Aaron's POV

We were walking hand in hand out of the old, abandoned school. I can't believe they just let it go to waste, it was still in pretty good condition. The administration said there was a problem with the plumbing, but everyone knows that's not the real case. There were rumors that a girl had died in one of the bathrooms. ( HARRY POTTER REFERENCES ) Which would connect with the story with the plumbing.

For a while I just continued to stare at the gravel and dirt road exit away from the school. I started recounting everything that had happened in the last few weeks, me leaving, Aphmau's mom, me leaving again from my so called "family". I couldn't understand how I thought they could change. I hadn't seen my dad once since I tried to reconnect with them.

"Hey Aaron..." I forgot what I was thinking about entirely and turned my head to look at the angel beside me. "Yeah Aph?" I said giving her a slight smile. I could still make out the tear stains on her cheeks from her crying. Seeing her cry alone was depressing, but to know he had caused her to cry was the worst thing he could ever experience.

"Umm, how have you been?" My heart shattered for a second as I realized something. We hadn't talked, if you don't count right now, for over two weeks. All this time when I'd been trying to reconnect with my family I had been ignoring someone who was always there for me when they weren't. I mentally cursed myself before I noticed Aphmau was still waiting for an answer.

"To be honest... I missed you so much." I told her as I pulled her in for a loving hug, wrapping my arms around her waist, never wanting to let her go. I knew she had started crying again when I felt my shirt sleeve getting damp and wet. "Aaron..." she choked out "I missed you so much..." For a while we just stood their together, holding each other.

I got kind of surprised when Aphmau let out a laugh. "Our fur babies missed you." I smiled "Well, let's get back to see them." I told her, pulling away and planting a loving kiss on her soft lips. We continued on the trail, holding hands, with me feeling much happier than I had in three weeks.

*🍪TIME SKIP CAUSE COOKIES 🍪*

We were both laying in my bed staring at the ceiling, just talking to each other. It was... nice. We talked about old memories together, our favorite foods, Anna vs Elsa...
"Anna just wanted some time with her sister! Elsa just ran away!" "Elsa is an independent woman! She didn't 'fall in love' over night like Anna!"

Aphmau hmph before turning over so I couldn't see her face. "Awww if Aphmoo upset cause she knows Elsa is be-" before I could finish she sprung up and tackled me, pinning my hands down. She sitting on my chest so I couldn't move up. I struggled slightly, before flipping her over so I had her pinned to the bed.

She stuck her tongue out at me. I just rolled my eyes and laughed. When I looked at her a saw she had gone silent. "Her Aaron can I... sleep with you tonight?" I sat there, dumbfounded for a minute before returning back from la la land. I unpinned her hands from the bed and she sat up"Yeah, of course, I wouldn't mind." She smiled and ran to the the bathroom and before shutting the door said, "I'm going to change!"

I quickly changed into my pajamas and sat on the bed, waiting until she returned. "I'm back!" She opened the door about a minute after I had changed. She was wearing her normal clothes with a bunny on her shirt. I pulled the covers off my bed as she dived towards her claimed side. As we both settled under the covers I was pure silence until Aphmau spoke.

"I love you Aaron..."

"I love you too Aphmau."

And with that we both drifted into sleep, finally at rest for having each other again.
