Chapter 6

Saturday, 02:17 pm.

"... You must be Nya, this dork's girlfriend. Nice to meet you!"

Nya's face immediately went haywire. She turned to Jay who was just as red as she was. He luckily stepped in, cutting off the unbearable silence.

"C-Cole, we... umm... she's not my... you know..."

Needless to say, it was awkward.

Cole raised an eyebrow at the two. "Really? I mean, you have been talking about her a lot and are blushing like crazy when- mmhpfff!" He was cut off by a hand smacked on his mouth. Cole smirked inwardly, licking the palm of his friend's hand.

"Eww! Cole, what the heck?!" Jay withdrew his hand and rubbed it against Cole's shoulder to get his spit off of him.

"That's for putting your dirty paw on my mouth."

"But you literally licked my 'dirty paw'." Jay raised an eyebrow, smirking.

Cole's eyes widened. Then he let out a fake, loud sigh and headed over to the groceries. He grabbed the bags, turning to them. "I'm gonna stack these up, you can do whatever you want. Just tell me when you leave." He then walked into the kitchen.

Jay looked at Nya. "Wanna see my room?" He asked excitedly like a little child.

She nodded just as childishly. And just like he'd done it before, he grabbed her hand, startling her, and pulled her after him. It wasn't even a long run, only a few feet into the right corridor. There were two doors. Both doors were made out of brown wood, and Jay made his way over to the second one, opening it. That meant that the first one was probably Cole's.

Once Nya walked into his room, the first thing she noticed was that the room was quite bigger than she had anticipated. There was a double bed with blue bedsheets in the middle against the white wall that looked quite bouncy due to the fact that Jay immediately plopped onto it, spreading his limbs out and looking at her. She laughed, feeling as if she was babysitting a grown up toddler. But somehow she liked that. There was a closet built into the wall with slidable, blue doors and a huge drawer next to it with a body sized mirror on its other side. On the other side of the room was a blue beanbag with a huge desk where he probably did all his school stuff, she assumed. Well, his school bag was on the floor right next to it, so.

But what caught her eye was the pictures hung on the wall above the dresser. She slowly walked up to them, feeling his eyes following, and stopped once she was standing in front of them. There she saw a lot of pictures, actually. She recognized a lot of the people on them as his parents and some of their old friends.

Her gaze stopped on one particular picture. She took a closer look at the two people on it, recognizing one of them as Jay and the other one as herself. She was piggybacking on his back in front of her parents' house in their hometown, both of them smiling widely into the camera. They both looked so happy and she also remembered that moment as one of her happiest moments she could remember.

However, it was also the last picture they had taken together a few days before he had to move away and leave her.

Noticing her vision locked onto that specific picture, Jay slowly rolled onto her side and got off of the bed. Then, without any warnings, he wrapped his arms around Nya's waist, hugging her from behind. The fact that she didn't object actually sent butterflies through his whole body. In fact, she leaned into his touch and relaxed in his arms, wanting to be held, holding his hands that were on her stomach with her own.

"That was taken before we even knew it was gonna be our last." She began, sighing.

"I know," He sighed, taking a deep sniff of her hair. "I know. But I'm glad I've found you again."

She smiled. "We've changed so much." She remarked, taking a look at the mirror to their right.

Jay then turned both of their bodies towards the mirror. "That's right," He smiled sheepishly. "I'm much more taller than you." He looked down to her.

Nya scoffed and turned her head up to him. "You can be glad because that's the only feature that's actually changed about you the most." She smirked triumphantly.

"Oh please, and what's changed about you that much?" He asked, closing one of his eyes to stare with the other one directly into hers, making her giggle.

She looked back at the picture on the wall. "I guess my style, the hair, and my shape. Though I kinda miss wearing kimonos all day, but in the city, a lot of people just don't respect culture anymore." She sighed.

"I'm sorry." He said, giving her a light peck on the cheek once he felt even more confident now.

"Don't be." Nya quickly answered, blushing while turning to face him in his embrace.

Her hands now resting on his shoulders, almost touching his neck, she looked deep into his eyes, feeling the tingly feeling inside she always did whenever she looked into his mesmerizing, blue eyes.

"I'm kinda into this style as well." She said, almost losing focus.

Jay took a deep breath in thoughts.

Here goes nothing.

"You look gorgeous no matter what you wear." He answered, trying to be at least a little bit cool, though he did feel like a blushing mess.

Nya's eyes widened, a small smile creeping up on her face. "Thanks." She murmured, looking down, feeling her face also beginning to get red.

She felt one of his hands moving to the side of her waist, holding it lightly, and his other hand completely left her body. Then she felt the missing hand on her cheek, bringing her face back up to look at him. All she saw was adoration and affection in his eyes, leaving her questioning what he must've seen in hers.

Her eyes widened in shock once he tilted her head and started to lean forward, slowly closing his eyes in the process. Her heart beating abnormally fast, she felt herself closing her eyes as well, anticipating the now inevitable.

And so it happened.

His capturing hers, their lips finally met. The kiss began slow and grew more passionate the more seconds passed. One of Nya's hands sneaked its way behind Jay's neck and pulled him further down, her other hand gently placed on his chest, feeling his heart beating just as fast as hers. Jay stopped caressing her cheek and moved his hand back to her waist, pulling her flush close against his body.

After a few minutes, they needed to occasionally breathe, so they pulled apart, both trying to keep their panting under control.

Their little moment got interrupted by clapping. They both jumped in surprise, their heads whipping towards the door. Cole was leaning against the doorway, still wrapped in his bathrobe, smiling at them and clapping a few more times before crossing his arms.

"And here I believed you weren't a thing." He shook his head playfully. After getting no response, he realized they were still under shock, so he continued. "I just came here to ask if you wanted to have lunch. But I'll leave you alone for a while." He said, grabbing the door handle. But then he gave them a strict look. "But keep in mind that I don't want to become an uncle yet!" He warned, mostly looking at Jay. Then he closed the door, but reopened it straight away. "But congrats, though!" He cheered, now leaving the room completely.

The two were still in each other's arms when they looked back at each other.

"What are we doing?" Nya asked, sighing and looking away. "This is so wrong."

"Why's that?" Jay asked.

Nya then looked into his eyes. "Jay, I'm your student.

"So?"

Nya tilted her head, giving him a sad look. "Teachers can't date their students. It's against the law."

Jay's eyebrows creased in worry. "But it's our lives!" He protested. "Besides, I-... I wanna be with you."

She smiled, moving her hand up to his cheek to caress it. "I want to be with you too."

"You do?" He asked lightly, his breath suddenly leaving his body.

She nodded.

A smile crept up on his face. "Then let's hide it. We don't have to tell anyone, just us knowing is enough. Of course we'll tell your brother, and Cole just found out, but that's it." He suggested with hope in his tone. "In school, we won't know each other, but when the school's over, we can be who we wanna be! What do you say?"

With the hand caressing Jay's cheek creeping back to the back of his neck, she pulled him back down and lightly pecked his lips. "I'd like that." She murmured against his lips, her hot breath meeting his skin, her answer making his smile grow wider.
