As much as I figured, I didn't have much to lose. What? He was already mad at me. Now that I think about it, it's understandable. But again that was my dad's fault.

When I asked him why we'd moved he said, 'Work.'

Then once he caught me typing out Percy's mum's phone number. He had visibly paled and snatched the phone away. He told me there were people after him. Bad people. Because of somethings he had discovered. And they'd come after me. He'd scared me enough with more stories which now I believe are complete lies, to make me not contact anyone. I just accepted it. It was like an unspoken rule.

So I told Percy. I also told him about Helen and Bobby and Matthew.

"I remember them. When they were a year old, I think. They puked on me." he said, pulling a face.

I laughed. It almost felt like we knew each other. Almost. Truth was, we were basically now two strangers meeting each other.

It's like when someone tells you, 'Dobby is coming over!'

And honestly, one would be like, 'Who the heck is Dobby?'

'Your best friend! You knew each other when you were in diapers, but he moved away when you were a year old.'

It was like that, only there was some past remembered here. Which made it even harder.

Then Percy got quiet. "Sorry you went through that- with your dad and Helen."

I shrugged. Truth was, if not for me learning to hide how I feel, I would have burst into tears. No one had ever told me that. Ignoring someone hurt. It hurt a lot.

Then I felt Percy hugging me. It felt safe, warm, and happy. I felt happy.

"Sorry I got mad when you didn't call."

I smiled. "It's okay Seaweed Brain. I would've been mad too."

He grinned. "You remembered!"

I frowned. "Remembered what?"

"Seaweed Brain!"

"How could I forget?"

"Yeah, you're still a Wise Girl then. I was hoping otherwise."

I stuck my tongue out. "Considering the fact that I'm supposed to be tutoring you..."

He raised his hand to surrender. " Okay okay Wise Girl."

"So what have you been up to for the past like, seven years?"

"Uhh, not much."

"Percy..." I said, using my warning voice.

He just sighed and said, "My mom married this jerk for two years, but then he got a job and a new wife so yeah, he's gone. Thank god. Then I met my friends- Hazel, Frank—."

"They cute couple?" I asked.

He smirked. "I'll introduce you soon enough. Anyways, there's Nico, Thalia, Jason and Leo, then. Then mom married Paul, the english teacher and they had Estelle. She's almost 5 now."

"Aww that's sweet."

"Don't get me wrong, I love her and all, but she's ALWAYS stealing my blue cookies!"

I grinned. "I'm loving her more and more already..."

Well, the slight awkwardness was there, but they were friends by the end of it.

Then why did I feel like I wanted more?

Shut up Annabeth. No teenage drama. Just finish high school.

Then I noticed Percy trying to tell me something.

"Oi, Annabeth, you like, totally zoned out for a minute. And you're drooling."

"What! No! You drool in your sleep! Not me!"

"Okay then Wise Girl." he said, smirking a bit.

I punched him gently on the shoulder.

"Owwww..." He whined.

I rolled my eyes. "See you tomorrow Seaweed Brain."

"You too Wise Girl."

And maybe it was just me, but the cold air didn't bother me, and I felt happier than I had felt in a very long time.
