60: Road Runner In A Nutshell

"Sooo, I can help?" Steven asked, making Peridot think for a moment before speaking. "I could use your experience dealing with these things. It just doesn't seem fair." Peridot huffed, making Steven look at her. "Why's that?" Steven asked, tilting his head.

"With you, me and Labby teaming up that thing won't stand a chance!" Peridot smirked, believing it to be a easy job as both Peridot and Steven laughed.

Labradorite looked around, unaware of the joke. Until the Corrupted Gem trampled the two gems, making her gasp and race over to the two.

"Are you okay?" Labradorite said, only for Peridot to sit up going: "After it!" Pointing at the corrupt gem, pulling herself up and racing after the gem, making Steven and Labradorite race after the green gem.

Peridot and Steven crawled to a nearby rock to monitor the corrupted Gem while Labradorite just stood next to the rock, already done with the twos antics.

"...What's it doing?" Peridot asked as the Corrupted Gem stared at a injector stuck in a wall above them, unmoving.

"Maybe it likes shiny things..?" Steven asked, looking at Peridot as the corrupted Gem stared at the injector, tilting their head, their tongue lolling out of their mouth.

"This is perfect!" Peridot squealed, standing up from behind the rock with a smile. "I've just concocted a flawless Perry Plan!" Peridot smirked. "So what's the PP?" Steven asked.

"Are you sure it's flawless?" Labradorite asked right after Steven, letting her Aquamarine show. "If I use my metal powers, the whole thing will fall onto the monster! It is guaranteed to work!" Peridot took a glance at Labradorite for the last part.

"Give it a try." Steven encouraged with a smile. Peridot used her powers to wiggle one of the legs. "Carefully..." Peridot muttered as she concentrated on her powers. The leg fell off near the Corrupted Gem, making a throw up it's tongues, making a sound.

"It's not falling." Steven pointed out, looking at Peridot. Labradorite gave another 'are you sure?' glance at Peridot, making her want to try harder for this to work.

"Maybe another leg needs to go." Peridot said, wiggling another leg, making it pop off the injector and making the corrupted Gem stare at it. Peridot growled, seeing her plan buffer once more.

"Fall!" Peridot yelled getting rid of another leg. "You! Stupid!" Peridot popped off another leg so that it was only dangling on it's drill.

It still didn't fall on the corrupted Gem. The corrupted Gem only looked a the legs that popper off one by one, before running away.

"OH COME ON!" Peridot yelled, angrily throwing her hands in the air. Peridot raced over under the injector and kicked at the wall in a self destructive manner.

"FALL ALREADY!" Peridot demanded, continuing to kick the wall. The injector started to weaken it's grip on the wall. "Peridot watch out!" Both Steven and Labradorite yelled for Peridot to move out of the way.

Peridot just stared up at the injector like a deer in headlights before responding. "Oh right, thank you." Peridot thanked, moving out of the way of the injector and kicking the wall, instead getting piled by a bunch of rocks.

"Peridot!" Steven yelled, racing over only to stop as the corrupted Gem ran infront of him and the pile of rocks.

Peridot poked her head out of the rocks. "There it is! Get it!" Peridot shrieked as Labradorite pulled her from the rocks.

The corrupted gem looked at Steven and pounced, making Steven summon his shield as the corrupted Gem scratched at the surface of his pink shield.

"Keep distracting it! I'll finish it off!" Peridot yelled, Labradorite wasn't fast enough and the Injector slammed onto Peridot.

The corrupted Gem ran off and Steven tip toed over to the squished Peridot. "You okay?" Steven asked as Labradorite pulled Peridot from under the injector. "I think we need to.... revise our strategy..." Peridot muttered, wrapping an arm around Labradorite's shoulders to keep steady. "You certainly do." Labradorite gave Peridot a side eye.

"Are you ready for the second Perry Plan?" Peridot asked after a few moments of rest. "The first one wasn't so great..." Steven muttered, he seemed to be having so many doubts. "Yes. Noted Steven." Peridot seemed to snarl.

"But this plan is even more flawless!" Peridot said, smirking as a injector tube sat behind her. "Labby and I cannibalized the injector to make a rudimentary cannon!" Peridot says, seemingly trying to show off her intelligence.

"Observe." Peridot simply said as she walked behind the make shift cannon, turning it to the side and pressing down a lever in the back, sending the rock that was inside flying.

"Woah, impressive." Steven said, Peridot seemed to get increasingly more confident about her Perry Plan. "Ya got that right." Peridot smirked, leaning against her repurposed invention. "This way we can take it out from a distance!" Peridot said.

"There it is!" Steven yelled as the Corrupted Gem ran past them. "I got it." Peridot said, aiming the cannon towards the corrupted Gem.

The corrupted Gem threw it's tongues up in the air, making Peridot chuckle darkly. "You clod." Peridot muttered, pressing down the lever.

Only for nothing to happen. "..Huh?" Labradorite said as she got up from the rock, she was sitting on, confused.

Labradorite looked in the clear glass for a moment before peering in the hole that was supposed to fire rocks. At that moment, Peridot banged on the invention.

"Work you stupid-!" The invention fired back, making Peridot slam into the wall behind her and for rocks to fall on her. Labradorite, unmoving, stood up straight, her face being cooked and a frown on her face as the Corrupted Gem pounced on Steven.

"...Okay. I've analyzed the problems with the two Perry Plans." Peridot said, the tip of her once triangular hair now bent from the pressure of the rocks and a few scratches in her hair.

Steven looked traumatized, his hair being matted and some chucks of his hair were missing, scratches on his clothes and skin litter him and he looked on edge.

Labradorite looked slightly irritated after the last Perry Plan with her arms folded and her face looking slightly crispy she was most likely going to watch instead of collaborate.

"Reliaing on the injectors introduced, too many complicating variables. Now we have to rely on simple physics!" Peridot looked quite crazy as she stood next to a bolder on a cliff.

"We'll wait until it gets right up under us, not suspecting a thing, because it's so dumb. And them we'll drop this rock on it's STUPID HEAD!" Peridot fumed, she was so mad to be outsmarted twice by a corrupted Gem. It made her look like a fool, and infront of Labradorite no less!

The corrupted Gem was a menace that needed to be stopped! Luckily Peridot was going to stop them. "It's even more flawless! And at this height nothing can fall on us!" Peridot yelled, her voice echoing into the vast beta kindergarten.

"What if it doesn't stop where we want it to?" Steven asked worried. "Simple." Peridot pushed Labradorite off the cliff under where the rock was going to fall. "No one can not fall for Labradorite's charm!" Peridot said almost hysterical.

Suddenly growling could be heard next to them. It was the corrupted Gem. The Gem pushed the two off the cliff and 'accidentally' pushed the Boulder off with them.

Peridot fell on the ground hard while Steven floated down gracefully, looking at Labradorite who had her arms crossed and looking down at Peridot with a slight glare.

Peridot tried to get a word in, but the Boulder crushed her making her roll with the Boulder like a snow ball but much more rough.

Steven chased after the Boulder while Labradorite flew over to the Boulder, keeping her eyes on it. The Boulder rolled around and ended up behind Steven, making him summon his bubble and bumped into the boulder, making him spin in the same thing the Boulder spun in and bumping into the Boulder one more time, getting Peridot off the Boulder.

The Boulder spun around half way. Peridot tried to speak once more but the Boulder slammed onto her face. "You dont poof easily, huh?" Steven asked. "Peridot's are very resilient." Labradorite told Steven. "Us Peridot's are tougher than we look!" Peridot strained. "Not smarter than you look. That's for certain" Labradorite muttered, pushing the Boulder off of Peridot.

[A/n: hey, I think I have them all under control, good thing to, I might have cracked under the pressure, but hopefully you like this chapter! See ya - Bee]
