As the years went on, Anne tried to enlist in the army but was rejected due to numerous health conditions she suffers from. She was also frequently bullied by thugs but despite all that she never gave up her dreams to becoming a soldier.

When Anne was being bullied in a alleyway. Bucky saved Anne and told her to never give up on her dreams. As Bucky And Anne continued hanging out with each other. They slowly began developing feelings for each other.

However Fate had different plans for them.

Augest 10 1943.

It was the morning as the time was seven twenty five a.m, It showed the city of New york. There was a military office where Anne was sitting on a chair looking at the news on the television as she was anxious. For the last several years she has trying to enlist into the army however due to her health conditions she always gets rejected. However Anne never gave up her dreams in joining the army and helping people.

Anne heard some the new recruits talking to each other as she was anxiously waiting for the results until she heard someone calling her name as she immediately got up and entered the office.

Anne: Yes sir?

Doctor: *Looks at the paper and reads it* Sorry Anne but i think this won't work out

Anne: Just give me chance.

Doctor: You're weak, You'd be ineligible on your asthma alone

Anne: Is there anything you could do?

Doctor: I'm saving your life, Your not qualified for this. I'm sorry.

Anne looked sad as She continued looking at the doctor as She just left the office.

Some time later, Anne was at the movie theater watching a movie as She was thinking about something, Anne was still sad that she couldn't get into the army and wished that the army could atleast give her a chance.

Anne continued watching the movie before she heard someone yelling as Winters got a bit irradiated.

Anne: Can you lower your voice?

The man looked at her and didn't listen to her as Winters said something to him.

Anne: Have some respect atleast.

The man glared at Anne as Winters was watching the movie before she heard him yelling again as Anne was upset as she got up.

Anne: Can't you listen for once? We are watching a movie.

Man: What are you gonna do? You look like you can't even put up a fight?

Anne: I can punch you in the face if you don't shut up.

The man looked angry as He got up from his chair, He looked taller and bigger then Anne as She stepped back but still gave an intimating stare, She showed no fear no matter what.

Soon, The bully dragged Anne to the alleyway as He was getting tired of Anne, Anne was stepping back as He was gonna punch her but Anne tried to move back, Instead The bully pushed her as Anne fell down but she didn't give up and stood up.

Anne was unable to defend herself against the bully until she grabbed a garbage lid and looked at the bully.

Anne: I can do this all day.

The bully kicked Anne as she fell down as he was gonna attack her until someone grabbed the bully's arm and threw him to the ground as he saw who it was.

His name is James Buchanan Barnes. He is twenty five years old and is Anne's best friend.

Bully: Hey-

Bucky punched the bully in the face as the bully was shocked and immediately ran away. Bucky helped Anne on her feet as he spoke to her.

Bucky: You alright?

Anne: I'm fine. How are you Bucky?

Bucky: Alright. I came to New York to visit you. How did the recruitment go?

Anne looked sad as Bucky was looking at her.

Anne: I didn't get qualified.

Bucky felt bad for Anne as He looked at her and touched her shoulder.

Bucky: Its alright, Just don't give up yet.

Anne: I'm just not fitting in anywhere.

Bucky: You will get it, You have alot of potential

Anne still looked sad as Bucky looked at her as He tried to cheer her up.

Bucky: *Smiles* Hey, Cheer up. Maybe I'll take you to the Stark Expo.

Anne: *Looks at him* Okay then.

Anne agreed to go with him as Bucky and Anne left the alleyway and went to the Stark Expo.
