No, Nandini doesn't have Corona or any other disease. It was a very much normal fever.

Nandini eyes flickered open as the first ray of sunshine entered inside the room. She tried to move only to moan at the ache she felt in her whole body.

Fever drained out most of her energy. She let out a small sigh and finally opened her eyes. It was then Nandini felt a hand slightly running in her hair. She frowned at looked at the side only to find Manik sleeping in the sitting position, his hand still moving in her hair.

Nandini: Manik?

She called out, it was a mere whisper and she could hardly hear herself but Manik did. His eyes jerked open the next moment as he stared down at her.

Manik: Nandini- Are you fine?

He checked her forehead by the back of his palm and let out a sigh finding it completely normal.

Nandini: I- I am fine.

Manik: Sure, you are. You were shivering, Nandini! Do you know how scared I was?

Nandini: Sorry-

Manik: Nandini- damn! You- stupid woman!

He muttered, cupping the side of her cheek and placing his lips on her forehead firmly. He hated seeing her sick, it made him feel sick too. Nandini giggled in his hold as he hugged her close to his heart, contented that she was fine now.

As he pulled away after a moment, Nandini noticed the slight bags under his eyes. He looked tired and exhausted. Suddenly, all her body ache jumped out of the window seeing his worn out figure.

Nandini: Manik, Aap saari raat nahi soye?

Manik: You were burning in fever, you think I would have slept peacefully?

Nandini: Manik, Fine. You are so stubborn. Come here now.

She gestured him to lay down and as he did, she patted his head softly.

Nandini: I am fine now. You can sleep without any worry.

Manik: But tum-

Nandini: Manik- I am fine.

She assured again. He finally agreed and turned around to snuggle in her to sleep. Nandini smiled running her hand through his hair and watched him fall sleep in her embrace.

He looked so innocent, so adorable just like a small child sleeping without any worry of the world. A sudden sense of protecting him rushed through her. She bend down and placed a protective kiss on his head. He smiled in sleep recognising her touch.

Nandini layed there for around fifteen minutes more. She didn't want to get up for her body still ached but she had no other choice. She had to go to the hospital for work. She couldn't skip that.

She let out a small sigh before leaving the bed and got freshened up. Maybe a long relaxing shower might help her.

Nandini was not wrong afterall. The shower did help her, atleast to a great extent. As she got ready, she glanced at Manik who was in deep slumber, his blanket thrown on the floor mercilessly. She shook her head in disbelief before covering him properly and left the room.

Niyonika was in the kitchen today. Whenever any one got sick in the family, she would take it on herself to make the breakfast for the person. And since Nandini was not well today, she was here.

She was cutting the fruits when she felt two small feminine arms wrapping around her from behind. Niyonika chuckled, instantly recognising the touch and fragrance of her dear daughter.

Nandini: Good Morning, Maa.

Niyonika: Good Morning, bacha. How do you feel now? your fever?

She turned around and just as Manik had in the morning, she checked her forehead for temperature in the same way. Nandini couldn't help the smile that came on her face seeing it.

Nandini: Maa, you and Manik both are same. Relax. I am fine and what are you doing? Do I remind you again you are not allowed here?

Niyonika: And do I remind you, you are sick and need rest? Why did you come down so early?

Nandini: Maa, I have to go hospital.

Niyonika: Nandini-

Nandini: Maa, I can't skip today. Please.

She pleaded with puppy eyes and Niyonika sighed before turning around again and went back to cutting the fruits.

Niyonika: Fine, only because it can not be skipped.

Nandini nodded and came at the side to help her but before she could even touch the pan, Niyonika slapped her hand.

Niyonika: What are you doing? Go and sit outside, I will get you a cup of tea.

Nandini: But Maa-

Niyonika: Go before I call your monster husband. Speaking of him, where is he?

Nandini: He is sleeping, Maa. Let me sleep, he didn't even sleep last night.

Niyonika nodded and Nandini went to the hall knowing her mother in law wouldn't budge at all.

Nandini came in the hall and at the same time Cabir walked down the stairs. His entire attention was on the cuffs of his sleeve he was setting that he failed to notice Nandini standing there.

Nandini's mind at an instant remembered the conversation between her and Manik or even Cabir ignoring her in their room and then later at the dining table. Now that Nandini knew why was he ignoring her, she felt it better not to budge him.

Navya seemed to have problem with her now a days, and Cabir being her husband obviously had to take her side.

She let out a sigh when Cabir suddenly noticed her and walked in the kitchen to avoid her. Nandini didn't say a word too though it did hurt her deep down.

She silently sat there calling Sasha and in the meantime Raj and Mukti too reached there. Done with her call, she passed them a smile and greeted them.

Raj: Nandini, beta how are you feeling now?

Nandini: I am fine, dad. Nothing to worry.

Mukti: What happened to you, Bhabhi?

Nandini: Just normal fever, Mukti. I am all fine now.

Nandini chuckled in her mind. She had been repeating these three words 'I am fine' from the morning. It didn't irritate her though for she knew they all were genuinely worried for her.

Mukti nodded her head, worry still evident on her face as she walked to her and touched her forehead to check herself. Nandini shook her head in disbelief and opened her mouth to say something but stopped as she saw Cabir walk out of the kitchen in haste.

What surprised her more was, he was looking at her directly. Within seconds he was infront of her, sitting on his knees holding her hand.

Cabir: Bhabhi, A-Aap theek ho?

Cabir shuttered, suddenly remembering how he was supposed to avoid her but the the moment his mother told him how Nandini had high fever yesterday, he couldn't help but make sure she was fine now.

Nandini: I am fine.

Nandini smiled, pulling her hand out of his hold and Cabir hung down his head. He silently stood up and nodded.

Cabir: Take care, Bhabhi.

Nandini: Yeah. I will come.

She smiled faintly and left the place immediately. She could hear Mukti asking Cabir the matter from behind.

She sighed, and decided to help Niyonika.

Okay, Fruits were delicious and healthy, Nandini was not denying but fruits for breakfast? No. A big No. So as Niyonika handed her the big bowl containing atleast five types of different fruits, all Nandini did was look at her with a huge frown sitting on her face.

Niyonika: What? You have to finish all these.

Nandini: All this?

Niyonika: Yes, all this. Do it before I decide to call Manik and you know he is way more strict then me when it comes to your health.

Nandini made a bad face and she picked up a big piece of apple from the bowl and shoved it in her mouth. If Manik came down at this moment, he would not hesitate to scold her like a small child infront of the whole family. Niyonika gave a teasing smile as she patted her head before taking her seat.

Everyone seemed to have fun at her expenses. She heard Mukti and Raj giggling from the side. Cabir was smiling too, while Navya seemed concerned for her, although she didn't say a word to her.

With a great difficulty and a small portion of creativity that included eating one big fruit and one small from the bowl, Nandini decided she was done. She huffed and pushed the bowl aside.

Nandini: I am full.

Niyonika: Nandini!

Nandini: Maa, please! You are being strict more than Manik now!

She whined and at the same time Manik came from behind and cleared his throat. Nandini almost jumped from her seat at his sudden entry. She smiled at him like a kid who is caught while stealing. Manik, shaking his head in disbelief came and sat beside her eyeing the bowl.

Nandini did try to pull on a puppy face, but who was she kidding? Manik wouldn't compromise with her health. He continued to stare at her until she picked up the bowl in defeat and started eating again.

He smiled and greeted everyone then.

Niyonika: I was certainly better.

Niyonika murmured under her breathe but Nandini heard it. She made a bad face and continued eating.

Post breakfast, Nandini wanted to run away. Yes, she wanted to run away because now she was being forced to drink the full glass of milk and Nandini hated the smell the milk.

She glared at Manik who had reminded Niyonika of it.

Manik: What? You also do the same when I fall sick.

The nerve of this man! He steals kisses here and there after that but was taking revenge from her.

Nandini: Maaa-

Niyonika: No excuses, Nandini. Manik is right, you are getting careless day by day. You skip meals, you don't eat healthy at all.

She scolded and Nandini heard everything silently with her head bend down. Manik who was earlier enjoying it now genuinely felt bad. He sighed and eyed Niyonika not to say anything. Niyonika tried to argue but he blinked his eyes and asked her to go.

She sighed and walked away leaving the couple alone. As she did, Manik walked and stood infront of her. Sensing it, she bend down her head more.

Manik: Nandini?

Nandini: I am not careless.

She sniffed making him sigh.

Manik: Maa didn't mean it. She cares for you baby. Okay, look at me.

She shook her head, sniffing again making him chuckle. He kept his finger under her chin and pushed it up to make her look at him.

Manik: When I fall sick, Don't you feed me all the healthy stuff and scold me? Maa scolds me too.

Nandini: Haa because you are careless, I am not.

Manik: Okay fine baba. I am sorry.

He held his ears. She shook her head removing his hands.

Nandini: I am sorry.

Manik: It is okay. Now, drink this milk, atleast half the glass?

Nandini: and the remaining half?

Manik: I will drink it and tell Maa you had full, happy?

She grinned nodding her head. Within seconds she gulped down the half glass and handed him the remaining. Manik chucked and drank it in one go.

He kept the glass on side and cupped her cheek.

Manik: Now, you will keep updating me about your health. You won't even skip a single meal and trust me I will know if you did and make sure you eat double of that, okay?

He added sternly and she bobbed her head, scared that he will actually do that. Manik smiled and patted her cheek.

Manik: Good girl. Be safe, take care.

Nandini nodded with a small smile and he kissed her head in return with a chuckle.

Manik: And Don't run-

And even before he could complete, Nandini ran out of the house since she was getting late while Manik only shook his head following her out.

Probably, she was really in mood of getting scolded today.
