It was the end of the week and tonight they were holding another ball when one lady will be sent home. Pidge was walking around the castle during the day without care as other ladies tried finding the prince or tried to get close with the queen or lotor hoping they help them win the bride title. Since Pidge stayed away from the royals or anyone really close to the prince she was hoping he send her home without care. She skip a little at the thought of seeing matt again by the ship by the end of the night. She smiled as she thought about her and her brother flying to earth to start a new life. She really couldn't wait and didnt notice a person in front of her, making her walk into them and she fell to the floor by the force. 

"oh sorry" Pidge said rubbing her neck and looking up to meet with lotor. "watch where your going" Lotor hissed at her making her frown a little. All she did was bump into him and she already said sorry but he still acts like an ass. "i make sure not to do it again" Pidge sighed and went to stand up but Lotor pushed her back down. "hey" Pidge yelled. "you think sorry is enough after someone like you bumped into me" Lotor hissed back at her and Pidge took a deep breath so she wouldn't hit him. "it was only a small bump, its not like your hurt or anything" Pidge hissed and sat up while glaring at the prince. "you right i didnt get hurt but i could have been, what would you do if you injured the second prince" Lotor yelled at Pidge and lifted his hand to hit her. 

"it seems lotor yelling at another maid, poor girl" Lance sighed as he, keith and James were walking down the halls after a small meeting. "i wonder why he yelling at them this time, last time it was because she didnt meet his eyes when passing" James sighed since lotor often yells at the maids, butlers or guards. "no clue but i better stop him before he attracts the ladies after my hand in marriage and make rumours about me" Keith sighed and started to walk a little quicker but when he noticed lotor rising his hand at Pidge he started to run.  

"i teach you some mangers you slave" Lotor yelled and Pidge kicked his feet making him fall. "please dont touch me, i dont know where your been" Pidge hissed and brushed her borrowed dress to make sure it looked clean. "you bitch, how dare you strike a prince" Lotor yelled with anger and went to hit pidge from behind but was stopped by keith grabbing his arm. "that enough, do you wish for the queen to hear about this" Keith warned with anger in his eyes and let go of lotor arm. "she needs to be taught a lesson" lotor hissed. "the third prince will decided that himself since he the one choosing a bride" Lance said with a small smile. "whatever" Lotor hissed and walked away. "he as mean as ever" James sighed. 

"are you ok" Keith asked with worry as he turned to Pidge. "I'm fine, thanks for the save" Pidge smiled at him making Keith smile grow. "we still here" lance laughed. "i know, i was checking her over" Keith blushed and looked away. "so is the second prince often like this" pidge asked with a small smile. "yeah, he always yelling at people he know who cant yell back" James said with a frown. "someone should teach him a lesson" Pidge pouted making keith smile at how cute she looked. "I'm sure they will" Keith smiled and ruffled Pidge hair. 

"well i guess we be seeing you at tonight ball, make sure to save keith a dance" Lance grinned and giving a wink at Pidge. "sure, if you dont mind dancing with me once more" Pidge asked with a sweet smile as she looked into keith eyes. "why wouldn't i wanna dance with someone so cool" Keith smiled. 

"well we better get going, the queen wanted to talk to us" James said since the queen wanted to talk about keith over his lying about being a guard and if he still wanted to keep acting. "the queen, is everything ok" Pidge said with worry as keith and lance sent James a glare for saying the queen. "we fine, she wants to go over the protection during the ball" Lance smiled kindly and playfully hit Pidge arm making her smile. "I'm glad, well i wait for you in our secret spot" Pidge smiled and playfully hit keith arm as she walked pass and walked round the corner. "cant wait" Keith yelled with a grin and lance just smirked. 

"do i hear a date" Lance giggled. "oh come on lance you should know better then that, you only got to a secret spot to make out" James grin. "shut up before i stab you both" Keith warned before they headed to the queen tea room.

"did you miss me" Keith smirked as he stood behind Pidge on the ball room balcony. "miss you, i wonder" Pidge giggled and turned round to him. "you loo beautiful" Keith said with a smile and bright eyes as he looked her over. (she wearing the dress in the pic above but the blue was red and the black parts was green .. sorry i couldn't find a picture like i wanted an i cant draw to save my life).

"thanks and I'm surprised you dont have girls throwing themselves on you" Pidge smiled as keith had a red shirt on with a black vest, trousers and shoes. He had a white tie on and his top button undone. "girls dont like the depressing type" Keith smiled. "well looking as hot as you do right now, i dont think they care if your rich or poor" Pidge blushed and the two soon started laughing until they heard slow music.

"may i have this dance" Keith asked with a smile and held out his hand. "you may" Pidge smiled taking his and the two walked over to the dance floor.

"they look so cute together" Hunk said with a kind smile as he restock some of the food and noticed keith with Pidge dancing. "I'm glad he could find someone who makes him smile" Lance smiled brightly. "oh yeah how is that princess allura thing going for you" James asked with a grin as lance frowned. "she rejects him every time he tried to talk to her, so go easy on teasing him, i see you both tomorrow" hunk smiled before leaving to go home for the night since he had no more cooking to do.

"as soon as she saw my blue altean markings she turned her back on me, everyone knows altean are proud and wont mix blood so the only reason you meet another altean of the planet is becuase they been kicked of the planet for whatever reason or if they a royal on a mission, i dont look like a royal and she knows I'm not so of couse she pretend i dont exist since I'm just filth in her eyes" Lance said with a frown. "I'm sorry dude, if she dont see how great you are then she missing out and another girl must be out their waiting for you" James smiled and patted Lance back until he cheered up a little. 

"so do you think my son will marry her" queen Krollia asked with a small smile as she walked over to the two boys watching her son dance with Pidge. "not sure my queen" James said with a small smile. "well they seem great together to me, so why not" Krollia asked with a frown. "just because they make each other smile dont mean its love, they might just stay as friends plus dont forget about her own life" Lance said with a small smile. "oh right she has a family waiting for her" Krollia said with a frown. "yes she often tells keith about her brother and how she cant wait to fly off in their ship but she still send letters to keith so he wont get lonely" Lance smiled and the queen laughed a little. "then i guess he have to make a hard choice later" Krollia said with a small smile. "indeed, it might be one of the hardest choices he ever makes" lance said with a sad smile. 

"my queen" princess allura said with a kind voice and bowed at the queen. "how can i help you" Krollia asked while James and lance stood like idiots. "i was wondering if you had an answer to my request" Allura asked making Lance ears perk up. "well I'm afraid i cant answer, its up to prince keith himself" Krollia said with a smile. "Krollia is the request about watcher over to see who he picks" Lance asked earning a glare from allura since she saw him as dirty who should never be born and yet he was talking to the queen even using her name. "yes lance, were you able to talk to my son about it" Krollia asked like it was nothing in-normal and it wasn't she always tell lance to call her by her name since he like a son. "i talked to the prince about it and well he doesn't mind keeping her until the last week before he choose his real bride but to ask princess allura not to tell anyone about her request since he worried other girls might want the same" Lance said with a small smile. "i see, well it seems lance was able to win my son over again and helped you be able to stay until the end of the bride picking, just dont tell anyone about it" Krollia smiled kindly and Allura bowed at her again for thanks. 

"now shall we have a dance lance" Krollia smiled sweetly. "only if you can keep up" Lance joked making allura glare at him again. "i might be old but i still can dance" Krollia laughed and held her hand out that lance took before the two slow danced. In everyone eyes it was just a dance with a mother and son but in allura eyes she saw it as him dirtying the queen. "i go easy on him princess, Lance is like family to the royals something he didnt get from you people" James warned and walked away leaving a grumpy allura. 

"picking up ladies again lance" Keith smirked as lance, Pidge and keith stood in the corner with a drink. "but nice going to get the queen" Pidge giggled. "i do try" Lance laughed. "excuse me young guard but may i have this dance" the queen asked keith since she couldn't say she wanted a real mother and son dance. "yes my queen" Keith smirked and took his mother hand leading them to the dance floor. "well shall we have our own little dance" Lance grinned and held out his hand. "well that dose sound fun" Pidge smiled and took lance hand before they headed to the dance floor. 

"not bad, have often do you slow dance" Lance said impressed since he didnt see pidge as the type of girl who slow danced. "i use to step on my dad and brother feet while slow dancing with them and well keith mostly taught me to dance since i came here" Pidge said embarrassed. "stop flirting, she for the prince" Keith grinned as he and the queen danced next to them. "is that jealously my boy" Krollia grinned as the other two laughed. "oh my keith, i didnt know you were the jealous type" Pidge giggled. "oh shut up you know I'm not" Keith grinned.

"Jealousy thy name is Keith" Lance smirked and spun Pidge a little while Keith glared at him.

"thanks for the dance" Krollia smiled as the four walked back to the corner and the queen walked away to go talk with whoever. 

"wha keith" Pidge giggled as Keith grabbed her hand and spun her around. "Jealousy thy name is Keith" Lance laughed. "i just wanted to spin you two" Keith pouted and Pidge smiled at him. "was it fun" Pidge asked with a grin. "very much so" Keith said with a grin. "get a room" Lance smirked making the two blush. 

"excuse me" princess allura said in a soft voice behind keith making him nervous, will she blow his cover while Pidge was here. "oh princess Allura the queen was looking for you" Lance quickly said with worry trying to keith the third prince. "i see" Allura sighed and walked away making the two boys take a deep breath. "are you both ok" Pidge asked worried since that was strange. "its best not to ask" Keith said with a small frown and Pidge just nodded. 

"are you pidge" a maid asked nervously making the three turn to her with worry. "why do you ask" Keith asked with his arms crossed. "i was asked to pass something on to you" the maid said with worry. "by who" Lance asked since the maid was acting way to nervous. "from prince lotor, he watching me to make sure i pass it on" The maid said with worry and everyone noticed lotor watching from the other side of the room. "i see well please pass it on so you can go home, I'm sure its hard to be stared at by the second prince" Pidge said with a small smile. "I'm sorry but i must follow his orders" the maid said with fear and splashed water over Pidge while Lotor smirked as he watched. 

"that bastard" Keith hissed and quickly turned to Pidge noticing a slight green glow on her cheeks. "sorry i think i might go dry off" Pidge said in a small voice and ran out the all knowing the powder was dripping off and her altean would start to show. She ran to her room and the powder was all gone, she was thankful no one was in the halls and saw her. She grabbed a small towel and dried her face. She looked at her green glowing altean marks on her cheek and frowned. She got use to hiding them even when she asleep and seeing them reminded her of the truth in this world and how she couldn't play friends with keith anymore. 

"Pidge" Keith said in a soft voice as he opened her door after running after her with worry. "Keith" Pidge said with fear as his eyes landed on her cheeks. 

"your altean" Keith said shocked as he looked at her glowing green marks on her cheeks with her cute little freckles around them. 

"you have cute freckles" Keith smiled and walked over to the shocked scared girl. 

"i know i should have told you but" Pidge started to say as she shook with fear by how he hate her.

"i think you look beautiful like this" Keith smiled shocking her.

"but I'm a mix blood" Pidge said shocked. 

"your still cute" Keith smiled back. 

"really" Pidge asked and keith nodded with a kind smile. 

"you have normal human ears, normal human skin but altean marks .. how about their mind power" Keith asked with a small smile. "yes i have it but you can only use it to close altean friends or family, maybe sometimes an outsider but they must have a great bond" Pidge said with a soft voice. 

"that really cool, why hide it" Keith said with a grin.

"becuase mix bloods are killed for being born, i knew princess allura would be here and if she noticed i be tortured and beheaded along with my brother" Pidge said with worry. 

"i wont let her do that, I'll protect you" Keith said with a kind smile and held her hands. 

"thank you keith" Pidge smiled. 

"so your part human and part  altean, that the type of mix blood you have right" Lance said with a smirk in the doorway shocking the two. 

"how did you" Keith asked. 

"because no one else in the world look close to a real human, some say  altean do but they got pointy ears and different types of skin along with their marks" Lance smiled. 

"yes my mother was a human and my father  altean, they met in space when my father was doing a mission and she was kidnapped by other aliens, he bought her back and hid her but they were found and killed, me and my brother wasn't killed straight away they wanted to play with us a little, we escaped after years of tortured and we hoping to reach earth to live a new better life" Pidge said with a sad smile.

"yeah our people are dicks" Lance grinned and Pidge nodded. 

"well we help keep your secret hidden and keep you safe along with your brother" Keith smiled. 

"thanks" pidge smiled.
