Chapter 1

It was the night before the first day of school, Callie was on the phone with Reggie when Archie came up to her door.

"I'll call you right back Reg," Callie said as she hung up the phone. "Going out with Nancy Drew?"

"We are just catching up at pops," Archie rolled his eyes at her. "And it's Betty."

"Just don't stay out too late Arch, it is the first day tomorrow," Callie informed. "And you have football tryouts."

"Shhh!" Archie shushed her. "I have not exactly told dad yet."

"If you don't tell him, then I will," Callie threatened. "Reg is counting on you to be there."

"Fine," Archie sighed. "I better go, I don't want to keep Betty waiting," Archie said before leaving the room. As soon as he left, her phone rang it; she looked down to see it was from Cheryl.

"Hey," Callie answered the phone as she sat down in the chair.

"So apparently, we have a new girl in town," Cheryl informed.

"I know, me and Nancy Drew are giving her a tour of the school tomorrow," Callie reminded her.

"Remember I am the Queen B, and from what I heard that little skank is very rich," Cheryl gossiped.

"Don't worry," Callie laughed. "I will have it all under control." Callie looked up to see her dad standing in the doorway. "I will get back to you; papa bear is here." She hangs up the phone. "Hey, dad."

"Hey pumpkin," Fred Andrews smiled walking into the room. "Was that Reggie?"

"Cheryl," Callie corrected.

"You have a been an amazing friend to her Cal," her dad said leaning against her dresser. "With her brother's death and everything."

"She needs support and a shoulder to cry on," Callie explained. "She may seem heartless, but she is not."

"I know," he nodded. "Your mother would be so proud of you."

"You think?" Callie asked a little agitated at the mention of her mother.

"I know that tone," her dad warned. "I am leaving you alone before it gets worse."

At Pop's when Veronica meets Betty and Archie.

"Veronica Lodge," She introduced.

"Archie Andrews," Archie introduced. "Uh, this Betty Cooper."

"Wait, are you," Veronica began.

"Supposed to give you your tour tomorrow? Yes. I'm your peer mentor," Betty informed smiling at her.

"My sister is helping as well, Callie Andrews," Archie informed. "Do you want to join us? Hey, maybe we can un-fill you with dread."

"My mom's waiting for me," Veronica smiled at him. "But, to be continued."

"Yeah," Archie smiled. When Archie gets home, he goes into Callie's room as she is taking off her face mask.

"How was your date?" Callie asked.

"It wasn't a date, it was two friends catching up," Archie groaned. "I told her how I grew an interest in music, she told me about her internship. Then this girl showed up".

"Oh?" Callie questioned as Archie plopped on her bed in a daydream. "What was her name?"

"Veronica Lodge," Archie fantasized.

"Veronica Lodge as in the one I am giving tour tomorrow with Betty?" Callie questioned.

"Yeah," Archie smiled.

"What was she like?" Callie asked as walked over to her closet to lay out her outfit for tomorrow.

"Hot, rich looking, "Archie listed. "She came from New York with her mom," he then stood back up. "I better go get ready for bed."

"For music, you can always talk to Josie and the Pussycats or Miss Grundy," Callie advised.

"Thanks, Cal," Archie smiled as he walked out the door. She then walked over and closed it and quickly called Cheryl.

"What is it mini-me?" Cheryl asked.

"The girl I am giving a tour tomorrow came from New York," Callie informed. "Isn't her dad Hiram Lodge?"

"Hold up," Cheryl breathed. "I will look it up real fast." Callie hears the clicking of a keyboard. "Her dad was arrested for fraud and embezzlement."

"I will send a text to one of the vixens," Callie began. "Word should be spread out through this town before the sun rises tomorrow."

"You are making me so proud mini-me," Cheryl cheered, the phone call ends. Callie then shoots a text to one of the vixens, and the damage started to spread like a wildfire.

The next day Callie is downstairs waiting for Archie so they could go to school.

"Hurry up Archie! I am supposed to be meeting Reggie by the flagpole!" Callie demanded.

"Sorry sis, I don't revolve around your love schedule," Archie rolled his eyes coming down the stairs. " Hey, dad. First day of school and I'm already late". He walked passed by Callie and acknowledge their dog Vegas first.

" You mean we are already late," Callie corrected him as she followed Archie into the kitchen to see their dad in the dining room. Their dad looked at Archie first.

"Hey, you, uh, you stopping by the site later?" Their dad asked Archie.

" Dad, it's my first day," Archie reminded him.

" Oh, we got to get you going in the office with Callie," Their dad proposed. " So next summer you're not on crew."

" He can't he's got football tryouts," Callie blurted out, Archie glared at her.

"Or is that not okay?" Archie asked with concern looking back at their dad.

" No, it's, uh...It's okay. Good luck," Fred Andrews wished to Archie.

"I can stop by daddy," Callie offered.

"It's alright pumpkin," Fred Andrews smiled at her. " Good luck at cheerleading tryouts."

"Thanks, daddy," Callie smiled before leaving with Archie.

When they got to school, Callie immediately met up with Reggie at the flagpole.

"Babe," Reggie greeted kissing her lips. " How was your summer?"

"You should know Reg," Callie smiled. "You were there for most of it."

"How could I forget?" Reggie asked leaning back a little with his arms wrapped around her. "Escapically that one night. When you told papa Fred that you would be with Cheryl for the weekend, but you were actually with me-"

"Let us not let the whole school know about our weekend," Callie giggled covering her boyfriend's mouth. Reggie unwrapped his arms from her waist. He took her hand from his mouth and held it with one of his own.

"Let's go my little strawberry, do not want to make you late," Reggie suggested. They soon got into the school and made their way through the hallways.

"Bro," Reggie started as they landed at Archie's locker. He had a book in his hands. "You are ready for football. I'm not kidding you, dude. You got ripped. Dude, you're a beast". Reggie grabbed one of Archie's arms. "Look at this arm; it's diesel! How much are you benching like 220? 225? "

"You should give him some tips Archie," Callie advised.

"Romanian deadlifts, right? Taking some T?" Reggie continued to question. Archie contniued to remain silent and leave Reggie guessing until Archie told him the truth.

"It's from working construction, Reg," Archie admitted as the three started down the hallway.

"Oh, yeah, yeah, that' right," Reggie recalled.

"Yo, Moose," Callie greeted making Moose walk over to them.

"Look who grew up over the summer," Reggie added as he slugged Moose in the arm.

"Hey!" Moose greeted.

"Yo be honest with me," Reggie began. " You work on any houses? Any private homes?"

"Yeah, a couple," Archie answered.

"Did you tap some cougar ass over the summer?" Reggie asked.

"Reggie," Callie groaned rolling her eyes.

"Sorry babe, but I got to now," Reggie told her.

" You know what I think that's more of fantasy," Archie told Reggie. "From your wank-bank, Reggie".

"We all know his wang-bank fantasy is this little strawberry at his side," Moose snickered causing Archie to glare at him. "I want to know what these two did this summer".

"Callie, you have a new girl to show around. I suggest you do not be late," Archie growled before walking away.

"I'll see you later babe," Callie told Reggie, they kissed before separating.

"How did you get the hottest girl in school?" Moose asked as they headed to class.

"Easy," Reggie smiled as he watched his girlfriend walk away.

******

Callie currently started to walk out of the office with Betty and the new girl.

"I am Callie Andrews," Callie introduced. " One of your other tour guides."

"Veronica Lodge," The girl greeted as they shook hands. Callie noticed how fancy girl was dressed and the pearl necklace around her neck.

"Nancy Drew here usually starts the tours with a little history and context," Callie stated.

"And that's my cue," Betty smiled. "Riverdale High first opened its doors in 1941 and-"

"And hasn't been redecorated since, apparently," Veronica cut her off as she looked at the interior design of the school.

"Honestly I feel like I'm wandering through the lost epilogue of Our Town."The three girls looked at each other before giggling.

"So what's the social scene like here? Any nightclubs?"Veronica asked.

"That's Callie's expertise," Betty admitted

"Not as much as Kevin," Callie smiled as she sensed Kevin from behind them.

"A strip club called the Ho Zone, and a tragic gay bar called the Innuendo," Kevin listed as he walked in front of them.

"Friday nights, football games," Callie added.

"And then tailgate parties at the Mallmart parking lot," Kevin added. " Saturday night is movie night, regardless of what's playing at the Bijou, and you better get there early, cause we don't have reserve seating in Riverdale and Sunday nights." Kevin made his way around to Betty.

"Thank God for HBO." Callie finished as Kevin slung his arm around Betty.

"Veronica Lodge, Kevin Keller," Betty introduced the two.

"Veronica is new here," Callie began. " And Kevin here is-"

"Gay, thank God," Veronica smiled happily. "Let's be best friends." She shook Kevin's hand.

"Is it true what they say about your dad?" Kevin asked. Callie pretended to act surprised when in fact she knew she was the one to send that text.

"That he's the devil incarnate?"Veronica questioned. "I stand by my father. Does everyone here know?" She crossed her arms a little angrily.

" Just about," Callie blurted out, Betty and Kevin glared at her.

"Wonderful," Veronica sighed angrily as she looked up at the ceiling. " Ten minutes and I'm already the Blue Jasmine of Riverdale High." The three girls walked away from Kevin as he stood there innocently. A while later, Betty and Kevin were still giving a Veronica the educational tour.

"Oh and of course there's the back to school semi-formal dance this weekend," Callie added to make the tour more interesting.

"Oh," Veronica gasped as she pulled Betty and Callie closed to her."There's the hottie Betty, and I was with last night". They looked down the hallway and saw Archie. "The red-headed Ansel Elgort. Is he your boyfriend".

"No, he's straight/ No, we're just friends," Kevin and Betty said at the same time.

"What about you?" Veronica asked Callie.

"Ew," Callie scrunched her face in disgust. "He's my twin brother." Callie noticed a sign of relief on the new girl's face.

"In that case, mind putting in word?" Veronica asked Callie. " I've tried every flavor of boy, but orange."

Actually, to clarify," Kevin began. "Betty and Archie aren't dating, but they are endgame."

"You should ask him to the semiformal then," Veronica advised.

"She should, but I heard it might be getting canceled," Kevin gossiped.

"Because of what happened to Jason," Callie added. " They are going to tell us at the assembly, the one that Cheryl will be talking in."

"Who's Jason and what happened to him?" Veronica asked.

"Just wait for the assembly," Callie advised. " Then you will find out." Soon they headed into the gymnasium for the assembly.
