Chapter 19
*** Callie's hair and dress are in the pictures above***
The next day Callie sat in her room as her mom did her hair.
"I haven't done your hair since the daddy-daughter dance," her mom stated.
"And I wouldn't let you touch, so I ran from you for a good hour," Callie laughed.
" I had to negotiate with you, if I got to do your hair, then you got to stay at the Coopers longer to hang out with Betty," her mom laughed. Callie smiled dropped a little and she looked at the desk. " What happened between you and Betty? You two were the best of friends when I left, and now you are best friends with Cheryl Blossom."
" We got into a fight a stupid fight freshmen year, " Callie answered. " I made the cheer team and she didn't. She said I shouldn't accept the Vixens, cause we always wanted to do something together. But I didn't listen and I became a Vixen."
" Is that all?" her mom asked.
" During my days as a Vixen," Callie began. " I became really good friends with Cheryl, she told me that Betty was not a very good friend, Cheryl said if I ever want to be top of the food chain at school, I need to be friends with people like her, Ginger and Tina, not Betty."
"Do you regret it?" her mom asked.
"Becoming a vixen, no. But losing Betty yes," Callie answered. " But we are slowly becoming friends again."
" Sweetie," her mom said as finished her hair. " You are the boss of your own decisions, not Cheryl. Don't let her boss you around."
"I won't Callie assured her with a smile.". After her mom finished her hair, she left the room and Jughead walked in.
"Ready for the dinner for the Coopers?" Callie asked as she put earrings on.
"Yeah, " Jughead answered. " I really would love to have our families bond. You excited for the dance?"
" Yeah," Callie smiled. " I love looking good."
" Well as somebody that is basically another brother to you," Jughead said. " If Reggie tries anything, he'll have to get through me." Callie laughed and shook her head.
" He will have both you and Archie to go through," Callie pointed out. Later that night Callie was dressed and ready to go for the homecoming dance the doorbell rang. Archie already left earlier that day with Veronica and Jughead was next door.
"I'll get it," her dad volunteered. He walked over and opened it revealing Reggie.
" Hello, Mr. Andrews," Reggie greeted as her dad let him in. "Ms. Andrews." He kissed her mother's hand and gave her a bouquet of flowers.
"A true gentlemen," her mom laughed as Reggie went over to Callie. He gave her a quick peck on the lips.
"You all look amazing," Reggie told everyone.
" You look pretty cleaned up yourself," Callie's dad commented.
" Let me snap a quick picture," her mom suggested as she took out her phone.
" Mom," Callie smiled.
" One quick picture," she assured her daughter. Reggie and Callie both possed a for the picture."You two look incredible. Another one. This time you two put your flowers on each other." The two did as they were told with a smile before they could leave.
" We will see you both at the dance," Callie told her parents as the two headed out.
"Drive safe," her dad advised Reggie.
" Always do Mr. A," Reggie assured him as the door closed behind them. " Have your mom send you that picture, and then send it to me."
" I will," Callie smiled.
"This is our first homecoming together I think,"Reggie said as he helped her into the car. He closed the door before climbing in on the driver's side.
"Are you nervous?" Callie asked.
"Me? Captain of the Bulldogs nervous?" Reggie questioned. '"Never." He leaned over and kissed her before starting up the car to go to the dance. When they got to the dance, Callie was immediately greeted by Cheryl.
" Can I steal her for a minute?" Cheryl asked.
"Take your time," Reggie answered. " Just not too long." Cheryl pulled Callie away so they can talk.
"What is it?" Callie asked.
"So my dad says he should have nurturing me into the family business instead of Jason," Cheryl told her.
"That's great," Callie smiled. " That means they finally think you have the potential."
"Yeah, and they said that Jason never wanted the family business, he wanted nothing to do with the Blossom family, well that's what daddy says," Cheryl explained.
"Did he say why?" Callie asked.
"Just that Jason didn't want it," Cheryl responded. Callie looked around to see someone was missing.
"Where's Polly?" Callie asked.
"Mommie said that she was agitated, so she put a relaxer in her daily milkshake," Cheryl answered. "Nothing to harm the babies, she won't wake up until tomorrow morning." They looked over to see Reggie looking at them. " Go, your knight in shining armor is waiting for you."
"I will talk to you later," Callie assured before reuniting with her boyfriend. They danced for a bit, Callie went over to the punch bowl to get something to drink.
"Hey Kev, Cal," Betty greeted as she walked up to them, Callie looked up to Kevin at the punch bowl as well. " Have you seen Veronica or Archie? Never mind I see them." Betty grabbed Callie and dragged her along. She then stopped when they saw the two talking to Mrs. Cooper.
" I don't like the looks of that," Betty growled. " What the hell?" Mayor McCoy began talking to Betty about an internship, but Callie could tell Betty was focused on her mom and Veronica talking about something. Betty denied walking Mayor McCoy up to the stage and dragged Callie with her. Over to Archie, Jughead, and Veronica.
"Where were you guys?" Callie asked.
" We stopped...we stopped at Pop's," Archie answered, Callie, raised her eyebrow, she could tell he was lying.
"And what were you just talking to my mom about?" Betty asked.
"Betty..." Veronica began.
"Guys, can we table this?" Archie asked. " We gotta get ready. Come on." Archie led Veronica to the stage as Callie made her way back over to Reggie, he happily pulled her near to him when he saw her.
"Friends, students, and alumni," Mayor McCoy greeted from the stage. " I hope you brought your dancing shoes. Please join me in welcoming to the stage Riverdale High's very own Archie Andrews and Veronica Lodge!" Everyone cheered. They started to sing Kids to the Future. Callie took a picture and a video on her phone.
"Archie and Veronica are getting flirty," Reggie pointed out.
" I agree," Callie agreed. She looks over to see Cheryl leaving the gym in tears. " Cheryl?" Callie went after her, but Cheryl was faster. By the time she got outside the gym, Cheryl was already gone, she then retreated back inside the gym to listen to the rest of the song. Soon a slow song was being to play.
"Would you take my hand in this dance?" Reggie asked.
"Always,"Callie smiled up at him. They took positions and slowed danced with each other.
"You are so beautiful," Reggie complimented. " I am so lucky."
" And you are so good looking, captain of the football team," Callie complimented. " I am the lucky one here." At that moment Jughead walked up to them.
"Have you seen Betty?" Jughead asked.
"No, do you need help looking for her?" Callie asked.
"That would be great," Jughead answered.
"I'll go get us some punch," Reggie said. The two kissed before Callie went off with Jughead. They soon found Kevin dancing with Joaquin.
"Hey, guys, sorry to interrupt," Callie greeted them.
"Have you seen Betty anywhere?" Jughead asked.
"You all need tracking devices," Kevin stated, he looked back before looking at them again. " I think she was headed out to the hall with Veronica and maybe Archie."
"Thanks," Jughead said, the two headed out to the hall. They walked out into the hall, they soon found the three of them.
"Guy," Callie said.
"Betty," Jughead said. Betty turned around to look at them.
" What's going on?" Callie asked.
"Why do I feel like I'm suddenly left out?" Jughead asked. Betty then turned and looked at the other two.
"Do you want to tell him or should I?" Betty asked them.
"Tell me what?" Jughead asked. Archie walked around Betty until he was in front of Jughead and Callie... Then Veronica followed his lead.
" We went to your dad's trailer..." Archie began.
" To search it, Jughead," Veronica added.
"Why would you guys do that?" Jughead asked.
"My mom put them up to it," Betty informed him. " He was convinced that he was hiding something about Jason."
"We were wrong. All of us. We didn't find anything," Veronica said.
"And Jug, we were only doing it to prove that..." Archie continued.
" That my dad wasn't a murderer?" Jughead asked angrily. " You went behind my back, Archie?"
"Jug," Archie began.
" How did you...When did you guys know to go to my dad's trailer?" Jughead asked.
" We knew he'd be at the dinner with..." Veronica began to explain. Jughead looked at Betty before walking away.
"No..." Betty breathed. She walked forward and Jughead turned back around.
" That's why your mom invited my dad and I to dinner?" Jughead asked Betty. " So these two could break into his trailer while she interrogated him?"
"No, I didn't know what they were doing," Betty answered." But yes, that is why she invited you guys."
" To think I was gonna pass on moving to Toledo with my family for you," Jughead said.
" What?" Betty gasped.
"When we went to my dad's trailer, you asked me if I believed him," Jughead ranted. " I said I did. Wasn't that good enough for you?"
"It was. It was good enough for," Betty answered reaching for him, but Jughead pulled away. " I didn't...I tried to stop her."
" You could've told me, you could've warned me about this," Jughead said.
"You were so excited, Jug, I didn't want to disappoint you," Betty cried.
"So instead you lied?" Jughead asked. " You all lied to me?"
" I didn't even know what was going on, " Callie defended herself.
"There they are," Kevin said from down the hall. They all turned to see Kevin with the parents.
"Betty. Thank God," Mrs. Cooper said.
"Mom, don't..." Betty said.
" No, you have to listen," Mrs. Cooper demanded. " All of you."
" My dad just told Mayor McCoy about your dad, Jughead," Kevin announced.
"What about my dad?" Jughead asked.
" He was just arrested," their dad answered. " For the murder of Jason Blossom." Jughead soon ran out of the building.

When they got home, Callie stood in the kitchen with her mom and Archie.
"FP has always had his demons," their mom stated.
"I really thought he'd changed, Mom, I thought..." Archie trailed off.
" It's very hard for people to change, Archie," their mom stated. " You know after I heard you play, and before everything happened, I was going to ask you and Callie to come to Chicago with me. To stay." Archie and Callie looked at each other. " You could study music, and you could study whatever you wish to study."
" We are not even thinking about that right now, Mom," Callie said.
" No, I know," their mom said. " It's just, I want you two with me. I don't think that this town is safe anymore. I feel like Riverdale is getting ready, to slide off of a mountainside, and I don't want you two anywhere around when that happens. Just promise me you'll at least think about it."
" Yeah, we will," Archie answered. Then the two left to go meet up with Veronica at Pop's.
"He's being framed," Callie stated. " FP is not a killer."
"I think the same thing," Archie answered. " That gun wasn't there when me and Veronica searched his trailer."
" So that means the killer is still out there?" Callie asked. Archie nodded his head
