," Gene says blushing. "C'mon, I wanna show you something," Gene says taking my hand. "Close your eyes," Gene says putting his arm around my waist threatening to go down farther. "Follow," Gene says. We don't walk for long; only a quarter of a mile. I could almost feel his smile. Every step I took made me scared, what if it really was a trick.... I didn't listen though, I kept following Gene and his instructions. "K, stop," Gene says. "You can open your eyes now," he says letting go of me. When I take off the blindfold I'm met by an extraordinary view and an amazingly set up picnic. "G-Gene I..." I started. "It's amazing isn't it?" He asks sitting on the stereotypical white and red checkered picnic blanket. "This is fantastic!" I squeal. "Ehm, I mean, yah is cool," I say in a monotone voice sitting next to Gene. "Here," Gene says giving me his sweatshirt. "Th-thanks," I say blushing. "M-may I see your eye? T-the covered one," Gene says sitting up. "U-uh, yah," I say sitting up. He pushes away the hair that covers my eye. "Why do you hide it?" Gene asks me blushing, while grazing over the scar. "It's stupid, it isn't important," I say.
Gene's POV
"It's beautiful," I say with lust in my eyes and voice. "Heh, it isn't," Zane says looking down at his hands neatly folded in his lap. I put one of my legs on the other side of him. I'm sitting on my knees so I can see him blushing. He was blushing so much it was almost radiating off of his face and onto my white skull t-shirt. "How adorable," I say with a big, almost insane smile on my face. Zane quickly grabs the collar of my shirt and pulls me closer to his face. I get scared for only a second, just until he kisses me. We kissed! I didn't think I could've gotten any happier, until he said this: "My boyfriend." I hugged him tightly. "I love you Zane, I always will," I say trying not to cry. "I-I love you too Gene..." Zane says bursting into tears. I try to calm him, kissing his head and forehead multiple times. "W-what time I-is it?" Zane asks me still crying a little. "Almost 9," I say smiling. "You ready to go home?" I ask letting go of him. He nods. I stand up, and help him stand up. "Don't worry about this, I'll clean it up tomorrow," I say holding him close to me. From where the park is, we get to my place first, so I hug and kiss him goodbye before I watch to make sure he got home safely.
Zane's POV
Once I get to my doorstep I sit down, and start to cry. Not because I'm sad or scared, I'm happy for once. I have someone in my life that loves me, not like a family member or friend, but as a boyfriend. I hear someone rush over to me, and when I look up I smile. "I-I wanted to make sure you were ok," Gene says sitting next to me. "I-I'm ok," I say blushing a bit. "O-ok," Gene says kissing me before walking away. I stand up and walk into the house. "Anyone home?" I ask. Everyone answers me, but mostly Garroth. "What happened?! Did Gene and his gang do something?!" Garroth asked me. "Gene did," I smiled. "What? I swear I'll kill him!" Garroth said sternly. "It wasn't bad, h-he asked me out...w-we're dating," I say flinching a bit. "Aww baby brother," Garroth says hugging me. I go to bed that night happy. It's been a while.
