Chapter 29 (epilogue)

"Homura?" Mami's warm voice brought Homura back to reality. "Back to the real world." Homura blinked open with a start. Mami, Kyoko and Sayaka stood around her in a circle, looking bemused and worried at the same time. In addition to them, Miku, and Yuuki were with them, studying Homura confusedly.

"Hmm?" Homura looked around at them. "What's wrong?" Mami smiled at her in the same warm manner. Even as she smiled, Homura felt a pang of guilt as she remembered how she killed her in the arena.

"We were talking, and you suddenly zoned out," Mami explained. "And where did you get those ribbons from?" She pointed to the red ribbons dangling from Homura's hand.

Looking down, Homura remembered

Madoka, and how much she did to save them all.

"Madoka," she murmured.

"Who's Madoka?" Sayaka looked around at the group of them. "I've never heard of her."

"Yeah, me neither," Kyoko piped up "Are you sure you're feeling okay, Homura?"

Miku yawned and stretched, her long pale hair dangling towards the ground.

"I don't know about you guys, but the name Madoka just reminds me of someone," she remarked. "It's like this nostalgic feeling which I can't describe, but I feel as though I'm missing something."

Emiria nodded, from where she stood, a little behind everyone else.

"It's like something I can't quite place," she said quietly. "Maybe we met someone called Madoka before?"

"Don't worry," Mami smiled. "I'm sure if you do remember, well, you'll remember. Would you guys like to come back to my house for tea?"

"I have to go home," Emiria admitted. "Bye." With a wave, she walked off, her blonde hair rustling slightly in the breeze.

"I'll come," Kyoko offered. Sayaka and Yuuki followed suit.

"Yeah, me too."

"Miku, Homura?" Mami looked at the two of them expectantly.

"Might as well," Miku decided. "You going to come?" Homura shook her head.

"No thanks, I have to go somewhere."

"Okay," Mami replied warmly. "We'll see you later." Turning, she headed out of the train station.

"So you remember," Oriko's calm, collected voice came from behind Homura.

Turning around, Homura saw Oriko standing there, in her magical form, her skirts rustling with dry, paper-like sounds.

"Why would you care?" Homura responded. Oriko gave no reply. "You tried to kill her remember?"

Homura let her magical form fade away from her, until she stood there in her uniform.

"But she's not here," Homura turned away. "So I cannot see the point in fighting you." With that, Homura walked away, her back rigid and straight, her purple eyes staring into a future which Oriko Mikuni herself, could not decipher.

And so the story ends....

So, sorry for the short ending, but I wanted to wrap up this book soon XD. Hope you don't mind. I probably will be writing a third book, but it won't be coming out for a while. Just make sure you keep checking my profile XD. In the meantime, I'm going to be concentrating on my Vampire Knight story. Feel free to read it C: Thanks for reading!
