"What are you doing here!?" I ask, laughing and hugging my mom tightly.

I was mad at her for so long, but when I saw her my anger dissipated and all I could do was crumble into her hug.

My dad hugged me awkwardly, and I half hugged him back. He didn't even see me on my last day at home all those years ago.

My mom flipped her natural baby blue hair to one side and looked from me to Cor.

I sank in my own body. "Don't, please, mom." I whispered. "You can't tell—"

She switched her eyes back to me. "Tell? Never. Sweetheart, I love you. But I'm not here to see you. None of us are."

Five adults found us. Cor's mom and fake-dad, I remember him telling me that, my parents, and Leona's dad.

"Then why are you here?" Leona asks, trying to meet all of the adult's eyes.

"Cor, I'm so sorry." Lucas says, stepping away from Leona. "I don't even know how they found her."

"What's going on?" Cor asks, his voice smaller than I've ever heard it. After nobody answers, he yells it.

"Ginny is gone." His mom whispers, shutting her eyes slowly.

Cor doesn't move, he just faces forward not blinking. "How?" He mutters.

"Someone told on us." Liam says. Liam rests a hand on his wife's shoulder. "We don't know who. They came to me and Liam and they know everything."

Cor rubs his face, hiding his emotions behind his hands. "Are they going to take all of us?"

"No, honey. They're not doing anything to us. They said you kids are going through enough things. The police department is keeping the whole thing under wraps." His mom runs her hand through his hair.

I've never seen Cor so crumpled and alone. So lost.

Surprisingly, one person moves forward. Aria. "So why are you guys here. I see why Cor's parents came, but why you three?"

My mom gives Lucas an odd look, and Lucas stands a little straighter. "Because I was the one harboring Cor's sister." He says.

"Woah— sister?" Sage exclaims, but clamps his own hand around his mouth.

"Dad? Why?" Leona asks, shocked and angry. "You could get killed for that!"

Lucas pats his hand in the air, shushing her. "I know I know, but I owe Cor's family everything."

"Why? Dad, why would you owe Cor's family anything?" Leona storms up to her father and glares at him.

"Because Cor is my son! Because it's my fault he was born illegally!" Lucas yells, startling all of us.

Leona backs up and shakes her head. "No but— no. Cor is... no." She looks at Cor and then at her dad. "What? Are you saying—"

"I got around after high school, I cheated on your mom and Cor's mom cheated on Liam. Cor Reynolds is my child, your half brother. If Cor wasn't born, his sister wouldn't be illegal." Lucas shouts, causing us all to stiffen up.

"Then why are you here?" I ask my mom.

She looks down at the ground and shakes her head. "I owed a favor to Lucas."

"If you tell me Cor is my brother I'm going to—"

"Elders no, no. No that's not what I'm saying. Never. You're father would kill Lucas in a heartbeat." I peak around my mom and my dad is just standing looking awkward and out of place. Hard to believe he's a Scorpio. "No, I'm here because I owe him for something else."

I shrug. "So you owe him, but why are you here."

Her mouth straightens. "Ginny is currently being held at our house." Her silver eyes face me with sorrow and regret.

This day just keeps getting better and better.

I turn around and kick sand up, shaking my head. "I thought police knew about her!"

My mom nods. "They do. She's staying with us until they execute her tomorrow." My mom winks and I understand.

"You guys are letting her escape." I whisper.

The adults nod. "I'm not giving up my daughter." Cor's mom kisses Cor's head.

Cor this entire time hasn't said a single thing.

"Cor— I'm so sorry." Lucas is almost in tears as he repeats apologies.

Cor's jaw locks and he removes his hands, revealing red eyes. "Save your acting for the big screen, Lucas. You're apologies mean as much to me as the dirt on the bottom of my shoes."

Cor takes off towards the cars and I move without thinking, chasing him.
