Perseus pov
One day, during the battle I decided to talk a walk through the woods near Troy. I thought subconsciously of possibly looking for that elusive woman I talked with, but was never able to find.
As I was walking I heard a heavy snort! I drew out of my thoughts and looked around for the source of the noise. Out of the foliage around me came a wild boar. This was no ordinary boar. It was giant, as big as a cow with tusks the size of long swords. As I watched it morphed into a person but continued to grow bigger and bigger until he was bigger than a person, about 11 feet tall.
The man grinned in a sick kind of way "Hello Perseus." He said in a menacing way.
"Do I know you?" I asked wearily.
"No, but I know you!" as he said this he drew a two-handed broadsword from a sheath on his back.
"Ares?" I questioned.
"He, he! You're smarter than you look kid!" Ares said.
"We've noticed you've been doing too good, too good to be mortal you see."
"I've been ordered to take you to Olympus and we can do it the easy way, or the hard way!" Ares began grinning again in a sardonic manner.
I drew my hunting knives "I'm sorry, I'm not going to Olympus."
"Boy oh boy!" Ares said brandishing his sword menacingly, "I was hoping you'd say that!"
Ares then charged right at me. I spun to the side and slashed at him as he passed butting his shoulder a bit. Ares looked at it and bellowed "Now I'm mad!"
I knew I could never beat him in one on one combat. I might be able to outsmart him though.
I decided t try and distract him by keeping him talking.
"Why are you gods interested in a mortal like me?" I probed.
"I don't really understand it myself." Ares replied, "It would make a lot more sense for us gods to ignore specks like you!"
As he spoke he swung his sword around slashing at me. Side, side, overhead. I wanted answers, maybe he could unwillingly give them to me.
"What are you Olympians doing?" I tried again.
He took the bait, "Watching the war mainly." he said excitedly. Side swipe.
"You must like battle being the war god." Side swipe.
"Oh, yes!" he yelled and overhead.
He's fighting in a pattern! I realized He's using his power to make up for strategy. I can work with this!
"You're very strong!" I exclaimed.
"I have to be; I'm the god of war!" Even though he was still trying to kill me, he seemed more lax now, so I struck. Side, Side, overhead! On his overhead stroke I knelt down, instead of dodging like he expected, and brought both of my daggers together in a X to bloke his sword between them. Holding his sword there I didn't give him a chance to react and dropped one hand, the other still holding his sword, and stabbed him in the chest.
Ares bellowed in anger and pain. He wrenched out of the position, picked me up and threw me as hard as he could. This wasn't the worst he could do when he had me. I landed deftly on my feet and spun around to face him again, when something hard smashed into my skull from behind. Everything proceeded to go dark.
Time skip of Amaizingness I have a horse named Blackjack!
When I came to, I wasn't in the forest anymore. I knew I was on Olympus. Looking around I couldn't see much. I was trapped with chains made out of some kind of bronze-like material. The chains were connected to metal cuffs of the same material around my hands, the cuffs themselves were connected together as well. I tried to look up and found another cuff went around my neck. None were on my feet however.
Almost as soon as I took this in the door to what I'm guessing is an Olympus prison cell, opened. My captor emerged. Ares came inside grabbed the ends of the chains which were embedded into the ground and pulled lightly. Almost magically the chain freed themselves from the ground.
Ares growled "Move!"
I replied "I can't the chains around my neck..."
Ares looked at me with eyes that glowed red and literally have miniature flames dancing inside of them and growled "What chains around your neck?"
I started to move forwards and found their was no more chain around my neck. I looked at Ares in surprise and he smiled cruelty.
"Now move!"
So I slowly walked behind him as he led me somewhere. We walked down three hallways, taking different turns at different points along. Each hall was decorated luxuriously. There were no windows however, that I was able to find. At the end of the third hall was a small set of grand doors, roughly tall enough so Ares could walk under them comfortably.
"Behave yourself, or you'll regret it." Ares said with malice.
Ares then opened the doors and I saw the throne room of Olympus. Ares lead me to the center of the throne room, next to the giant Hearth in the center. The gods were all positioned around the Hearth. They sat their at their full heights, roughly 10 feet tall. Some were in different forms, Apollo looked to be as old as a teenager. Artemis and the goddess sitting next to the Hearth, a child. I can guess this is Hestia. I can also assume which god is which based on their thrones, appearance and decorations.
Ares threw down the chains as I was making these deductions and they promptly sunk into the ground and held fast. All the gods watch and Ares whispered into my ear.
"Stay."
The gods continued watching me as Ares returned to his seat. Then Zeus spoke,
"You, Perseus have been called to Olympus to determine who and what you are." He gave me a pointed look and continued, "Because you resisted, your punishment shall be more severe and you are kept in unfortunate circumstances."
At this Zeus gestured to the chains holding me to the ground. Then he gestured again for another god to continue. In this case it was the goddess Athena, goddess of Wisdom who began "questioning" me.
"Who are your parents?" She asked.
"Odysseus and Penelope," I replied in a half-truth.
Athena then turned to Apollo who promptly said, "He speaks the truth, yet it is a lie."
He looked at me curiously, "I can't determine which is which."
Zeus then spoke to Ares, "Loosen up his tongue."
Ares stepped down and laughed, "Revenge is sweet, ha, ha!"
He stepped forwards and hit me in the back of the head, hard. He then hit my stomach with all of his godly strength. Athena continued,
"Who are your parents?"
"I don't know." I replied.
Apollo spoke immediately, "He speaks the truth."
I made eye contact with him and he looks at me with slight worry. He knows what I did for him. I realized, He must have noticed.
Athena asked her next question, "Do you have two parents?"
"How do I answer that?" I asked.
"What do you mean?" Athena asked, interest piqued.
"I mean, I have two parent figures, yes. Odysseus and Penelope." I stated, "But I don't know what it is you want to know."
Athena looked down and replied, "Do you know of anything relating to your heritage?"
"Only that Odysseus said he would tell me when I was older."
"He's telling the truth." Apollo confirmed.
Athena asked again, "Do you have any powers?"
"What?" I asked surprised, "No, not that I know of."
Apollo confirmed again that I was telling the truth.
Zeus then interrupted angrily, "What are we gaining from this?!"
"Ares!" He ordered, "Beat the punk until he spills every thing he's done in his life!"
"Father!" Athena exclaimed, "We've learned quite a lot!"
"Like what?" Zeus asked angrily.
"Like that he was raised by Odysseus and Penelope and that he doesn't have any powers. We've learned he has no knowledge of the gods, other than being taught by mortals."
Zeus nodded for Athena to continue.
"I think he is just an exceptionally talented mortal." Athena finished, "But, at the same time... What mortal would be able to stand up to a god?"
The gods then began discussing among themselves. They weren't very good at it though; they squabbled and fought among themselves as they tried to discus and worried able who was with who and all sorts of sibling rivalry stuff. As they were distracted, I tried to formulate a plan. If only I could remove these chains, and get Ares away. I could make a run for it. I struggled a bit with the chains and when I strained them, they moved. They shifted ever so slightly.
"We need more answers!" Zeus declared, "We don't have enough information."
"Ares!" Zeus ordered, "Put him in a "talking" mood."
Ares smiled gleefully and moved behind me before smashing my face against the ground. He pulled my head up and did it again. Excruciating pain filled my head and seemed to flow down me body. My nose broke on the second hit and I could feel bruises already forming. Blood was rushing in my ears and it was all I could hear. Blood began rushing down my face and I felt immense pain. I prepared myself for another hit, but it never came. Instead I became aware of the gods acting strangely, my eyes were closed, but the gods were silent. Slowly, I opened my eyes I saw the gods all looking awestruck. AI felt blood on my forehead and I reach up, as far as the chains would allow, to wipe it off. Instead of red like I was expecting, I saw a silvery - golden kind of substance.
"He's immortal!" Athena exclaimed.
