~*~ Life has Consequences ~*~

Jeremy’s POV

“I can come back.”

My jaw dropped at what she had said. Liza was dead and last time a ghost told me they could come back, it didn’t end well. Vicki tried to kill my sister and I hoped that Liza wasn’t willing to do that just to come back to life.

Actually I knew she would be willing to do that, as she hated Elena more than anyone, probably even more than Rebekah. That is saying something as she was the one who had killed Liza.

“What do you mean you can come back?” I questioned, truly needing an explanation.

“You know on the other side a witch can talk to others, as they have free rein of the other side?” She smiled softly.

I obviously knew that witches could travel all around the other side as Vicki had told me this, hence why she almost came back.

“Yeah,” I stated raising an eyebrow.

“Well a witch came to me,” She smiled, “And she said that if I could get a witch to help me on your side, then I can come back.”

So far, she hadn’t mentioned any horrible consequences from her coming back, which meant she had probably hadn’t spoke to the same witch as Vicki had. I still didn’t believe that it could be this easy for her to be back on this side once again.

There was only one way I could find the real answer. I would have to ask Bonnie, to look this up in her grimoire.  She would have to know this as Liza said she needed a witch to get her back here, so putting two and two together; it was obvious that she could solve this problem.

“Well, as it’s getting late, tomorrow I will phone Bonnie and get her to help us. Is that okay?” I questioned.

She nodded softly with a small smile on her face.

“I’ll see whether the witch will speak to me again, so I can find out some more information,” She smiled, “Goodnight Jer.”

With that she disappeared, obviously as she had stopped pushing to be on this side. I waited for a couple of moments just to make sure she wasn’t going to come back. Once I was sure of this I quickly changed and jumped into bed so I could sleep and be ready for the day I would have to face tomorrow.

~*~ The Next Day ~*~

I had woken up over an hour ago, and had already got ready. Also I had phoned Bonnie and she said she would be here about now. Obviously I hadn’t told her why she was coming round, otherwise she could back out of it, but if she was already here then it’d be less likely.

Whilst I waited Liza reappeared and sat down on my window sill. It was great being able to see her but seeing her so pale and in her tattered wedding gown, made her not look like the Liza I had grown to care about. Although she was amazingly beautiful and angel like, she also resembled a fallen angel which is a simple of evil. But luckily angels and fallen angels were the only things that weren’t actually real- I think.

“Bonnie’s here,” She stated with her voice sickly calm.

Even if I had died and found out I could come back, I never thought I would be able to actually stay calm throughout it. I guess after a while I would calm down, but at the moment after only a short while, you would still be freaking out.

Liza was still looking out of the window, and now probably not at Bonnie who had just rang the doorbell.

I hastily went downstairs opening the door to see Bonnie stood there.

“Hello,” She smiled.

I smiled back greeting her before leading her upstairs. I knew Liza would have come downstairs but she was up there at the moment.

“You know I can see ghosts?” I sighed.

She was think I was mad and never think I had actually communicated with her.

“Yes,” She shrugged but I could see from her frown she knew exactly where this was going.

“I can see Liza. And I know it is crazy but she says she can come back,” I sighed.

Even as I said it, it made me feel stupid, let alone what she thought. It was mad, the concept of someone coming back from the dead. I had finally grasped the concept of vampires and ghosts but actually coming back, I never thought it would happen.

“What do you mean?” She questioned raising an eyebrow.

“She says that she can come back, a witch contacted her and says with the help from a witch on this side she can come back,” I shrugged.

I didn’t know too much, other than there was a consequence, but Liza wouldn’t go into detail about that and I certainly wasn’t bringing it up to Bonnie.

“Okay, well I presumed you’d call me round for something like this, so I looked through my grimoire and found a spell so in a certain range for a limited period witches can see ghosts so maybe that would be easier with this,” Bonnie smiled softly, “Is that okay Liza?”

I looked over to the girl sat at the window ledge. She nodded with a small smile.

“She says yes, but brace yourself, she doesn’t look like her bubbly self,” I stated.

Bonnie nodded telling what she needed. I made my way to get the candles, a map and the knife. She had to put blood of a medium on a map to make the boundaries of the spell, and she would draw the power from the candles.

I cut across my palm, where a scar sat from the last time I had to do this last time. My blood dripped onto the map as she finished lighting the candles.

Sitting with the candles around her and the map in front of her she began to chant, whilst I grabbed a towel and used it to cover the cut.

The flames went out as Bonnie re-opened her eyes before looking over to the window where Liza sat.

“Liza?” Bonnie questioned softly.

“You can see me?” Liza’s voice croaked.

“Yes,” Bonnie smiled.

Bonnie then asked her about coming back, so Liza explained exactly what she had told me. Once she had done that Bonnie sat there thinking before searching through the grimoire that she brought with her. Finally she found what she was looking for.

“I know this seems weird but take my hand. I know we can’t actually touch but it’ll work. I’ll recite the spell and if you focus on this witch I will be able to contact her as you’ll be like a talisman. Then I can find the spell and see whether I will be able to do it,” Bonnie explained.

I was so surprised that she was actually going along with this, as she was generally quite reserved on when she’d use her powers, as it could cause her a lot of harm and trouble.

Within seconds Bonnie began to mumble the spell and stayed in this state for a while. Liza was still sat next to her, holding her hand but gave me a worried look. I knew why as Bonnie could be in any danger in this state.

Suddenly she snapped out of her dazed stated causing Liza to jump back. I guess it was a reflex as Bonnie could do no harm to her- she was dead.

“Did you find the witch?” I questioned.

“Yes,” Bonnie said still looking shocked, “Liza you aren’t going to like this and neither are the Mikaelson’s.”

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“The witch is Esther, their Mother.”
