Deep, but very beautiful

~Rapunzel and Eugene~
"Zachary Eugene, what have I told you about dragging mud into the house?" Rapunzel scolded as she followed the dirty footprints around the house. It rained last night and the boys couldn't wait to play outside. The only problem was was that they were mud magnets.

"To not to." Zach frowned. He knew Rapunzel didn't like him tracking in mud, but he couldn't help himself. After all, he was only four.

"That's right. Now go to the bathroom so I can clean you up. Daddy won't be happy when he comes home," Rapunzel groaned as she led the messy child to the bathroom. She knew she couldn't stay mad at him, but she just wished he would listen to her. "Be quiet, Rosie's sleepy." Rapunzel reminded as they passed Rosie's bedroom/Eugene's office door. She turned on the bath water and waited for it to be the perfect temperature. She didn't want to burn him or give him chills.

"Do we need to wash my hair too?" He asked. He was completely covered in mud from head to toe. He had dried mud all over his face and hands.

"Yes, so you better take off your clothes." Rapunzel sighed. Zach stripped down and hopped into the tub. Rapunzel listened to him sing and she was in the middle of rinsing out his hair when Rosie woke up. Rapunzel groaned as she listened to the baby's cries grow louder by the second.

"Momma, Rosie's crying." Bastian said, peeking his head around the door. He was playing in his room and his big brother ears heard the cries. Like the superhero he was, he ran to tell his mom.

"Okay, Zach, just play in the water. Bastian, you sit in here and watch him. If he needs something, come tell me immediately." Rapunzel commanded. She trusted Bastian to watch over Zach for two minutes. Bastian was smart for his age. Multiple family friends insisted that they put him in preschool early, but Eugene and Rapunzel refused, wanting him to have a normal childhood.

"Okay." Bastian smiled as he sat beside the bathtub. He didn't mind being with his brother. Rapunzel nodded and quickly ran to Rosabella's room. She opened the door and leaned over her crib.

"Rosabella!" Rapunzel smiled, talking in her baby voice. Rosie looked up, her eyes red and puffy. She smiled, realizing it was her mother. Rapunzel picked her up and took her to the bathroom. "Thank you Bastian. You can go play with your trucks now." Rapunzel smiled as Bastian sped out the room.

"Momma, am I almost done?" Zach asked, looking up at Rapunzel with his large, green eyes. He was sick of being in the tub. He wanted to go play with Bastian. Rapunzel nodded her head as she strapped Rosie into her baby bouncer. She finished cleaning Zach and wrapped him in a towel. Rapunzel set the baby in her room and walked back into the hall.

"Bastian! Come watch your baby sister please!" Rapunzel yelled down the hall. Bastian ran to Rosie's room to watch her in her baby bouncer. Rapunzel chuckled and led Zach to the boys' room. She took off his towel and placed him in some clean clothes.

"Momma, I'm cold." Zach shivered as his teeth clattered. Rapunzel rubbed her hands up and down his arms. She didn't want him cold, but that's usually what happened when he got out of a nice, warm bath.

"Sorry, you'll get warm soon." Rapunzel smiled as she left the room. Zach followed behind her, not wanting to be alone. Rapunzel picked Rosie and let Zach and Bastian run free inside the house away from the muddy footprints. As Rapunzel was rocking Rosie, the door slammed shut.

"Honey! I'm home!" Eugene shouted in the house. He was thankful to get off of work early today. He wished he could stay home with his kids all day, but someone had to earn them money.

"Hi! You're home early." Rapunzel smiled from the rocking chair. Eugene walked over to them in the living room.

"How's my two favorite girls?" Eugene asked as he kissed Rapunzel's head.

"We're good, but the boys were a little trouble today."

"Would that explain the footprints in the kitchen?"

"Zach, lord help that kid, decided it would be a great idea to make mud pies."

"Yum, sounds delicious."

"And earlier today, Bastian tried coloring." Rapunzel smiled.

"So?"

"Oh he didn't color on paper. No, no he colored on the walls." Rapunzel explained. Eugene groaned.

"Will they ever learn?" He chuckled as he ran his hand through his hair. Rapunzel softly laughed and slowly shook her hand. "Well, what's for supper?"

"Spaghetti? I don't know." Rapunzel sighed as she rocked back and forth. She didn't have time to even think about what they would have for supper. Never had time for anything anymore actually.

"Sounds okay to me." Eugene shrugged as he walked into the messy kitchen. He cleared the stove and started on dinner. Rapunzel placed Rosie in her playpen and went into the dining room.

"Zach! Bastian! Come pick up the living room!" Rapunzel yelled down the hall. They quickly heard the pitter patter of feet sprinting down the hall and into the living room. They were talking nonsense as Rapunzel cleaned up the table and set down the plates. She placed Rosabella in her high chair and walked into the kitchen. "Can I grab a plate for the baby?"

"Sure. I put her pink plate up in the cupboard." Eugene replied as Rapunzel stood on her tiptoes and reached into the cupboard. She pulled out the pink princess plate and placed some noodles on the plate, she chopped them up so Rosie could eat them. She put a purple bib on Rosie and placed the plate on her tray.

"Eat up Rosie." Rapunzel smiled. Rosie looked at the food and smashed her hands into it. She rubbed it all up her arms and all over face, loving to make a mess.

"Boys! Dinner's ready!" Eugene called as he brought the food to the table. Eugene was used to making supper for the family. He knew Rapunzel took care of the kids all day. She didn't need more work to pile on top. Rapunzel helped Zach onto his chair as Bastian quickly took his spot. Rapunzel and Eugene dished the boys up, cutting their noodles, then prayed.

"Momma, I wanted a blue plate, not a green one." Bastian frowned after they finished their prayer.

"It's not green. It's yellow." Zach argued. He looked at Rapunzel and Eugene for support while they looked at each other, unsure what to say. These types of fights happen about once a week.

"Zach, this is green." Bastian replied.

"No it's not!" Zach cried.

"Bastian, just let it be. He'll learn." Eugene butted in. Ever since they tried teaching Zach colors, he's been mixing them up.

"But dad-" Bastian whined. He knew Zach wasn't right.

"So Eugene, did I tell you about what happened today?" Rapunzel asked, trying to ignore the conversation. Bastian huffed and sank in his chair. Why didn't they just admit that he was right?

"Was it with Bastian or Zach?"

"It was both. They told me you taught them how to wrestle." Rapunzel glared. She didn't like the boys fighting, even if it was a sport.

"Boys will be boys Rap." Eugene sighed. The boys giggled as Eugene winked at them. He told them not to tell their mother, but they couldn't keep it to themselves. Rapunzel sighed and shook her head.

"At least I have you, Rosie. You won't wrestle with boys." Rapunzel smiled as she fed Rosie a scoop of spaghetti. The baby smiled and happily took another bite of noodles.

"As long as I'm still here, she won't get anywhere near boys." Eugene chuckled.

"Dad, you have to be nice to everyone." Zach scolded, making Rapunzel and Eugene laugh.

~Anna and Kristoff~
"Sven! Come and find me!" Kristen sang through the house. Kristoff hid her in the cereal cabinet, hoping Sven wouldn't look there. Sven sniffed through the house, trying to find the little girl.

"Kristoff, you're still playing that silly game?" Anna chuckled as she waddled into the kitchen. Being heavily pregnant was tough on Anna, being as she was short.

"Kristen loves it." Kristoff explained as Olaf walked between his legs. Over the years, he has grown attached to the white cat. He happily purred as Kristoff picked him up.

"She loves a lot of things." Anna smiled as she rubbed her stomach. She looked around the kitchen, seeing if there was anything to snack on. After all, she's eating for two.

"Hungry?" Kristoff chuckled.

"I'm not, the baby is," Anna teased. Kristoff playfully rolled his eyes and grabbed her protein bar. "What's this garbage? This isn't chocolate!"

"I just thought you wanted something filling."

"I want chocolate. This isn't chocolate!" Anna exclaimed. Kristoff sighed, muttering to himself that it was just her hormones as he looked around for anything chocolate.

"Here's some M&Ms. Eat them slowly." Kristoff instructed as he handed her the fun size bag. Anna shrugged her shoulders and walked back into the living room. She laid on the couch and ate them. After she finished, she turned on her favorite movie, 27 Dresses. She passed out on the couch with the movie on repeat.

"Olaf!" Kristen smiled as she picked him up. She loved his soft, white fur. She always gave him hugs and for some reason, he let her. He never tried to wiggle out of her grasp.

"Kristen, be nice." Kristoff reminded her as she pet the cat. She 'gently' rubbed his head.

"He's a good kitty," Kristen smiled as she poked his face. He plopped down on the floor, letting her do whatever she wanted to him. "Daddy, his paws are dirty." Kristen frowned as she looked at his tiny paws.

"It's okay, Kristen." Kristoff assured.

"Meow." Kristen smiled in Olaf's face. He meowed back, making her laugh.

"Kristen, you need to be quiet. Mommy's trying to sleep."

"Okay, Daddy!"

"Here, let's go outside." Kristoff smiled as he took the little girl by the hand. They had a playground in the backyard so Kristen could play outside. Kristoff pushed her in her swing, making her scream to go higher.

"I can fly!" She squealed. After a long time of riding in the swing, Kristen wanted another friend. "Daddy, can Aunty Elsa come over to play?"

"I don't know. She might be busy." Kristoff replied. Elsa had been busy doing God knows what. Anna figured it was because she was trying to get a good lawyer for her divorce, but Kristoff didn't think that. He though it was because she was becoming possessive of the only thing she knew wouldn't change, her job.

"But Daddy!" Kristen cried.

"Okay, okay. I'll call Aunt Elsa." Kristoff assured as he took out his cell phone. He quickly punched in her number as Kristen ran to go down the slid.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Els, are ya busy?"

"Depends. What do you want?" Elsa questioned.

"Kristen here is feeling a little lonely and-"

"Yes! Yes, I'll come over!" Elsa shouted into the phone, making Kristoff pushed his phone away from his ear.

"Okay, I'll tell her you're on your way." He chuckled.

"Great! See ya soon!" Elsa cheered as she ended the call.

"Is she coming?" Kristen smiled.

"Yeah, she'll be here in a little bit." Kristoff grinned. She cheered and jumped all around. After awhile of watching her do silly tricks, Elsa showed up.

"Hey." She greeted as she shut the sliding door.

"Elsa!" Kristen cheered as she ran to give her a hug. Elsa bent down to her level to return it. She smiled and gently rubbed her back.

"How's my favorite niece?" Elsa asked as she pinched Kristen's cheeks.

"Good!" She giggled.

"That's good. So where's your mommy?"

"She's taking a nap." Kristoff answered as Kristen ran back to the playground with Sven behind her.

"So, have you heard the news yet?" Elsa questioned as she crossed her arms across her chest and stood back up. Kristoff shook his head no. "Well, as you know the tv show was a huge hit. It made the company millions, and well, most of the fans wanted to see how we're doing five years later."

"We're doing a tv show again?" Kristoff questioned.

"If we agree. So far only Merida and Hiccup have said yes." Elsa frowned. She personally didn't want to be on the tv show again. People didn't need to know what was happening between her and Jack.

"I wouldn't doubt Eugene and Rapunzel will agree. They'll earn plenty of money, which they're kind of short of right now." Kristoff added as he shoved his hands into his pockets. Everyone knew Eugene and Rapunzel need help on cash, but they would never ask or accept money from anyone.

"I know. What do you think?" Elsa asked as she sat down at their picnic table. She didn't really want Kristoff and Anna to agree, but Elsa knew they were adults, they could make their own decisions.

"About what?"

"About being on the show. Do you want to participate?"

Kristoff looked towards Kristen who was sliding down the slid. He was considering how the cameras and the spotlight would affect a two, almost three year old girl. "Personally, I don't really want to. I want Kristen to grow up with an average life."

"What do you think Anna will say?" Elsa persisted.

"She'll probably say yes."

"Will you tell her what you think?"

"Of course, but if that's what makes her happy, I'll do it. It probably won't affect Kristen's life as bad as I think it will. Besides, it will only be for a year, right?"

"Yeah. Hopefully." Elsa frowned as she twiddled her thumbs.

~Merida and Hiccup~
"You said what?" Merida exclaimed as she chopped up some carrots. Melissa was playing in the living room while Henry was sleeping in his room.

"I said yes. Geez, if I would have know you would have freaked out this bad, I wouldn't have said anything." Hiccup groaned as he ran his hand through his thick, dark locks.

"Well it was supposed to be a mutual agreement, but I guess, whatever! You already replied." Merida growled as she chopped her vegetables faster.

"Sorry Mer, I just thought that you would have said yes too." Hiccup reasoned.

"I wanted to sit down and talk about the pros and cons to this. Don't you think this will have an impact on not only our lives but our children's too?"

"I suppose, but it won't be for long."

"You consider five years a short amount of time." Merida fired back.

"It's only for a year." Hiccup replied. He didn't know Merida would freak out this bad. She didn't really seem to care the first time they talked about it.

Merida sighed, thinking it through. She knew a year wasn't that long, but she didn't know what the consequences would be. "How much will we earn?" She asked as she put the knife in the sink.

"More than what we earned last time." Hiccup informed.

"Do you really think this is the right choice?" Merida interrogated as she took a seat beside her husband. She rested her head on his shoulder, tired from her long day of work and watching the kids.

"Yeah. I actually do think this is the right choice for us." Hiccup confessed. She looked up into his evergreen eyes. They were filled with love and were swirling with confidence. Merida couldn't help but give her true love a quick peck on the lips.

"Okay. If you think it's the right choice, then I think so too." She smiled.

"Mum! Look! I found my bear!" Melissa cheered. Merida and Hiccup walked into the living room and found her stuffed animal sitting on a pile of books.

"Good job, sweetheart." Merida encouraged as Melissa picked it up and give it to Hiccup.

"Dad, what should we name him?" She asked as she stared at him with her grass green eyes. Her red curls were covering half of her face.

"What if we called him Koda?" Hiccup asked as he pushed her curls out of her eyes.

"Yeah! Koda!" She smiled as ran off with him. Merida looked at her husband and smiled.

"Really? Brother Bear?" She chuckled.

"It was the first thing I could think of." He reasoned. Suddenly, cries filled the house. Melissa covered her ears. She hated when Henry cried.

"I'll get him," Hiccup assured as he stood up. He walked into the room painted with dragons, courtesy of Rap, and picked up the little baby. "Hey, buddy." He smiled as he rocked Henry. He walked him back to the living room to find Merida playing with Melissa.

"Rawr!" Merida growled as she scooped up Melissa. She squealed with delight as Merida tickled her. Merida noticed Hiccup talking to Henry in a high pitch voice. She found it adorable, but knew Henry was hungry. "I'll take him, he's probably starving." Merida smiled as she was handed her son.

"Okay. I'll go finish dinner," Hiccup agreed. Merida went and sat down in the rocking chair. Hiccup smiled and wandered back into the kitchen. He finished cooking the vegetables and set the table. He placed Melissa's blue plate in between his and Merida's. "Hey, Melissa, dinner's ready."

"Yay!" She cheered as she sped into the dining room. She quickly took her spot at the table and patiently waited for her parents to join her. Hiccup walked into the living room to tell Merida, but he stopped in the hallway as he listened to her sweet voice fill the house.

"By yon bonnie banks and by yon bonnie braes
Where the sun shines bright on Loch Lomond
Me and my true love were ever wont to gae
On the bonny, bonny banks of Loch Lomond

Ye'll tak' the high road and I'll tak the low road
And I'll be in Scotland afore ye
But me and me true love will never meet again
On the bonny, bonny banks of Loch Lomond

'Twas there that we parted in yon shady glen
On the steep, steep side of Ben Lomond
Where in the purple hue the hieland hills we view
And the moon coming out in the gloaming

Ye'll tak' the high road and I'll tak the low road
And I'll be in Scotland afore ye
But me and me true love will never meet again
On the bonny, bonny banks of Loch Lomond

The wee birdies sing and the wild flowers spring
And in sunshine the waters are sleeping
But the broken heart it kens nae second spring again
And the waefu' may cease frae their greetin'

Ye'll tak' the high road and I'll tak the low road
And I'll be in Scotland afore ye
But me and my true love will never meet again
On the bonny, bonny banks of Loch Lomond."

Merida sang as she rocked their little baby to sleep. His bright blue eyes were slowly, slowly closing as he listened to his mother's gentle voice. He was peacefully asleep as Merida got up to place him in his crib. She gently laid the little baby down and turned on his monitor. She walked back into the dining room and heard Hiccup lightly humming her lullaby. "Ye heard me singin', didn't ye?"

"Ya, and it was absolutely beautiful. I've never heard you sing before. You should more often." Hiccup commented.

"Ey do sing. Ey just don't let ye hear." Merida smirked.

"Why?" Hiccup asked.

"To be honest with ye, ey have no idea." Merida laughed as she took her spot beside Melissa.

"Where did you learn it?" Hiccup questioned.

"My mum used to sing it to me all da time. It was my lullaby." Merida smiled, remembering the time her mother sang that song to calm her down from a thunderstorm.

"It's a beautiful song." Hiccup grinned.

"And also very sad."

"Sad?"

"Legend has it that the song is about two soldiers in 1745. The Hanoverian British victors were known to play cruel games on the captured Jacobites, and would supposedly find a pair of friends and tell them one could live and the other would be executed, and it was up to the pair to decide.  The song is sung by the friend who chose or was chosen to die. He is therefore telling his friend that they will both go back to Scotland, but he will go on the "low road" and die, never getting to see his true love again whereas his friend will live, taking longer to get back." Merida explained.

"That song's deeper than I thought." Hiccup chuckled.

"It is deep, but very beautiful."

~Jack~
"I just don't know what to do anywhere, Taylor." Jack cried. He was laid out on her couch. She invited him over supper since they hadn't got to talk in a long time.

"Jack, you two haven't been living together for almost a year now. When's the last time you two talked without fighting or name calling?" Taylor asked as she sat on the floor beside him.

"I can't remember." Jack confessed as he placed his face into one of her pillows.

"Jack, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think that's one of your signs to get a divorce." Taylor frowned. She always thought Jack and Elsa were a perfect couple. They seemed to complete each other, but they've grown apart, each wanting different things.

"Taylor, you don't understand. I can't. She was supposed to be my soulmate. We were supposed to be together forever like everyone else!" Jack shouted. "If my own soulmate doesn't love me, then no one will." He whispered.

"Jackson, I love you. Samuel loves you. Your parents, siblings, friends, they all love you." Taylor's argued.

"But the one person I want to love me won't."

"So we're not enough for you?"

"I never said that."

"That's what it sounded like."

"I meant no one love loves me. All of the ones you named are just a friendly kind of love or a family. I want a true love." Jack explained.

"Jack, I understand that, but maybe it's not meant to be with Elsa. Maybe you're meant to be with someone else." Taylor encouraged. Jack flipped onto his side, facing her.

"Like who?" He questioned.

"What about Sharah? She seemed like a cool gal."

"No, she was wayyy to crazy for me." Jack replied.

"What the girl who painted your apartment? Ya know, the blondie." Taylor's offered.

"Married."

"Really?"

"She was the brunette chick on the show but then she dyed her hair back to its original color and yeah." Jack summarized.

"I think I understood what you meant. All I know is that she's married." Taylor replied.

"That's all you need to know."

"Well can you think of anyone else?" Taylor asked.

"That's just it, I can't. If you were a random stranger on the street and you asked me if I had found my soulmate I would tell you yes. If you asked what her named was, would say Elsa. There's no one else for me, even though she hates me."

"Well how did you get her to fall in love with you the first time?" Taylor questioned. Jack rambled on and on about his favorite parts of getting her to like him. "It seems to me that the way to get you two to like each other again is to make you two live with each other."

"Taylor, that's it!"

"I know, but how can we do it? It's not like she'll just let you waltz right back into her apartment. You'll need a reason." Taylor explained. They sat around coming up with crazy, unrealistic ideas until Jack thought of something.

"Wait, wait. My tv show. They want us to do a five years after thing. Maybe Elsa will let me back in then. All we have to do if agree to go on the show." Jack explained.

"You could write to them and tell them you say yes." Taylor offered.

"That's a good idea. Then I can fake her signature and they'll think she said yes too!" Jack cheered as he grabbed a pen and paper. He sat down on the couch, laying the paper on the coffee table.

"Wait, wait. Fake her signature? Isn't that against the law?" Taylor exclaimed as she rose an eyebrow at him. Jack waved the thought away as he began writing the letter.

"I've done it plenty of times. Besides, it's not hurting anyone. If anything, it's helping us." Jack shook off as he signed the paper. He finished signing their names. He held the paper up and kissed it. This was his saving grace.

"You're crazy, ya know that?" Taylor relied as she watched him hug the paper like a maniac.

"I'm not crazy, I'm a genius." Jack chuckled as he rubbed his hands together. He grabbed an envelope and placed his paper inside. He licked it shut, sealing the deal.

"An evil genius." Taylor teased, making Jack do his evil laugh. Taylor rolled her eyes at her best friend. He was crazy, crazy in love with Elsa. There was no way she would try to stop him from trying to get them back together.
