The next morning Callie helped her father down the stairs, they heard the water running and smelt burnt toast.

" No, no, no, " Archie repeated. They saw him running around the kitchen and Vegas eating whatever was on the floor.

"Do we need a fire extinguisher?" their dad asked, getting Archie's attention. 

"What are you two doing up? " Archie asked them. " I was going to bring you both breakfast."

"We appreciate it, son," their dad assured him.

" Dad's got to get to moving around sometime," Callie added. They saw Archie down an energy drink.

" Little early for that isn't it?" their dad asked.

" No, I'm good," Archie answered. " Dad, the only thing you need to be worrying about is getting better." Then Archie's phone started ringing, he picked it up. " Crap. I gotta take this. I gotta go. Bye."

Later Callie was at school, it was time for lunch, she sat at a table with Jughead, Betty, and Archie. She's been getting an outrageous amount of calls and texts from Reggie, she was trying to avoid him. Jughead was explaining about what happened at Pop's.

"It's another win for the bad guys. No one was there. His entire staff quit," Jughead explained. " He says he's not sure how long he'll be able to keep the doors open, maybe not even a week."

"It's because of what happened to our dad," Archie stated. " People are freaking out. And I gotta be honest, guys, I don't see myself going back any time soon."

"Wait, I'm sorry, am I hearing acceptance?" Callie asked. " I'm not letting one psychopath with a gun dictate what happens to our place"

" I agree with Callie," Betty spoke up. " Jug, you went crazy trying to save the drive-in."

" I can't take on any more social issues right now," Jughead admitted. " My hands are full." 

" With your dad, of course," Betty said. " And he should be your priority. I'll take point on helping Pop Tate."

" I will help," Callie said.

" Me three, Betty," Veronica volunteered. " Hey, anything to get me away from my parents, I'm in."

"Another Bee, Cee, and Vee team-up," Jughead smiled. " They should really make a video game about you guys." The girls giggled as Jughead stood up. " I gotta jet. I'm off to meet my dad's court-appointed joke of a lawyer at the Sheriff's station.

" I'm gonna come with you, Jug," Archie insisted. " I gotta crop some fliers off for Sheriff Keller."

"Bye," Veronica said as the boys left.

" So how are things with you and Reggie?" Betty asked.

"Not good," Callie admitted. " He's suddenly become extremely controlling and clingy."

"I hope you guys work it out," Veronica stated. " You are the whole school's otp."

"Cause that's not pressuring at all," Callie sassed. 

"It's the truth and you know it," Betty sided with Veronica.

"And if we do break up, then what happens?"Callie asked.

"You will break peoples hearts," Veronica answered. " But if necessary, you do whats best for you girl."

Callie now stood at her locker, when she feels a pair of arms wrap around her.

" Reggie," Callie smiled, she turned her head to see him, before kissing him.

"Why have you been ignoring my calls and texts?" Reggie asked as he closed her locker.

"Because of how many times you are calling is ridiculous," Callie admitted. " I woke up to 100 texts messages and 20 missed calls from you."

"Why didn't you pick any of them up?" Reggie as they made their way to class.

"I turned my phone off for the night," Callie answered. 

" Don't do it again," Reggie warned her. " Unless you want the words Serpent Slut on your locker."

"Reggie?" Callie gasped as she stopped walking. " Did you just threaten me?"

"It won't be the last time either," Reggie said. " Especially if I find out that if you are still friends with that slimy serpent."

Later that night Callie fell asleep on the couch, she woke up to the sound of creaking. She got up and quietly walked over, to the front, she saw her brother sitting on a sound box with a baseball bat in his hand. The door opened and Jugeda walked in, he immediately backed up.

"Whoa, whoa!" Jughead sounded.

" Jughead. Are you insane?" Archie asked him.

"Hey," Callie said walking towards them. 

" You're the one that looks like a Dream Warrior from Nightmare on Elm Street 3," Jughead stated.

"What did the lawyer say?" Callie asked.

" I've been walking around all night trying to wrap my head around how bad it is," Jughead admitted as he sat down. "It's bad. My dad is facing 20 years, Archie and Callie."

" Crap, Jughead, I'm sorry," Archie sympathsized. " That sucks."

" The lawyer thinks he should take the deal. And if he doesn't, and the case goes to trial, he could be facing 40 years. I'm just really, really scared."

" Yeah, me, too," Archie admitted. 

" Same," Callie asked.

" About what?" Jughead asked. The black hood came to Callie's mind, along with the memory a bag being put over her head.

Next day at school Callie was at Reggie's locker when Midge approached them.

" Midge Klump," Callie greeted her.

" The Klumpster," Reggie added.

" Callie, Reggie," Midge greeted the two. " What do you know about jingle-jangle?"

" I know you shouldn't say it so loud while we're on school property," Reggie warned her. " And that I score you some." 

"Who's it for?" Callie asked.

" Me and Moose," Midge answered.

"Let me see what I can do," Reggie told her. She smiled and walked away, Callie looked over and saw her brother standing in front of the counselor's office.

" What's on your mind, Archie?" Callie asked as they walked over to him.

" Girl troubles, scabies?" Reggie suggested.

"Why are you seeking guidance from Ms. Burble?" Callie asked with concern. 

"I'm not," Archie assured and as they walked down the hallway.

"Maybe you should," Reggie advised. " You look like my nuts after football practice."

" Very descriptive," Callie commented.

" Hey. Do you have anything that can help keep me awake?" Archie asked. 

" Many things," Reggie responded. " Amphetamines, Baclofen, Modafinil, jingle-jangle."

" Jingle-jangle?" Archie asked.

" That'll keep you up for days," Callie answered.

"In more ways than one," Reggie added. " But why do you need uppers, Wonder Bread?"

"Until the guy that shot my dad and kidnapped Callie is caught, I wanna be on high alert," Archie answered. " So, can you help me or not, Reggie?"

" I got you, Andrews," Reggie assured him. Archie then walked and took Callie with him.

"When did you start taking drugs?" Archie asked her.

" I don't," Callie answered. " But Reggie does, he is also a dealer, so I am kept up to date on all of them."

"Good," Archie stated before walking away. Callie shook her head and walked down the hall when a man with a bouquet of yellow flowers and a white box approached her.

"Do you by chance know where my daughter is?" the man asked. " Veronica Lodge."

" Oh. You are Veronica's dad...Hiram Lodge" Callie said. " Nice to meet you, um...she should be in the newspaper room."

" Thank you," Mr. Lodge said before walking away.

Later on, Callie was welcoming Josie to the team.

" You are gonna love being on the Vixens," Callie assured her.

"Will there be drama?" Josie asked.

" It's a cheerleader team. What's the cheer team without any drama?" Callie asked.

"You are so right girl," Josie laughed. Callie looked over to see Veronica and Betty walk in.

"There are Veronica and Betty, you should go say hello," Callie advised.

" Thanks, Cal," Josie smiled as she walked over there with Cheryl.

While in history class, Callie sat in front of Kevin as Principal Weatherbee stood at the front of the class.

" Can I have everyone's attention?" Principal Weatherbee asked, Callie, turned around from talking to Kevin and looked forward. " I have some tragic news to share. Ms. Grundy, who was a teacher here last semester, was found murdered in her Greendale home last night."

" Oh, my God," Kevin breathed.

" I know some of you were students of hers, and this news will be difficult to process," Principal Weatherbee added. Callie looked back to see tears forming in Archie's eyes, he packed up his stuff and left the classroom. "Mr. Andrews?"

Later at home, Callie sat on the couch with her dad while Archie went on a rant.

" First, Callie gets kidnapped, then you get shot and now Ms. Grundy is murdered. All within a matter of days. Dad, what if some crazy person is going after the people that I care about?" Archie ranted. " What? you think I'm nuts?"

" No, son, I think you're scared," their dad admitted. " Understandably so. Truth is, son, we don't know anything about what happened to Ms. Grundy."

" She's dead, she was killed," Archie stated in tears. " Right across Sweetwater River."

" We know," Callie breathed.

" It was a horrible thing," their dad added.

" Don't you wanna find out who did this?" Archie asked. " Who's doing this?"
