Cold Sweat
The human child didn't understand sign language.
All the apes here hoot and communicate with their calls. None spoke an ounce of English. That is what you thought when the ape on the horse climbs down, calling out 'Blue Eyes' and 'Ash' before embracing both in relief. Upon seeing Ash's wound, he believed that the human did this. Both apes stopped him before he mistook everything. The two seemed to calm down Ceaser. He soon allowed the two to walk off to those hooting and chirping them over. That was all you saw before others swarm around him. Seeing this, you figured to move on without a word being said.
That is till the same ape came towards you. He is stopping you by holding onto your jacket sleeve. To which he, after getting your attention, tries to sign to you. Observing to see if the human child understands. You did not.
"I'm sorry. I don't know sign language."
He paused. Seemingly trying to think of any other way, just making sure if this child knew sign language or not, resorted to his other choice. His voice.
"Home. Near?"
His voice was deep, and coarsed, yet you understood. Yet upon hearing it, you frown. Soon enough, shaking your head.
He hums, his people seem to swarm around Blue Eyes and Ash, and not long begin to ask other things.
"Why here? Far from human city?"
"My...uncle died protecting me." You tell him, squeezing your toy to which calms your nerves sorta, explaining a tad more."My aunty tried to hurt me. So, I ran."
Caesar could tell. Your clothes were torn, your shoes covered with mud and dirt, and your (H/C) was a slight mess. By the looks of it. He presumed you ran for long periods of hours. Possibly hitch ride something on the way here. Nothing less. He felt bad for the human child. Like humans were cruel to his people, they, too, were cruel to their kind. Even young innocent children.
Fiddling with your rabbit's ear, thinking of earlier, you didn't wish to hide the other part of yourself. Caesar didn't tower over you, nor seemed that threatening. He was actually on his knees. Eye-level with the human child. He grew curious as the small one held out their tiny human hand, and extended to the stream, noticing the child was in deep focus.
Ash and Blue Eyes noticed immediately what the small human was doing. They mentioned this to everyone, but they didn't believe them. They all thought they were illusion imaginations. Pranking them all into their lies for fun.
Caesar didn't move nor make a sound. He was raised by humans. He knew what they could and couldn't do, only he was taken back as the small human child managed to summon a small orb of stream water. Bringing it over to be near and better observed by him. Blue Eyes and Ash hooting alerted those to look towards Caesar. Now, they believed everything the boys just said.
"I believe my aunty was afraid of my new talent. I didn't do anything wrong. This just...happened."
That was partly true. This ability was discovered four days ago. The two other witnesses of this discovery were Uncle Henry and Aunty Dawn. One that wasn't afraid while the other was scared shitless, fearing that you may hurt them. Which, well, yeah..
The watery orb was gently set in your hands. It didn't burst nor break. It rather rippled a little as you allowed the monkey king to observe it. Caesar wasn't sure how you were able to do this. He didn't think nor knew humans could do this. All his fellow companions hoot and drew closer every passing second. They never saw this happen before. This was new to all of them. The child knew little of their ability, finding the ape known as Ash still bleeding and wounded, decided to send it towards his wounds. He of coursed freaks out. He thought it was going to hurt him. Once the child nears did he feels less pain. Ash stops his hooting to glance down at his chest in confusion and wonder. The pain slowly died away..
"It won't take long. Give me a few more minutes."
Ash didn't know what this child was doing. This was unreal. Only he allowed it. He stood still as the water bubble did its thing, minutes go by hours, not long he felt like new. The now slightly bloody orb was sent to the earthy ground. The wounds on Ash were healed, three long scars left to remind him of this day. He was in disbelief, knowing that would take maybe weeks to heal, track two fingers over his biggest scar trailing up to his left shoulder. It was real. He was healed in a matter of two and a half hours.
"It's healed." Caesar, who stood beside Blue Eyes the whole time, also begins to trace the healed wounds of Ash, like if was healed within weeks time "Scarred yet strong."
You smile, wearily weaker to your normal brighter smile, soom got up to stand once again. "It was too deep. This was all I could do for him."
Four days weren't enough to know what you're capable of. The first day you discovered it and the second half of the day, you learned two things. Ability to heal and bend it at will. That was all you knew...
Yet, with such power, it has side effects.
Water bending was new to your small body, however. By the moment, managing to grab your rabbit barely from the ground suddenly grew heavily exhausted. That was the longest time you ever used it. And the result? Well, all you remember was standing up with jelly wobbly legs only to find yourself staring at the blue sky that slowly turned a shade darker. Your eyes felt heavy. Whoever caught your small form did all they could to keep you awake. Not long finding the world turn black as a mare nears. All you could remember was the mere sight of the horse brown muzzle before drifting to the land of dreams.

The ape colony was a mixture of those who were kept in zoo's, test subjects to be studied for humanity sake, and mostly stolen from once they came. All didn't quite like the thought of what Ceaser returned with. Many followers of Caesar didn't understand the reason why, in such haste towards the medical tower, requested anyone of the healers to aide this unconscious human child in his arms.
'The human is suffering with a high fever.' One of the chimps, who only set the feverish child to those will attend to their health, quickly signs more to her king 'If you didn't arrive an second later, this human child would have died.'
Creaser's frown deepens, his eldest son soon arrives with Ash and Maurice in tow, and observing the two healers tries to bring down the fever. One sat in a stool seat, rinsing and folding a cold rag in a bowl of cold water, to which was set to lay flat on your forehead. The second healer did the same actions only try to cool your entire body off. Soothing it down with a cold wrangled rag. Both did what they thought would help. Trying to lower the fever.
'Father? What is wrong with them?'
'Fever. The child is sick.' Ceaser signs to his son, then nods towards Maurice signing 'What is happening down there my friend?'
Maurice smile thins, yet hope still remains 'They are not happy nor mad. It seems you will have to join the council meeting tonight Ceaser. To clarify this mess.'
Council meetings. He was not a fan of such thing. However he understands it is a must. In his mind, he will have to involve the names of the witnesses of today, to explain why he rushed in through the gates. Even the two who wandered onto this child. Most likely, this will be the biggest council meeting yet.
'They look young.' Maurice approached the bed, eyes softening in empathy and pity for this sick creature, signing to no one at all 'Very young. And very unwell.'
Ash waddles his way over to Maurice, just to catch a glimpse of the child's state, to sign to his best friend with guilt in his mind and soul 'Did I do this? I don't want them to die so soon.'
'I assure you that will not happen on our watch child.' one of the healers hoot, returning with more nurses to help, signing to all those here 'This one is strong. Give it time to recover.'
These healers were the top of their class. Many who came here were ill and injured in ways no one should suffer in. They lacked what humanity had but made it worth a thousand times more for what they do have in this place. Most of those clients were Ceaser, wounded by an attack of an forest animal. Maybe Koba who fought and earned another ugly gash to collect in his scarred collect. And even now, this very moment of any day now, so will be Cornelia's turn. A new baby to add to the family and blood line. A new hire of an unknown gender. All were excited to meet them, educate, and watch as it thrives in this new free world.
Blue Eyes stood beside his father, worried and unsure of what to do, spys a object that belong to a human. In the very back was a fuzzy black and white bag. Upon further inspection he recognized it was yours. Even your shoes and jacket were placed neatly folded underneath it. As no one payed attention to their surroundings, he sneaked over to inspect the bag further. Not long he pulled out everything you stored inside. Each item was placed to the side after feeling and inspecting it. In such a little looking bag he was surprised to find so much inside...
"Blue Eyes?"
Immediately Blue Eyes, who doesn't hear his father's voice much, jumps back in shock as Caesar caught him placing everything back into the bag. He felt guilty but his curiosity was satisfied for now.
Caesar sighs, his son caught red handed, signs with some amusement 'You must be sneakier than that, sneakier than me.'
He blinks, processing his words, to which smiles and laugh's 'I'll try to improve on that father.' not long his frown was there, a single thought in his mind '...When they recover, what shall happen to them? What will we do?'
'Those questions will be shared upon the council meeting tonight. Possibly after supper.'
The two seem to bask in the silence. Only for it to be interrupted by the shuffling of paged. Blue Eyes leans over slightly as his father took interest in a black journal. In each page was a drawing of various animals. Belugas, dolphins, kangaroos, cows, grasshoppers, lions, many animals were drawn. The journal was filled half way. The last one was a mixture of tadpoles and various frogs. Unlike the others, there were some in need of coloring.
'Quick and steady hand. Looks almost like the real thing..' for once Caesar agrees with his son.
All peace broke the moment gun fire was heard outside the medical tower. The nurses and healers hoot in worry and fear, staying near the ill child, as all the other males get up ready to fight. Louder noises of high pitch screams filled with more gun shots and hooting of many enraged apes were heard. Maurice did not dare leave the child nor healers alone, knowing they barely knew how to fight, to which Ash, Blue Eyes, and Ceaser hurriedly depart the medical tower. None planning to stop till they see what was going on outside.
And the moment they found out who it was, a single group of military soldiers in tow, immediately take action to slow them down. Not allowing them to enter the camp. And if they did, well, anything bad can happen.
That bad thing to happen is to torture Ceaser, dead or alive, for what they done to their once peaceful world.
