TW: Swearing at the end of the chapter

Steven immediately went to reach out for Jasper, only for Amethyst to hold him back, muttering a "Steven, be careful."

Steven looked up at Amethyst, worry glossing his eyes. "But this just happened! Maybe I can do something!" Steven said worried for the Soon to be corrupt Jasper.

Steven turned to face the distrusting Jasper with a worried smile. "Jasper, it's okay, I'm here." Steven said, trying to be soothing as he approached, it unfortunatelydidn't work with the soldierin question.

"Rose..." Jasper growled, her glare set on Steven and Steven alone as she held her Corrupted arm. "I'm not Rose. I'm Steven, I just want to try and heal you." Steven said worried as he licked his hand and tried to touch Jasper's Corrupted arm.

Jasper snapped bringing her hand up and ripping Steven's shirt, making Amethyst scream his name and making Dioptase look over at the commotion.

Seeing the rip on his shirt made Dioptase gasp and ready her blade. Amethyst raced over, attempting to kick Jasper, however Steven stopped her.

"I see how you do it now, Rose." Everyone stopped and looked at Jasper. "You want gems after they're worthless. You wait until after they've lost. Because when you're at the bottom. You'll follow anyone. It makes you feel like less of a failure." Jasper growled as Dioptase approached.

"Just look at those two hiding in fusion!" Dioptase flinched at Jasper's pointing, but kept her stance.

"You've stripped them of everything, Peridot's limb enhancers, her status, and their dignity." Jasper growled, Dioptase scowled at Jasper.

"We still have one of those things." Dioptase glared. "How can you side with Rose Quartz!?" Jasper yelled.

"Why? Why protect this useless shell of a planet?" Jasper growled, Dioptase stepped back slightly, hardening her glare. "It's not a shell, there's so much life living here!" Dioptase said, slightly confused at Jasper's question. 

"And that's what we're doing! I'm living here!" Dioptase said, a small smile fitting on her face. "We've been learning new things about us all the time! Like-" Dioptase thought for a while before speaking. "Like how I can make metal do my bidding!" Dioptase said, dropping her weapon making it fall with a metal, 'CLANG!'

Dioptase cleared her throat. "What I'm trying to say is: Earth can set you free." Dioptase smiled, extending a hand towards Jasper. Dioptase felt a sense of familiarity.

She knew Jasper and she wanted to help her, she wanted to save her, but she also felt fear. She was scared of Jasper, she knew that Jasper could crush her gem like a grape. But that didn't matter.

Jasper growled something under her breath as her Corruption grew to her other hand, frightening the party of three.

"I got out because I'm better than everybody." Jasper growled, her Corruption growing up her body. "I only come back to finish you off." Jasper said, staring into Steven's soul.

"Try not to move!" Steven warned, Jasper snaked up to him, pointing a finger at him. "You can't manipulate me Rose Quartz!" Jasper snarled, making Steven freeze in his spot.

"I'm-I'm not manipulating! I'm trying to help!"  Steven said only to get cut off by a corrupting Jasper.

"Help? HELP?!" Jasper growled spikes growing from her skin getting larger and larger in size. "I'VE BEEN FIGHTING FROM THE SECOND I BROKE FREE FROM THE EARTH'S CRUST, BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU DID TO MY COLONY, BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU DID TO MY PLANET!" Jasper punched at the sand beneath her.

"BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU DID TO MY DIAMOND!" Everyone paused as Steven spoke up. "I- Yellow Diamond?" Jasper snarled even more.

"MY DIAMOND, YOUR DIAMOND, PINK DIAMOND!?" That seemed to be Jasper pushed last straw as she finally became fully Corrupted, her form twisting into something bearly recognizable.

Dioptase immediately sprang into action and picked up her weapon, stabbing the bearly recognizable Jasper in the chest.

The second Dioptase's weapon made contact she poofed and her gem fell onto the ground. Dioptase twirled her weapon and placed the end into he ground.

"You're... welcome..." Dioptase tried to chuckled during the tense silence. Amethyst smiled lightly, but it faded as she walked up to Jasper's dormant gem.

Amethyst got down on her knees and sighed. Amethyst took Jasper's gem in her hands with a "come here sis." And gently bubbled the gem, sending it up to the bubble room.

Steven walked up to Amethyst with a sorrowful look in his eye. Amethyst leaned on Steven as both of them looked in the sky, mourning.

Finally once the two were done mourning over the loss of Jasper, they all finally walked over to the barn.  "I don't want to do anything alllll day." Amethyst said as the three were nearing the barn.

"Oh yeah, Dioptase, are you going to unfuse anytime soon?" Steven asked looking up as said tall fusion. Dioptase hummed for a moment before responding.

"I don't want to... kinda feels good to be me. Feels warm..." Dioptase responded, hugging herself with a slight smile to her features.

Only for her face to fall as she saw something she didn't want to see. "Hey, Dioptase..?" Steven went silent as he saw the commotion for himself.

The crystal gems were standing infront of Lapis, whom had five Rubies in bubbles. "The Rubies are back!?" Steven yelled, slightly irritated.

"They showed up on their little ship acting very angry." Lapis explained, eyeing Dioptase with a slight unfamiliarity. "So I put them in timeout."  Lapis shrugged, looking back at Steven.

"I thought we were done with these guys." Steven muttered, walking up to the five water bubbles. "Why did you come back here?" Steven asked, placing his hands onto his hips.

"Let's release one and just ask what they're up to." Garnet suggested, cheering Steven up. "Oh oh! Can I pick?" Steven asked with a jolly smile.

"Go for it." Garnet said. Steven hummed and smiled. "Let's talk to Leggy!" Steven pointed to said Ruby, who looked at him in confusion.

"Leggy?" Pearl asked confused. "I named them off the placement of their gems, there's Leggy, Army, Navy, Eyeball, and uhh Doc." Steven gestured to all the respective Rubies and their names. "Leggy seems like the easiest to talk too." Steven said, shrugging lightly. 

"Alright, Leggy, come on down!" Lapis let Leggy out of her bubble and Leggy fell in the floor. "Hey! Hi!" Steven waved to Leggy as she looked up at him.

"I'm Steven, what brings you back to earth?" Steven asked as Leggy got up. "Uhh, I.... don't.... know.." Leggy shrugged, holding her arms in the air.

"Ah, I understand, I used to forget why we go on missions all the time." Steven mused. "I'll just... stand over there.." Leggy said, walking over to the side of the barn and standing there in the crystal gems line of sight.

"Let's take a chance on Army." Steven suggested, Lapis popped Army's bubble letting her fall to the floor.

Only for Army to get up again and growl, charging at Steven. "I'LL TEAR YOU LIMB FROM-" Army was cut off as Garnet grabbed Army by her uniform.

"Hey! Don't be like that." Garnet said. "WHY U OUTTA RAZZLE FAZZLE-" Army growled making Garnet coo at the Ruby and carry her under her arm. "Next!" Garnet called with a smile. "Uhh, Navy..?" Steven started to doubt himself.

Navy was dropped, Steven asked his question. "If I remember correctly, we were on Earth-" Navy cut herself off as she locked eyes with Dioptase. Navy's cheeks reddened and she shyed and ran away. "Uhh... Eyeball..?"

"I ain't going to tell yall nothin about nothin!" Eyeball snarled, her gem shining in the light. "The only one left now is: Doc." Steven said.

Doc was dropped by she landed on her feet, surprisingly. "Where's Jasper!?" Doc snapped. "Last time we came you tricked us into playing that Stupid game!"  Doc growled loudly.

"Then you said 'she's on Neptune!' So we look and she wasn't there! She wasn't on Neptune! Or any other planet in this whole dang solar system! So tell us where she is right now." Doc snarled as the other Rubies dashed next to Doc.

"No games, no tricks, and no slick disguises." Doc punched her open hand as the other Rubies cheered on their leader.

"Hey!" The slightly familiar voice yelled, making everyone turn to the voice. "Is that fucking Amethyst?" A hand slapped Dioptase in her mouth.
