~*~ Nobody can Escape the Consequences ~*~

Liza’s POV

“The consequences can’t be that bad Bonnie,” I sighed, “And their Mother is dead even if she wants me alive there is nothing she can do to hurt me or the others.”

Bonnie clearly didn’t know how to tell me this, which gave me the idea that the consequences were bad.

“You’ll be human Liza-“ Bonnie stated but I cut her off.

“That’s not bad. I want to be human. I never wanted to become a vampire, but knowing I can still be with Kol, Elijah and Nik will make up for the weakness of being a human,” I smiled softly.

I hadn’t wanted to be a vampire. Obviously I didn’t get a chance to voice my opinion, or chose to die at that point. I really wanted to be with the Mikaelson’s even if it meant I was a vampire. The whole of my life I had enjoyed no matter if there was pain throughout the years.

By no means was I upset in living an extended life with the ones I loved, but I kind of did want to live a normal human life.

“That’s not all Liza. Kol, Elijah and Klaus won’t remember you. They’ll lose all of their memories of you,” she said softly.

With that my smile faded. Being human was one thing, but being human without the three people I cared about most in the world not knowing me, was completely different.

Although I knew that’d be horrible, but I could still be in their lives even if they couldn’t remember everything that happened involving me from their past.

“That’s not the worst thing that could happen. I need to be with them even if they don’t know who I am. At least then they won’t feel the pain of my death, they’ll be happier,” I shrugged.

I couldn’t handle watching them all in so much pain and if the only way I could get rid of their pain is removing me from their memories, then I’d do it.

“Are you sure Liza? You don’t have to do this. Jer and I could go talk to them and tell them you are okay on the other side, give them peace of mind. I just don’t want you to regret your choice,” Bonnie said with a soft encouraging smile.

“I’m sure. At least then I can try and get back into their lives or at least see them,” I smiled.

She nodded telling Jeremy to gather a couple of candles and a bowl of water. My guess was she needed them both to channel the elements to help the spell.

Jeremy’s POV

Bonnie and I lit the candles before she sat on the floor with Liza sat down in front of her.

It was kind of awkward as it was clear Liza didn’t really know how the spell would go and how it would work for her. I didn’t have a clue either and I was sure Bonnie had never performed this spell before.

It was a complete mystery to us all as to what would happen.

Bonnie closed her eyes and began to chant the spell. I was sat on Bonnie’s bed watching her chant the spell whilst Liza sat looking at Bonnie not really knowing what she was supposed to do.

As the chant carried on something un-expected occurred. Liza began to fade. I was used to see ghosts fade away and fade into visibility, but the whole point of this spell was to make Liza human again- so why was she fading?

“What’s going on?” Liza panicked, realising she was disappearing.

“I don’t know,” I stated truthfully.

Bonnie didn’t open her eyes or stop the chant due to our panic, she simply continued to chant the spell as the candles flickered.

As the spell continued, Liza continued to fade. Whether this was a good sign or a bad sign was beyond me. Bonnie was the only one who might know that, and she was in the midst of a trance, doing the spell.

“Jeremy, what’s happening?” Liza questioned as she completely disappeared.

“Liza?” I gasped.

Where would she have gone?

Did the spell work?

“Bonnie,” I stated attempting to get her attention.

I’m sure she wasn’t ignoring me, but she was in the middle of the spell.

Suddenly the candles went out, and Bonnie’s eyes snapped open.

“Where’s Liza?” Bonnie questioned realising Liza isn’t there, “did the spell wear off? Is she still there?”

“No she’s gone. She began to fade until she disappeared, was that supposed to happen?” I frowned worried as to what had happened to her.

It’s not like I had known Liza for a long time, but we had become pretty good friends since she had come to Mystic Falls. She wasn’t like most other vampires, she actually cared about humans, and after today I realised she wanted to be human too.

“I have no idea Jer. We’ll just have to wait to find out if she comes back as a human or a ghost. But for now, we are each going to look through a grimoire to look for a loophole. She may not mind coming back and them losing their memories, but I’m sure she’d like to have them remember her,” Bonnie sighed passing me a grimoire.

“What are we looking for?” I questioned.

I’m sure Bonnie didn’t really have any idea of what we were looking for, but she’d have a better idea than I would.

“I don’t know, just look for something about regaining memories or something that could help,” She shrugged.

Together we began to look through spells, trying to find something that could help Liza. I couldn’t really find anything, and I didn’t think Bonnie could.

We spent the next few hours looking through books and spells. All of this work looking for ways to help Liza, made me realise how hard she was going to find this. It wasn’t going to be easy either way, whether she did use a spell to get their memories back or whether she didn’t and I don’t think she realised the real extent of that.
