Player! Zen x Game Character! Reader

You were a fictional character in a game called Mystic Messenger, in out of the main five routes, you were the most popular one. All boys that played this app was head-over-heels for you, you had that h/l, h/c, and that soft s/c that attracted men's eyes. In this game, your route can be played in Deep Story, the guys will have to pay 80 hourglass to access your route.

Then a certain white haired male was attracted by your looks, he found out that you were just a game character. So, he decided to install the app and played it right away. The man was really into you at the first time his eyes laid upon you, he wasn't interested in 3D girls, but somewhat you caught his interest. Was he going to turn into a nerd or something? Neither way, his type is beautiful women who will match his godly looks.

ZEN has entered the Chatroom

Star★: I failed the midterm fml T_T

606: Cuz you played HAHAHA all night, haha.

Jessica: If you want to work for our company, you must take care of your GPA.

Star★: I'm still on the list?? +_+

Jessica: Yes.

606: Nice~ Can't believe you get straight to work after you finish your collage. In this day and age!

Y/N: Lame. It's nepotism.

His heart skip a beat when his favorite character, Y/N, suddenly replied. To believe that someone like him would fall for a simple game character, the game master really is doing their job.

606: WAIT!

Star★: Why?

Y/N: ??

606: Think someone entered the chatroom!

Jessica: ZEN...?

It took them awhile to notice Zen's existence, suddenly, the girls began to panic when the player was able to access in the private chatroom, only for the RFA.

ZEN: Hey, wassup girls! How've you been?

Star★: KYAAH! IT TALKED!

Y/N: Who are you, "ZEN"? I recommend that you confess now!

Zen was flabbergasted, how did his 3D Waifu knew that he was in love with her? Was their such a game that could allow love come true?

ZEN: Really?? Right on the bat!

Y/N: Of course, what do you mean right on the bat?

The white haired male leaned against the wall as he was sitting on his bed, his pulse began accelerating.

"Calm down, calm down...this is just a game, how bad can this be?" he murmured as he began to choose his words.

A. Chill, my name's Zen. A beautiful woman called "Mysterious" has given me permission to access in this chatroom.

B. What? I thought this was an app to chat with hot girls?!

C. I like you, Y/N. No, I love you. You are truly the one for me, please, accept my feelings for you with all of heart, I offer for you. Beloved.

Zen face-palmed with the choices given to him, it was out of the question. The choices were not so cool. The first option is similar to him but too cringe, the second option has broke the 4th Wall so it's a big no. Lastly, the third option is a way too soon for a guy like him to confess. I mean, they were still in the Prologue for pete's sake!

But for some reasons, he chose the third option that was to tell his feelings.

Zen: I like you, Y/N. No, I love you. You are truly the one for me, please, accept my feelings for you with all of heart, I offer for you. Beloved.

Y/N: You haven't met me yet, how can you say that you love me?

ZEN: Because of your beauty, my dear. I was able to tell which was the truth or fake rose. All thanks to your elegancy.

Y/N: Gosh, I'm so beautiful! Hear that Jessica? Nothing can beauty; I even made a man fall in love with me in the chatroom. Banzai.

Y/N, a game character that was both beautiful and smart. Just like Zen, she was a complete Narcissist, a perfect match for him. Thinks highly of herself, especially her overall looks.

Zen chuckled, "She's similar to me."

Soon the screen changed after a short conversation, he began chatting with Y/N for hours, soon it turned into days, and into weeks. Until he reached to the point of bad ending.

"Why did I had a bad ending?! Where did everything went wrong??" Zen grieved, you were shoot by "Mysterious". You were trying to protect him from her but died in the end, leaving Zen all alone.

Would you like to restart the game?

Yes. No.

Zen hurriedly pressed yes as the screen and played off the opening of the game, he made an oath with Y/N before she dies that he will surely save her next time.

After the last chat of the day, which was in 12:00 midnight, he soon drifted to sleep with his phone next to him. Zen was feeling chilly by the cold breeze that slapped his skin, then a bright light shone in his room but went unnoticed by him because he was in a deep sleep.

The light was actually you, a game character, without a physical body, you moved towards him soullessly. Your body was translucent, hurriedly, you walked towards him. You saw how he slept, he was like a child. It made you chuckled.

You raised his blankets so he won't catch a cold. He was sleeping peacefully. You smiled as you kissed him on his forehead, without his knowledge.

"I will always care for you, even if we're not together and even if we're far, far away from each other."

A tear rolled down your cheeks as it fell on his cheek, soon, your image suddenly faded away. Just like magic.

Zen opened his eyelids that was greeted by the gentle, morning light. He began to rub his eyes then his cheeks, he felt something wet. He stared at his hand that was soaked, he was surprised.

"A tear...?"

Then his phone 'beep'. He looked at the screen and to see text messages from you, he grinned like an idiot and started playing the game like usual.

ZEN has entered the Chatroom

Y/N: Zen! Good morning! I thought you'll never come. I missed you~

ZEN: Oh, hey Y/N. Good morning ^^. I saw you in my dreams.

Y/N: Hehe, I'm so beautiful that I even appear in your dreams. Gosh, what can I do about this angelic looks?

ZEN: Narcissist.

Y/N: You say that but we both know that you think otherwise ^^

Today was the fifth day in Y/N's route, Zen has been playing for hours, chatting with her. He was extremely happy, talking with a mere game character. He was already content.

Y/N: Hey, I've noticed that you're always online in the chatroom. Don't you have work?

ZEN: I do have a work. I just have plenty of free time.

Y/N: Hey, Christmas is nearing. Don't you have any wishes?

ZEN: Why? Will you grant it?

Y/N: I dunno. Why don't you try wishing?

Then the game suddenly changed format, Zen was allowed to type messages in the app. Splendid! His fingers began touching the keyboard as he gave out his wish.

ZEN: Well, I have problems with my family. Especially with my Mom. I wish that we could get along with each other...

Y/N: Don't worry, I bet you will ^^

ZEN: I hope so too.

The next day, Zen's Mom came to his apartment. She apologized and admitted her wrongdoings and asked him to come back to their house, which he accepted and apologized too for running away. When Zen reached their house, his brother apologized to him as well. His family problems were finally solved.

ZEN: Hey, can you believe it? My mom came to my apartment earlier as we made up, same goes with my brother! I'm at the house right now.

*Zen sent a picture of himself eating meals with his mom and brother*

Y/N: See? I knew you will be able to make up with them!

ZEN: Yeah, thanks a lot for the encouragement, Y/n!

Y/N: No problem. Do you have anything more to wish for?

ZEN: Well, I actually do...I want to play as the main character of my next show. I just got the side character which shocks.

Y/N: Side character? Pfft. It fits you.

ZEN: Shut up! Just tell me what I have to do >_<

Y/N: Just tell your director that you want to play the main character and he'll surely give it to you.

ZEN: How are you so sure?

Y/N: I just know so.

The next day, Zen told his director about that issue. And the director gladly gave him the part, which made him so happy.

ZEN: I feel like recently, all of my wishes are coming true!

Y/N: I see...good for you then ^^

ZEN: But there is something that I really wish for the most...

Y/N: Hm, what is it? Tell me.

Just like Y/n said, Zen typed his wish that he wanted the most with a gleeful smile on his face. You were extremely curious of what his going to wish for.

ZEN: My wish is.......

He paused for a moment to think about his wish as Y/n waited for it patiently. He tapped the 'send' button as the message was sent.

ZEN: I want to have a girlfriend!

Your heart instantly shattered, you were expecting for him to wish for something. But that was what he wants. You cannot defy it. You are willing to do anything just to make him happy, even if you're just a simple game character.

The next day, Zen got himself a hot girlfriend. With beautiful looks that no other girl can be compared to, she was an famous actress named Echo Girl.

And you have to admit, that Echo girl was much more beautiful than you.

Well, except for the attitude. Zen was extremely happy that he had a girlfriend, you were happy for him. But tears just couldn't help but fall from your eyes, it was to heartbreaking to see the one you love with someone else. However, Zen didn't knew that, you, too, have fallen in love with him.

Today was the eleventh day, where Zen will attend the party with Y/N. He got her good ending, which made him so happy that he didn't got the bad ending again.

Zen finished reading the dialogues that Y/N have, her voice actor was actually good. Suddenly, Y/N started to cry which made Zen confused.

Eh? Why is she crying...? I've spoiled myself for watching Y/N's good ending, but none of this happened. he thought.

"Hey, Zen...I want to see you...can I?"

Zen smiled as he chosen the option, Yes, for her. The 3D woman smiled as tears continued falling in her eyes.

Suddenly, a bright light appeared in the room. He turned around to where it's source was as his eyes widened.

There he saw, the real Y/n, wearing the same clothes in the party earlier. She was also still crying.

The game has finally bugged. Zen thought.

"Is that you...Y/N...?" Zen said as he stood up from his bed, leaving his phone on.

Y/n turned to him and hurriedly run in to his arms and embraced him tightly, her tears continued flowing down her cheeks, sadly.

"W-What...seriously...?" Zen was able to touch you, he was so shocked. How did a 3D game character as yourself appeared in front of him right now?!

"Aww, I did it. I broke the fourth wall. I bet the game master will get angry with me and delete me from the game." you said while hugging him tightly.

"Huh? W-What do you mean...? Fourth wall? Game Master? Delete?" Zen asked him.

You unwrapped your arms around him and smiled sadly, his eyes softened.

"On the other side of the screen, was a world were everything was reversed. Opposite destinies that should never have crossed...I've just returned whatever you gave me..."

Everything was confusing for Zen, he couldn't understand what you were saying. You smiled sadly.

"Back then, you were also a game character, Zen. I was a player just like you who played Mystic Messenger; out of all the RFA members, I choose you! That's all because I fell in love with you, at first sight as well."

"But then the game master have decided to delete you, Cheritz said  that you have failed to be something... But to me, it wasn't like that—you were perfect, too perfect for someone like me."

"In order to prevent your deletion, I switched places with you so you won't be forgotten by everyone! I traded my soul for your survival, everything for you...I'll do anything..."

Zen was shocked, you truly loved him deep in your heart. You even sacrificed yourself for him, he was unworthy and embarrassed for not remembering anything at all.

"You might not believe it, but that's the truth!" she answered.

He cup your cheeks and wiped away your tears with his thumb, "I know...your tears say it all. That you're not lying..."

You hugged him once more, your arms around him so tightly like if you let go, he'll go away. You hated that feeling, you've always have, it was so scary to be all alone.

Suddenly, your body slowly began to fade. It turned translucent. It made him surprised in how he couldn't feel you anymore.

You unwrapped your arms around him and stared on your palm, it was fading. The magic was fading.

"I have to go now."

"No, don't leave me!"

"But the magic will break if I didn't. You, fixing your family problems. Having the main character. And your girlfriend that you have now...it will all fade away..."

"I don't care! So please, I beg of you, don't leave me...don't abandon me."

Tears have began to flow down his cheeks from his eyes, it was heartbreaking to see him like this, all you can do was to wipe his tears away. How painful it was to say goodbye.

"Thank you for everything you've did for me, I will never forget the times when we're happy and when we're sad. I had fun chatting with you, even if I'm just a mere 3D game character..." you said as you were beginning to lose color.

"I'm sorry for the rude remarks I've said about you, at how many times I've swore you and excuse me if I'm a Narcissist...it's just my nature." she added.

"Don't say it." Zen cried as he knew what he was going to say next.

Then you disappeared in thin air at a lonely room, tears continued falling like rivers from his eyes. He fell on his knees, grieving.

"Goodbye, my love."
