Percy

After Annabeth had refused to stop doing her concerts from time to time, the whole thing was sinking in. How incredibly stupid I was to let Rachel do this on her own. And how ridiculously impossible this whole thing was.

But it was real. And it was happening. These crazy things— were—staring at us in the face. And Annabeth... oh gods poor Annabeth. I was scared. I'd try not to show it in front of her, but I was scared. And I couldn't brush off that feeling.

I heard my phone buzz and immediately pulled it out, hoping that it was Annabeth telling me that she'd be safe. But it was Rachel. With the weirdest message she'd ever written.

"Annabeth, Chase, Fisher, wwii it's f"

Obviously confused, I stalked over to Annabeth's place, hoping her genius mind could make sense of this. It had been like a half hour, but she seemed paler, her now wet hair stuck to her forehead.

"Found something?" She still asked, her voice perking up.

I shook my head and walked in, handing her the phone. Her eyebrows furrowed as she read it over and over muttering to herself. Then she finally announced, "Since when did Rachel become so complicated?" to no one in particular.

"She didn't finish her sentence though, do you think something happened?" I asked, a sinking feeling rising up.

Annabeth just shook her head. "No, I don't think so, she probably didn't find anything...because she was searching her own house, who could possibly be there? I mean, her dad..."

"Rachel's dad wouldn't harm her. As much as they don't like each other, he's defensive, I don't think he would do anything." I said firmly.

Annabeth looked skeptical but nodded her head.

"And my name, she wrote my name, but there was a comma- why?" Annabeth asked, sounding increasingly frustrated.

And just like that, she kept muttering to herself, and for almost an hour we went on about it. To add to that, Rachel said she was going on a surprise trip so Annabeth almost smacked the pillow she was holding into my face.

It was around then when she fell asleep. She looked adorable, her nose scrunching up, and her lip puffy from being bitten. But she looked calm. Like a princess. Course, if I told her that she'd have killed me- but sometimes I wondered why she was so insecure.

I don't know when I drifted off, but when I opened my eyes there was two kaleidoscope eyes staring right at me. Before I was practically able to breathe she asked, her eyes glinting and her mouth curved into a permanent smirk "Did you two sleep together?"

My eyes widened, "What?" I yelped.

"I'm guessing that's a no, then." she put, pointing to Annabeth.

"Yes, Piper. It is a no." I said savagely.

"Yet." she laughed and pulled me to my feet. "Go get dressed dum-dum."

I groaned. "Why you even here?" I said.

"Jason's birthday party?" she replied, faintly blushing.

"Ooo la la" I said with an accent, taking the chance to smirk at her.

She stuck her tongue out and pushed me out the door.

And for that while, everything was back to normal. We laughed, we smashed a huge chocolate cake on his face, I even saw Annabeth pouring a couple spoons of sauces into his soda. I caught her eye, grey and sparkling as it used to, and she smiled at me, before turning away. Why my cheeks felt hot? I don't know.

As everyone left, we sat on the old bench in the park, the one we used to play at every day. When Rachel texted.

Percy I'm sorry, you and I just isn't working out. I'll explain everything when I get back.

I gotta admit, my heart sunk a bit. Was I that unlikable? I shoved the phone into Annabeth's hand and watched her as she read it. She looked back at me with large sympathetic grey eyes. "Percy I'm sorry—," she started; but I really don't know what took over me when I kissed her. Her eyes were as round as O's, but she didn't stop either. And it was amazing. Beautiful. I loved every second of it.

And when we stopped, there he was, his blue eyes, wide with shock, and pain... "Annie?" he gasped.
