Chapter 3: Zoey
This was the first time that I had slept in such a comfortable bed. The sheets were silky soft and I had fallen asleep in no time. The bed was double meaning I had lots of space to move. Normally I had a closet as my bedroom which had an old old mattress. I skretched luxuriously on the bed and looked at the clock on the wall.
My eyes widened in disbelief as I saw the time. 9am? Oh shit! I forgot to make breakfast! Martin will kill me! I ran down the stairs straight to the office. I needed to apologize. In my frenzied state of mind I had forgotten where I was.
"Sorry Alpha I forgot to make breakfast today!" I gasped.
Two pairs of head and eyes turned towards me. I suddenly remembered where I was and I shrank back against the door trying to disappear.
"Why are you so panicked?" Alpha Kade asked.
I didn't say anything; just looked down at the ground wishing I could just disappear.
"I asked you a question," he said coldly.
"Um it was my duty to- uh- work for the pack," I stuttered.
I couldn't look at him in the eyes. His dominance filled the entire length of the room. I felt his eyes on mine the entire duration.
"Things at the Potent pack are done differently. We do our own work," he said.
"Sorry," I muttered, before quickly leaving the room.
I had just embarrassed myself in front of the most powerful Alpha of the werewolf world. How bad could it be? I looked for something to do but found the pack house neat and clean. Even the dishes in the kitchen were already done. I sat down in the chair and gazed outside where children were playing. Without any work my day would get boring. I had become so accustomed to doing work all the time that it was second nature.
"There you are!"
I turned around to see Julia come in with a bounce. She had a positive energy around her which caused others to relax themselves.
"Hey," I smiled at her.
Personally I liked Julia's bubbly personality. She could brighten up a whole room. She was the complete opposite of her brother.
"We are going shopping!" Julia clapped her hands together.
"For what?" I asked.
"For the ceremony doofus," she said, perching on the table.
"What ceremony?" I asked.
"Kade didn't tell you?" She asked.
"Nope he didn't," I shook my head.
Now that I think about it; Kade- it sounded so awkward without speaking with the title- had not once spoken personally to me ever since I came here. And that had only been a few days so it was sort of understanable.
"That's so like him," Julia shook her head before continuing, "The Inclusio night."
"What the heck is that?" I asked, confused.
"It means Inclusion night in english," she smirked.
"Why not use the simpler form?" I asked.
"What's the fun in that?" She asked.
"What do you do at Inclusio night?" I asked.
"Introduce new members to the pack and have a party afterwards," she said, shrugging.
I felt my eyes grow wide. I didn't dislike parties but that didn't meant that I liked them. I prefered calm quite places as compared to rowdy ones. They gave me headaches. And I had a history of migrane. Only the people who have had this would only truly understand how bad that could be. But I also didn't want Julia sad when I say that I wouldn't go and be a bad sport about it.
"So when's the date of the party?" I asked.
Julia brightened up again making me feel somewhat happy.
"This Saturday!" Julia exclaimed,
"This Saturday? That's only like four days away!" I protested.
"So what? The sooner the better. And for that we need to go shopping," she said.
"I hate shopping!" I exclaimed, making a disgusted face.
It's not that I actually hate shopping; if that made any sense. I just hated spending money on unnecessary clothes and accessories that I would probably never use and which could have made use of a much higher cause.
"How can my only friend hate shopping?" Julia gave an exasperated sign.
"I don't actually hate shopping. I just find it a waste of money on things which you probably won't wear for a much longer time when that money could be useful elsewhere," I shrugged.
Julia stared at me making me uncomfortable.
"What?" I asked self-consciously.
"Spoken like a true luna," Julia said, making me blush.
"Well we won't spend that much money then if it makes you uncomfortable but nonetheless we are going shopping!" She exclaimed.
"Great," I said, trying to be enthusiastic.
"Get ready we are going out in a few minutes," she said, making a shooing motion with her hands.
I glanced at the clock and my old habits kicked in like a rebound elastic band put back into it's original place.
"We will be back before lunchtime right?" I asked.
"Why?" Julia asked.
"I need to make lunch for the pack," I said.
"You don't need to do anything. We do our own work" she said.
"Yeah that's what your brother said but old habits die hard," I shrugged my shoulders.
"Well hurry up then so we can get before lunch," she said.
I got up and walked up the stairs to my new room. I had not had any luxury of living in such a comfort space and felt slightly uncomfortable in it. Going to the bathroom I did my usual morning routine of washing my hands and face while brushing my teeth afterwards. For the shopping spree I chose to wear a simple plain blue shirt and jeans with my hair tied in a ponytail and zero makeup.
I didn't hate make up; I just felt like girls who wore makeup hid their true looks. And you could easily judge a person by his expression and body language. I preferred going natural. I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen where Julia remained; munching on a chocolate bar.
"I am ready," I announced.
Julia turned around in her chair to look at me. She scrutinized me up and down and again I felt unconscious about myself.
"Are you sure you are really ready?" Julia asked.
"Um yes?" I asked, more than questioned.
"You are not wearing any makeup," she pointed out.
"I don't like to wear makeup," I shrugged my shoulders.
To be honest I never really had that much makeup to try it on. Even if I did had it; I don't think that I would put my face through the torture.
"How did a girl like you end up with my stubborn piece of a brother?" Julia mused.
"I am not with yout brother," I was quick to amend her.
"Yeah yeah. Whatever you say. Now come on, let's go and check in with my brotherr," she said, standing up.
The two of us walked towards Alpha Kade's office and I felt my heart starting to beat faster. My wolf thumped her tail in the back of my mind but said nothing. She had been quite this whole time and I don't really blame her that much. Julia knocked on Kade's door and we only had to wait a second when Kade's voice called out, "Come in."
The two of us entered the office; me for the second time of the day but under highly different circumstances. Yet I still felt a bit apprehensive in tqo high ranked wolves. I had been led to believe that I was the omega of the pack. The weakest.
"Zoey and I are going shopping," Julia said.
"No," Kade said, without looking up.
"I am not asking. I am telling you," she huffed.
"And I gave you my word," he said.
"Don't be such a douchè. Zoey needs to go," she said.
Kade finally looked up from his work.
"Only if you take Vincent with you," Kade said.
"Oh no. I hate that guy," Julia said.
"What's wrong with him?" I asked.
Sure I found out that he was serious and gruffy and not a pleasant company but I think he's a nice guy underneath.
"Before I found Zach, he scared of any guy that came up to ask me for a date," Julia said.
"All for good reason," Kade said.
"They wouldn't have lasted a second time," the other guy chuckled.
I still didn't remember his name but what I found out from my ex-pack; he must be the beta since he appeared more easy-going than Kade.
"We'll take him. But we will have to come back before lunch," I said.
"Yeah yeah," Julia said dismssively before turning towards Kade, "can I have your credit card?"
My eyes widened at that. There was no way that I was going to use Kade's credit card. Or any of his money!
"No!" I blurted out.
All three turned to look at me making me uncomfortable. I hated being put in the spotlight. Well I wasn't exactly in the spotlight but still.
"I have my own money," I explained.
"And how much is that? A few hundreds? You won't even find a dress with that money. And Kade here has money which he doesn't know how to spend," Julia said.
"Geez, thanks for the positive input," Kade said sarcastically.
"Why don't you take Zach's card?" He asked.
"It's not for me that I need money," Julia grinned cheekily at her brother.
I wasn't sure if she meant it like I thought she did or not. In the end Kade and Julia both won in their department and Vincent was driving us to the mall with Kade's credit card safely in Julia's purse.
Plaigarism has become a part of this society. People think it's all right to steal other people's works as their own and get famous when it's not in their favor.
I have found out on wattpad through other people that their works get plaigarised onto other websites as per other person's own work. I hereby wanted to testify that ALL OFF MY WORKS ON WATTPAD (including this book, Possessive Beta series, Twisted Love, or any other future works I will publish later on) ARE SOLELY MEANT TO BE FOR WATTPAD ONLY. If any of you sees my work plaigarised on any other website kindly inform me so I can do something about it.
It's so bad that people copy other people's work especially novels knowing a person has put every ounce of effort and time in making a story.
Anyways on a lighter note: how was the chapter? Migraine is the worst headache anyone could ever have. Anyways, don't you guys think Kade needs to lighten up?
