Quick tidbit: Perseus has a deep midnight colored bow with a silver sting and outlines. He also has two wicked daggers made of silver & steel.

Percy's pov

I was really enjoying the long trip from Achilles providence to Troy. It was made all the more fun being with Achilles and the Myrmidons; they were constantly fighting with banter or sword, which was pretty amusing. I even got to sleep in my own cabin! I think it is supposed to be Achilles' but he prefers to be with the Myrmidons anyways.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see Patroclus there.

"Hail, Patroclus!" I said to him.

"Hail, Perseus!" Patroclus replied with a grin.

"I was wondering if you'd like to skirmish with me?"

"Are you sure you want to fight me?"

"Yes, of course I am or I wouldn't have asked!"

Achilles hearing the ruckus approached us cautiously.

"What are you two arguing about?" He inquired.

"Patroclus wants to skirmish with me." I quickly explained.

"Then let him fight with you!" Achilles replied, barley suppressing a smile.

"Ok," I replied turning towards Patroclus.

"You ready?" I confirmed.

"Yes but let's get to the center of the ship and lay down the base rules first." Patroclus explained, I nodded in reply.

"Achilles," I turned toward the man in question "Would you like to referee?"

"Absolutely!" Achilles replied grinning fiercely.

"Any weapons allowed," Achilles announced "Disable your opponent; do not harm them!"

"Are the Fighters ready?!" Achilles now looked to us and we both nodded. "3, 2 Begin!"

Achilles caught Patroclus off guard and so I had my bow already loaded and pointing at his chest, before he realised the fight had begun. I let the arrow loose, aiming it at his sword's hilt; it would be best to make him drop it. The arrow flew true, but Patroclus was trained by Achilles, so with excellent reflexes he brought up his shield and the arrow hit with a Thunk! 

By then I already had two other arrows sent his way and he successfully blocked both of them. I knew that if I were to continue firing, I would win. Apparently Patroclus figured that out too; he threw his shield like a discus in the Olympics and it collided with my bow. It didn't break it, my bow is too strong for that, it knocked it out of my hands and it skidded across the deck of the ship. Patroclus instantly pushed his new found advantage and came close enough to be within striking range of his blade.

In response to his movements I drew my two hunting knives and held one in an icepick grip (aka blade pointing down at the ground). Patroclus swung his sword in a slow ark, testing my defence. I parried the blade, to his surprise. Using my other blade, I retaliated, also testing, but this time his defence. He pulled the blade back to deflect my strike and backed away slightly.

I took a step forward, getting right up next to him, past his guard. I slipped one of my daggers to the front of his neck and the other to the back of it. Patroclus' sword was pinned between his chest and mine; I had won. I slipped out of the position with ease and congratulated Patroclus, even though he didn't win.

"Good job," I congratulated "you did well."

"Not well enough I reckon." Patroclus replied with a sheepish grin.

"Well, well, well," Achilles said as he butted in "Good job Percy, I'm impressed."

"Thank you," I started "But don't call me percy!"

Laughing Achilles turned to Patroclus and suggested "We should celebrate!"

"Celebrate what?" Patroclus asked confusedly.

"Why your defeat of course!" Achilles exclaimed joyfully "Will you join us Percy?"

"No, I have to find and take care of my bow." I stated glaring slightly as I said it at Patroclus who looked back sheepishly.

With that I went to find my bow and spotted it aport. I retrieved it, went into my cabin and began cleaning it, soon I would polish it. It was going to be a long trip after all.
