"Are Elena and Jeremy up yet?" Jenna asked as she walked into the kitchen where her oldest niece stood.

"Not yet Jen." Allison said flipping her pancake. "Coffees on, and I'm making pancakes."

"Sweet." Jenna said as she began to look through her things. "Morning Elena." Jenna looks up and smiles at her other niece.

"Morning Aunt Jenna, whatcha makin AJ?" Elena asks filling her coffee mug.

"Pancakes to celebrate my last year of high school. Want some?" Allison asks turning to her younger sibling.

"All about the coffee sis." Elena says as Jeremy walks in.

"Is there coffee?" He asks taking Elena's cup. "Hmm choco pancakes."

"You're first day of school and I'm totally unprepared. Lunch money?" Jenna asks handing out money. Elena shakes her head while Jeremy and Allison both grab two twenties. "Anything else? Number two pencil? What am I missing?" Jenna asks looking around.

"Presentation, you're due." Allison says at the same time Elena replies.

"Don't you have a big presentation today?"

"I'm meeting with my thesis advisor at...now. Crap!"

"Then go. We'll be fine." Jenna nods and rushes out. Elena turns to Jeremy. "You okay?" She asks and Jeremy rolls his eyes.

"Don't start. I'm riding with AJ." He says before kissing his oldest sister's cheek before going to get ready.

"Are you okay Lena?" Allison asks finishing up the pancakes for her and Jeremy.

"I have to be right?" Elena asks as a car horn beeps. "That's Bonnie....I'll see you at school." Elena says and rushes out making Allison shake her head.

"Jer! Pancakes!" Allison yells and down her brother comes with his stuff. "Try to keep it easy on the drugs. Jen and Lena are getting fed up." Allison mentions as she sits next to him.

"And you're not?"

"Hey I went through the drug phase too. I still do weed but that's it. It'd be hypocritical to get upset with you Jer. It's only been six months....yeah we weren't close to mom and dad as Elena was but we still feel the pain." Allison tells him as she bites into her pancake. "Also got any weed? I'm out." Allison asks/tells him and he chuckles before pulling out a baggie.

"I can get more at school."

"How much?" Allison asks as she smells the baggie, it smells better than her dealer.

"$20 a kilo." Jeremy tells his sister who grunts pulling out one of her twenties. "Peppermint or grape?"

"Peppermint of course." Jeremy nods and they finish their breakfast before grabbing their bags. "Hey, I love you kid." Allison said pulling her brother to her side.

"I love you to AJ." She smiled at that and got into the driver seat of her SUV while Jeremy got in the passenger seat.

"So...Vicki Donovan up for talk or...."

"Not pile."

"Alright just be careful, she is my semi-friend." Allison jokes and Jeremy smiles, happy to see his older sister coming out of the shell she had been in. When they reach the school Jeremy kisses her cheek and rushes off making her shake her head as she parks.

"You're late." Caroline says making Allison jump a little.

"Fuck, Care scare me why don'cha." Allison sighs turning to face the younger girl.

"It's your senior year Ally."

"I know, you see Lena?"

"Of course, now how are you?" Caroline asks her best friend in the whole world. Even though Caroline loves Elena and Bonnie, she has always got along with the older girl.

"Better, I made pancakes...stopped heavy drugs and am only smoking weed in moderation." Allison tells her with a sigh.

"Good." Caroline says smiling brightly. "Now let's go. I got your scheduled already. Perks of being me." Allison laughs as looks over to see Jeremy with Vicki and Tyler.

"Shit..."

"Brother dealing?"

"Yeah but that's not what I'm worried about." Allison tells her sighing. "He's going through the same phase I did and nothing made me stop till I wanted to."

"Just keep an eye on him right?" Caroline asked remembering when Allison went through the whole drug is everything phase. Always coming to school high or drunk and partying every night.

"Exactly. Jer is just like me." She sighs as she closes her eyes. "Let's go." Caroline nods and followers her best friend. Jeremy watches his sister go into the school and smiles knowing she is going to keep her eye on him but not stop or scold him.

Allison lets out a groan as she walks into the grill with Jeremy.

"I wanted nice pizza tonight." Allison pouts making Jeremy smile as he shakes his head.

"We always came here AJ." She sighs as they both choose a table and nods her head. "Did you smoke today?" Jeremy asks as they both pull out their work.

"Yeah, during lunch. My nerves were shot seeing my old friends." Allison tells him shaking her head. "It's soo weird seeing the people I used to fuck and pop pills with while I'm sober."

"Warning?" Jeremy asks smirking and Allison smiles shaking her head.

"Nah just reflection bud."

"Hey Vick." Jeremy says noticing her.

"Working." Is all she says ignoring them both.

"Seriously?" Allison growls making Jeremy smile sadly at his sister.

"It's fine AJ."

"Alright I'll leave it alone." She tells him shaking her head. "God being a senior sucks."

"Oh?" Jeremy asks looking over the paper in his sister's hands. "What the hell is this?"

"Calculus, aka, the devil of math. My stupid ass forgot to get out of the AP classes I've always been in." Allison tells her brother shaking her head. She looks up to see Vicki on her own. "Go, find out what you want to know." Allison says and Jeremy kisses her cheek before doing just that.

"Hey, what's your deal? I mean, summer you act one way and then school starts and you can't be bothered." Jeremy says knowing that his older sister will hear the whole conversation.

"Look, Jeremy, I really appreciate all the pharmaceuticals, but you can't keep following me around like a lost puppy." Vicki says trying to keep it down not knowing her friend, used to be best, already knows about them hooking up.

"When's the last time you had sex with a puppy?" Jeremy asks smirking and Allison rolls her eyes as Vicki pulls him to a corner.

"Ally!" Caroline says and Allison smiles walking over to her and Bonnie.

"Hey what are you guys talking about?" Allison asks taking a seat next to Caroline while she waits for Jeremy to return to their table.

"New guy. His name is Stefan Salvatore. He lives with his uncle up at the old Salvatore Boarding House. He hasn't lived here since he was a kid. Military family, so they moved around a lot. He's a Gemini, and his favorite color is blue." Allison and Bonnie share a look before Bonnie decides to speak.

"You got all that in one day?"

"Oh, please, I got all that between third and fourth period. We're planning a June wedding and you are maid of honor Ally." Caroline says proudly making Allison shake her head smiling.

"Whatever you say Care." Allison laughs and looks to see Jeremy back. "I gotta go, we'll do a sleep-over after the party tomorrow."

"Got it." Caroline says and Allison waves before walking back to her brother.

"We staying or going home?" Allison asks sitting down.

"Home, I'm done for now." Jeremy tells her as they both gather their bags.

"Alright, tomorrow I'm going to Care's after the party so I need you to text me when you get home."

"Course AJ." Jeremy tells her as they walk out the back, not seeing their sister walk in.

"Pizza or straight home?"

"Pizza and movie night in your room?" Jeremy asks buckling his belt.

"Of course, first day complete ritual." Allison says making Jeremy smile. Ever since he started school Allison made them have some rituals that they never broke, except one. "Oh did I tell you tomorrow I get to be TA to Tanner?"

"Seriously?" Jeremy asks laughing.

"During Lena's period, it's great." Jeremy laughs making Allison laugh as well as they pull up to the pizza place. "Alright I want Hawaiian, you want Meat lover's?" Allison asks and Jeremy shakes his head.

"Two large Hawaiians. I'm not changing my pizza cause I changed AJ."

"Well, Hawaiian only tastes good with weed and Smirnoff or beer. I tried before while high on some narcos and I hated it, tasted like dirt." Allison tells him gagging as she remembered the taste.

"Just some sleep pills of Elena's and weed." Jeremy rolls his eyes in amusement as she nods smiling brightly. "Why are you okay with this Lee?" Jeremy asks calling her the nickname he always used when upset or confused.

"Jer, your my little brother....do I wish you wouldn't go down the path I have? Hell yeah I do, but I can't force you to decide. Do you remember what made me stop?" Allison asks parking her car and turning to her brother who shakes his head no. "I was passed out in the bathroom and I heard your voice, you were begging me to be okay, to live....god I felt like crap that day. The next week I flushed everything that wasn't weed. I stopped partying and spent all my time getting better."

"But you got back into it." Jeremy says confused.

"After the crash, Elena closed herself off and we turned to drugs and sex. What snapped me out of it again was watching one of my hook-ups OD and I scared myself that time. If I kept down my path you would be without me and I couldn't have that." Allison tells him smiling brightly. "You are and will always be my saving grace, my little brother." Both siblings begin to tear up and Allison shakes her head. Jeremy laughs and decides to just get high and sell the pills.

Allison sat in the chair next to Mr. Tanner's desk making faces at Caroline who tried not to laugh at her best friend.

"The Battle of Willow Creek took place right at the end of the war in our very own Mystic Falls. How many casualties resulted in this battle? Ms. Bennett?" Tanner asked looking at Bonnie. Allison wrote down the answer as she studied the battle in her sophomore AP class and found some interesting facts.

"Um...a lot? I'm not sure. Like a whole lot." Bonnie said and both Caroline and Allison rolled their eyes at her answer.

"Cute becomes dumb in an instant, Ms. Bennett." Tanner said and Allison mouthed to Caroline 'cute?' making her giggle. "Mr. Donovan? Would you like to take this opportunity to overcome your embedded jock stereotype?"

"It's okay, Mr. Tanner, I'm cool with it." Matt said making the class laugh and Tanner smirk before turning to Elena who was looking at Stefan.

"Hmm. Elena?" She turned her head and Allison raised a brow. "Surely you can enlighten us about one of the town's most significantly historical events? Your sister did do a paper on it her sophomore year."

"I'm sorry, I...I don't know." Elena said looking sheepishly at her older sister who had wrote the answer on a paper.

"I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons, Elena. But the personal excuses ended with summer break." Tanner says making Allison start to lose her composure, her eyes flicker red, Stefan notices and speaks up.

"There were 346 casualties. Unless you're counting local civilians."

"That's correct. Mister...." Tanner trails off as Allison looks to Stefan in shock. Only the founders journals marked the 27 civilians. Of course the journals she read called them Vampires.

"Salvatore."

"Salvatore. Any relation to the original settlers here at Mystic Falls?"

"Distant."

"Well, very good. Except, of course, there were no civilian casualties in this battle."

"Sir..." Allison started but Stefan beat her to it.

"Actually, there were 27, sir. Confederate soldiers, they fired on the church, believing it to be housing weapons. They were wrong. It was a night of great loss. The founder's archives are, uh, stored in civil hall if you'd like to brush up on your facts, Mr. Tanner." Stefan said and everyone was quiet as Tanner just nodded in annoyance. The bell rung and everyone left but Allison.

"That was fun." She said sarcastically making Tanner roll his eyes at her.

"I thought you had to dig for months to find that info?" Tanner asked about the answer Stefan gave.

"I did. Maybe he likes history?" Allison offered before leaving.

"AJ!" Jeremy yelled rushing through the halls to his older sister.

"Hey what's up Jer?"

"Lunch. Take me off campus?" Jeremy asked making Allison laugh but nod.

"Elena? You riding with us?" Allison asked as Caroline canceled their sleepover after the party since she figured she'd take a guy home.

"Yeah sure." Elena says smiling lightly. She didn't want to be ditched by Allison but she knew that Jeremy had been excited him and Allison would be having another movie night. Elena used to join them but then one day she stopped. Jeremy and Allison grew even closer that day.

"What movie should we watch?" Jeremy asked sitting in the passenger seat, much to Elena's displeasure.

"I was thinking a comedy night? Adam Sandler?" Allison offered as she drove to the Falls.

"I like it, Meat Lover's for me tonight." Jeremy said making Allison laugh as it was what they discussed last night. Elena texted Bonnie begging for her to take her next time. When they arrive Elena goes to search for Bonnie and Stefan while Allison and Jeremy walk to the booze.

"Sweet wine-coolers." Allison says grabbing a Smirnoff ice and Jeremy grabs a beer. "We gotta leave by 1 or Jenna will lose it."

"Sounds fair." Jeremy says before the siblings go their separate ways. Allison goes straight to the bridge, her favorite place in all of Mystic Falls. Behind her a man walks over and smirks as she turns around.

"Who are you?" Allison asks, red mist on her fingers.

"Damon, and you?" Damon asks already knowing her name.

"Allison..."

"Allison?"

"You didn't finish your name why should I finish mine?" Allison asks making Damon smirk.

"Salvatore."

"Gilbert." Allison says looking at him. "You're Stefan's older brother?"

"And you're Elena's." Damon smirks and Allison rolls her eyes. "What are you doing out here when the party is back there?" Damon asks watching her.

"I don't enjoy parties anymore." Allison tells him and sighs turning around to face the waterfall again.

"I don't see why." Damon says walking over to her and leaning against the railing facing away from the waterfall.

"Long story." Allison says as they lock eyes. "Do I know you from somewhere?" Allison asks looking into his blue eyes.

"I feel the same." Damon says smirking. "You are very familiar Allison Gilbert." He says feeling the slight burn from saying her name.

"Shit." Allison groaned seeing Elena and Stefan walking their way. "I gotta go or my sister's gonna think I chose here...." Allison groans and walks away making Damon smirk.

"I'll see you soon...." Damon whispers before vanishing into the woods for some food. Allison walks back to the party and straight to her car after grabbing another Smirnoff. Once in her car she lights up some weed and sighs in relief.

"Damon Salvatore huh..." Allison whispers before she feels her right shoulder burn. "Ow.." She whispers but sighs taking another puff. Without realizing it she closes her eyes and drifts off. A door slamming shut makes her shoot up and she groans looking over at Jeremy. "Bud?"

"Let's go home...please Lee." Jeremy says noticing the state his sister is in and she nods before driving off as Elena was waiting for Jenna.

"I missed something big didn't I?" Allison asks as they drive in silence.

"Vicki was bleeding...Lee...are you okay?" Jeremy asks needing to distract himself.

"I met someone, he..." Allison groans and Jeremy notices the red mist surrounding his sister's hands.

"He didn't hurt you did he?" Jeremy asks not at all shocked by the mist.

"No, just made me curious about something. Shit...sorry Jer." Allison says noticing the mist and willing it away.

"I'm not scared of it Lee. I never have been and I never will be....I just don't get why we can't tell Elena or Jenna." Jeremy says thankful for the distraction.

"Mom and dad. They didn't want anyone to find out Jer....both of them have before but I erased their memories of it. They were both scared of me." Allison said softly whispering the last part.

"Did they want you to erase mine too?" Jeremy asked curious.

"Yeah...but...I couldn't do that to you, never you Jer." Allison said with conviction. "I put a protective barrier around your mind in case they forced me. No one can ever play with your head." Allison smiled and Jeremy was thankful to his big sister.

As they lay in bed that night sleeping, a crow lands on the window seal and watches the siblings. It's blue eyes staying on Allison.
