CH 2 | BURNING SOULS
Gazing ahead of myself, I looked at the lad standing at the end of the aisle. His profile displayed, he didn't even twitch his head to take a glimpse at me. Is this marriage happening with his consent? This thought clashed in my head when we reached the end of the aisle.
I took a glimpse at his jaw which was edge sharp as knife aa his eyes were diverted ahead of himself, looking at nothing but the air.
The sudden twitching of his head led us to the meet of our eyes. His eyes looked down at mine which held a bit of disheartenment and moisture.
His locks were gelled up, his forehead was exposing while some of his strands fell over his temple and brows, shimmering in the lights.
I gazed down at his nose which has a mole over its tip and his petals were salmon pursued together. Before I could travel my eyes further he again turned hai eyes back, giving me his profile.
I didn't hold my hand to help me to take a step on the platform he was standing on. His simplicity was lavish within itself that's what made him distinctive and the reason why all the girls are after him.
I stepped up on the platform, standing just under his nose while the priest started with the vows and rituals as I had my eyes gazing down on the platform, tears settling over the bottom eyelid which would gush down any second while I endeavored to blink them off.
I looked at my soon to be husband from his shoes which were sheeny of pitch black colour, contrasting with his skin while his matte black tuxedo would have been worth a king's ransom.
How much I have heard about him from dad, he is the biggest businessman of all time all over the world! I don't know anything other than his name, Kim Taehyung.
His name itself screams supremacy that all his wishes would come true. I looked up at his visage while his orbs were gazing at something behind my shoulder. His eyes weren't merry, they were despondent while holding onto the sheen within themselves. The fringe of his eyes were ruddy while his mood seemed to be dismal.
My orbs met him for the second time that moment as I gazed down at his lips which whispered, "I do." I gulped down a lump in my throat which was thirsty since I entered the aisle.
I heard the priest asking about my approval for this marriage but before letting out any answer, I gazed down at my brother, settled down over the first row as his lips curved in a mild smile which I reciprocated.
My orbs traveled at my stepmom who held her lips pressed together as she took a glimpse at dad settled beside her with a frigid expression as he had his arms crossed over his chest as if building a wall between us both which hadn't been broken since my birth. I wish you to break this wall down after this marriage.
I turned my gaze back at Taehyung and then looked down before I muttered, "I do."
The wedding rings were bought by the helper, both of them were glimmering in the light, with the diamonds embedded.
You held the ring between your fingers, waiting for him to hold his hand out and he did in a few seconds or so as I reluctantly slipped the right in his ring finger.
I waited for him to get a hold on the ring as I watched him holding it with absurd force as if he could crush it within his fingers, I stretched my left hand as he glided the gleaming ring in my finger halfway before retreating his hand as I closed my hand in a fist to settle the ring properly into my ring finger.
Hearing the acclamation when the priest announced us both as spouses, "You may kiss the bride." I perceived these words flowing out of the priest's mouth making my eyes enlarge a bit from its own usual size.
I inhaled a deep breath before looking under my eyes at his chest before his visage as he let out a sigh before taking steps nigh me while I just propped myself on the prior position.
I clutched onto my creamy satin wedding gown within my sweaty fists, forming creases. I felt him stooping his upper body towards me as I clench my eyes shut.
Feeling his warm breath trickling over my lips and chin as I gulped down at the intensity and propinquity between us. My breath hitched when shivered ran down my spine sensing his cold palm on my jaw and neck as my jaw was settled onto his fingers.
Soon after feeling his skin thumb placed on my lips which made me open my eyes leisurely with befuddled lingering inside my head.
My orbs drowned down in his deep sea eyes of cocoa tincture as he placed his salmon petals on the thumb he had placed on my lips.
My heart accelerated as my tummy had a herd of elephants sprinting while I tightened my fists on my dress. His eyes were closed before he parted away in a few seconds and pulled his hand back to himself.
I let out my hitched breath, hearing the sound of the applause and the guests raising their feet. I waggled my orbs within his eyes with a dismal expression on his visage giving me an erratic feel.
-
"I know that I am not your biological mother but I have always tried my best to give you the love and warmth which a mother could have. I am sorry, I couldn't stop your father from conducting this marriage. But I hope you live a happy life ahead." She kissed my forehead, cupping my cheeks as a tear slipped down my left eye.
I turned to gaze at my brother with those ruddy simnery orbs before wrapping my arms around his torso while he embraced me within his sturdy arms, "I will miss you." I said while sobbing in his chest as he placed his petals on the crown of my head, "Me too." I could feel the wobbliness in his tone, he was trying his best to control his tears making me hold him more tightly.
I came out of my reverie, hearing the sound of the honk before I gazed beside myself and discerned him looking out of the window. I traveled my eyes with him and decried a couple with their child crossing the road over the zebra crossing.
My heart felt warm as I gazed back at him who had turned his eyes somewhere else as the driver steered towards the residence.
He hasn't uttered a single word to me since we have seen each other. It was like he didn't mind my presence but still was making me unnoticeable, I let out a deep breath to control my heavy heart as the emotions of leaving my parents abode was kicking in.
Gazing upwards, I blinked my tears while my fingers were fiddling with each other, trying to distract my inner self when I felt the car putting on the brakes.
I gazed out of the window only to discern a vast garden surrounding the sides of the residence settled in the centre of the plot. It wasn't a mansion but a full modern house, a residence one could dream of.
I came out of my stupor with a flinch because of the sudden slam of the door of the car. Looking ahead I watched Taehyung going inside the residence while I gazed at his departing frame with my doe eyes. The second after chauffeur opened the door for me as I climbed down the car before sauntering behind Taehyung whose frame had already disappeared.
I pushed the huge door of the residence open before it could fully shut, I don't even know the passcode. I gulped down, calming down my high speed breath before taking in the surroundings, the amber rays were surrounding the lounge as I took steps towards the lounge from the foyer.
"Ouch!" I let out a squeal when I banged my toe on the steps separating the foyer from the lounge. The sudden flashing of a few lights switching on caught me off guard, making me gaze ahead of myself as I discerned Taehyung standing near the switch board as he sauntered in the middle of the lounge near the couch looking at me with intense gaze.
That gaze was making me nervous to the ground of the heart as I held the handful of my dress before stepping up and sauntering in the lounge towards him when I discerned him making his way upstairs while my dry throat didn't help with my voice as it would come out sore so I just followed him upstairs.
Opening the door of his room, he was about to enter the room when he turned around to look at me as I halted my footsteps on their position when I heard him say, "You room is the next one." I furrowed my brows at him as I stretched my hand pointing at his room and before I could utter something he said, "Don't expect anything from this marriage. I am making this very clear."
I gazed at him with befuddlement, "I...I am not expecting anything because I know it waa just my father's will. I was forced into this marriage when I was just 20. I don't know why you chose me when there are other girls out there ready to be your spouse."
I watched his expressions changing in a nick of seconds as he took a step near me when I retreated one, "What do you even know about me, you are telling me that I chose you. It was your father and my father who both had a business deal from this marriage. I don't ever want to marry in the first place after she is gone." He let out a deep breath while his orbs were straight gazing inside mine.
My eyebrows met at my glabella as I clamped my lower lip between my teeth before letting out a whisper, "Do you love someone-" Before I could end my sentence he stepped inside his room and slammed the door shut.
Why would he have to marry me with someone like him? It's just his business for him, nothing prioritized before his company. He didn't give the love of a father to me and now he has bonded with someone who isn't expecting anything from this relationship and maybe he already loves someone else...
I sauntered inside my room holding my tears back, I shut the door behind myself before walking towards the bed and settling at the periphery of the mattress and propped my head on the headboard.
The warm liquid gushed down my cheeks before I closed my eyes shut. I am fed up. I am so fed up with this life. I hope I would have died instead of my mother. At Least I wouldn't be bearing my father's hatred...
