Chapter 1: Zoey

"Bitch! Where the hell did you place my magazines?"
"Where are my red heal shoes? I just brought them two days back!"
"You scum! What did you do to my ipod? It won't work!"
"You worthless piece of shit why is my breakfast not ready?"
"Why are you just standing there staring?"

The last retort was from Alpha Weise's son, Martin. He was two years older than me and was going to college.

"Sorry," I muttered.
"You are always sorry," Martin sneered.
"You are a sorry excuse," Everly said, making the others laugh.
"What the hell are you waiting for? Get on your with your work, fat dump!" Martin slapped me across the face.

This was how the mornings went for me. My parents had shifted me to the pack house to get rid of me. I was the one who got bullied by the entire pack.

"I bet she was involved in Heather's disappearance," Susan spoke.
My eyes widened at that as I spoke, "NO! I did-

I was the one who got pushed against the counter hard. There was a sudden back pain though I maintained my expression. No need to give them satisfaction.

"Who told you you could interrupt us? Do you want to go to the basement or not?" Martin growled.

The basement. Or more likely torture chamber for little Zoey. I had been there plenty of times when they had abused me. And I had to obey Martin since he was going to be the next Alpha of our pack soon. I shook my head rapidly. No. I didn't want to go to the basement.

"Then shut up and make breakfast!" Martin growled.

The kitchen filled with the rest of the pack as I busied myself with work.

"What the hell is this? This looks like shit!" Catlin glared at me.
"I made it just fine," I muttered.
"I made it just fine," Everly mimicked me.
"I told you i don't like too much salt!" Catlin threw the plate on the ground.
"I am on a diet. I told you I don't eat eggs and beacon," Tamara said.
"But you already ate half. You could eat the rest," i pointed out.
"Are you trying to back talk?" Martin growled, rising up from his seat.

I shrank back trying to disappear into the cabinet when I felt a breach in the territory. I froze as I felt a shiver run through my entire body.

Breach is felt when someone crosses a pack's territory without permission. You feel an unknown shiver and a sense of dread as soon as the territory is breached. Everybody stopped what they were doing and walked out of the kitchen. I sighed in relief; atleast no basement time for me. Turning the stove off I followed everbody out to see a crowd had already formed.

I stood in front at the edge of the crowd and gasped. Heather was lying down on the ground her arms tied behind her back. Her hair were in disarry and stewn all over her face. She also looked malnurished and I felt a pang in my heart. Whoever did this to her was made of stone.

A loud growl echoed through the area. This growl was much more powerful and fearful than my own Alpha. And I was scared of Alpha Weise to be honest. Whoever this was must be more powerful than him.

"What is the meaning of this?" Alpha Wiese growled.

A large black wolf emerged from the trees making several members gasp. The wolf radiated power. He was coming farwords as if prowling his prey. His ears were straight up and trained for any sound. His eyes appeared sharp as he switched from one member to another. When his gaze landed on me I immediately wanted to go down on one knee and submit to him. I averted my eyes and looked at the three big burly men standing behind him.

"Who are you?" Alpha Wiese demanded.

The big black wolf bared his teeth at Alpha Wiese before shifting into his human form. Everybody, including me, gasped. Alpha Kade Reith. Alpha of the Potent pack. The most powerful pack of the werewolf world.

He stood taller than everybody else; even Alpha Wiese at a height more than 6feet. His mere height intimidated me.

"Alpha Kade," Alpha Wiese said, his posture rigid.

"What have you got to say for this?" Alpha Kade asked.
"She knows nothing about the breach treaty," Alpha Wiese said.
"An Alpha's daughter doesn't know about the breach territory? That's unheard of," he scoffed.
"I didn't tell her," Alpha Wiese said.
"Yeah that's what you are saying. She on the other hand told an entirely different story," he nodded his head at Heather.
"Heather what did you say?" Alpha Wiese demanded.
"She found her mate in my pack and thus technically belongs to me," Alpha Kade spoke coldly when Heather didn't say anything.
"She has no mate in your pack," Alpha Wiese spoke in the same way.
"Hear that Heather? Your daddy doesn't approve of your mate," Alpha Kade sneered.
"Heather Wiese, I hereby order you to reject your mate of the Potent pack now!" Alpha Wiese growled.

There were several gasps amongst the crowd and I felt my own eyes widening in shock and disbelieve.

"Dad! You said you would negotiate with me!" Heather exclaimed.
"I did not meant that!" Alpha Wiese growled.
"Yes you did. You said you would talk with my mate first!" Heather protested, looking up from the ground.
"You two can argue when you have settled my treaty!" Alpha Kade growled.
"You can have my land. The northern border," Alpha Weise said.
"I have plenty of land mself. I need another incentive. Breahing a territory is not a small thing," he scoffed.
"I can give you money," my Alpha said.
"And what the hell will i do with your money?" Alpha Kade asked, raising his eyebrow.
"Investment?" My Alpha asked.
"Time is ticking and I need to get back to my pack. If you don't give me a satisfied answer i will take your daughter back with me. I am getting impatient," he said, tapping his foot on the ground.

I knew that Alpha Wiese was getting worried. His only daughter was in the hands of the enemy pack. I could see him tremble in his tall frame. Amidst this; Heather's mother ran forth. It was obvious she had been crying. Perhaps both from relief and worry. Alpha Wiese grabbed her arm as she was about to go to her daughter. He  looked at his pack members when his eyes settled on mine. I felt my wolf shrink back even more in the back of my mind. I felt a sense of dread at the look on his face.

"You can have her," Alpha Weise asked.

I felt my whole body freeze at his words. My brain felt numb and it took a moment for me to comprehend what was being said.

"...she won't be of much use but she's an omega here. We have no use for her. You can do whatever you want with her. Just give my daughter back," my Alpha said.
"Alpha no! Why should I leave?" I asked.
"Because you are not needed here," Martin scoffed.
"We need Heather," Everly added.
"Heather!"
"Heather!"

The rant picked up amongst several pack members and I looked at Heather. She was lying on the ground looking straight at me. Her eyes pleaded with me to say yes. She was my Alpha's daughter. She was the most cherished member of the pack. Whereas I was the omega.

The lowest rank of all wolves. The rank that was scoffed upon. The rank that was abused. The rank that nobody wanted so why the hell would the most powerful Alpha want me?

"My parents will never agree," I said, with as much sureness as I could.

Even though people hated me; this was the pack that i had grown up in. This was the pack where i had spend my whole life. My home pack. I did not even think about running away knowing I would never survive in the wild.

"We will see," Alpha said.

His eyes turned misty and I knew he was mind linking my parents. My entire family joined us after just a second. Which included my two brothers and their families, and my elder sister with her own mate. Yeah I was the last child of the litre.

"Yes Alpha?" Dad asked.
"Heather breached the pack territory of the Potent pack and Alpha Kade wants compensation," Alpha Wiese said.
"Oh," dad said.
"Would you like to give your daughter Zoey? In place of Heather?" Alpha asked.
"Of course! Heather is an imprtant part of the pack," dad said.

My jaw dropped open as I stared at my dad. He wanted to save Heather instead of me? Where was the justice in that?

"Dad I am your daughter!" I exclaimed.
"You are a mistake!" Dad exclaimed.
"W-what?" I stuttered.
"We never wanted a fourth child," he sneered.
"Saving our Alpha's heirline is the top most priority," mom pointed out.

I looked over at Alpha Kade who wore an impassive look. It was hard to read what he was thinking.
"But I am your blood! Even if you didn't want me you gave birth to me," i said.
"I can't take this family drama anymore," Alpha Kade interrupted.
"Jackie and Vincent take the girl to the car," Alpha Kade ordered.
"No! I am not going anywhere!" I proclaimed.
"Henry unlock the chains," he ordered.

Two big burly men came farword and each took me by the arm. They were twice the size and height of me. I knew that I would be no match for any of them.

"Zoey Carter, you are hereby, no longer a member of the Forte pack!" Alpha Wiese ordered.

I felt an immediate pain in the back of my neck causing me to cry out in pain. I then knew the the pack mark was disappearing. With these parting words i was pushed into the back of a black car as shame filled my whole being at being insulted like this.

Zoey has been banned from her own pack! Against her will! How will she manage the new situation? Will things for her change for the better? Or worse?

Ah! Summer cravings: need icecream! 🍢😀
