I didn't think I'd like any of his songs because I wasn't a big 1D person, and all of Zane's songs were just eh, but Harry's WHOLE ALBUM IS JUST AMAZING!!! Even Niall's new song Slow Hands is pretty good. It gives off that old-timey vibe without being old-timey and I just love it sm. This song goes with the chapter SO WELL! Don't even get me started with Sweet Creature😍 ANYWAYS, here's the chapter

The moment Gem's eyes turned to falling fire was the day my world stopped. The day I knew nothing would come easy.

She knocked my door, Ancer and Seas were behind me, caught up in some argument, probably over something stupid.

Her eyes were filled with liquid fire, before they turned clear and streamed down her pretty face.

For just a moment, when the tears filled in her eyes before she blinks them away, they looked orange and glossy.

Liquid fire.

This girl was beautiful even in sadness.

She didn't say anything as she walked in and wrapped her arms around me, kicking the door shut behind her.

She cried into my shirt and I was- stunned.

I was used to being cried to. I lived with a Cancer and an over-emotional Pisces. My ex was a Cancer. And yeah she smiled more than anything, but she loved watching sad movies. Cance. Haven't thought about her in... when did I start hanging out with Gem?

But when Gem cried, it had to be something big. She found a way to joke about everything.

Even at the hospital after the big crash last year she still laughed, saying death was the least of her worries, how was she going to school?

I wrapped my arms around her and rested my chin on her head; I was at perfect height to do that.

She didn't make any sobbing noises, only the occasional raggedy breath and sniffles. Her body didn't shake, only the occasional shudder.

And we stood there. In perfect silence.

No discussing problems. Just standing in my living room.

I noticed Seas as he threw a blanket over the coffee table and then silently laughed.

Ancer hit him upside the head.

"Owe! Jerk!" He said, causing Gem to take a big step back and hit her side on the door handle.

"Stupid door handle." She said through some tears and glared at it, rubbing her side. "That's going to bruise." She mutters, putting all sorts of hate through her eyes at that doorknob.

I shook my head, facing the ground. "Glad I'm not that door handle. Your glare could kill."

Ancer and Seas waved at Gem.

"Hi Gem." They said in unison and they both looked at each other.

"I hope you trip off a bridge." Seas says randomly, causing Ancer to open his mouth in anger.

"What? Why would you say that!?" He asks.

Seas shrugs. "Because-"

"Can you two please just shut. Up." I widen my eyes at them and they both go rigid. 

"Whoops. We angered mommy Cor." Seas says with a straight face.

Ancer and him both burst out laughing, along with Gem.

These two idiots made her laugh. Maybe they were good for something.

"Ah," Ancer wipes the underneath of his eyes, tears from laughter, "I'm going to Pi's house. I'm sure-"

"I wanna go. Think she can hook us up?" Seas sits up from the couch and together they leave the dorm.

Silence.

Just pure bliss.

"Gem. What's wrong? Who did it?"  I ask, slightly angered that someone could make her this upset. "Was it Taura? I might not hit a girl but I sure as hell have Aria's number."

She shakes her head. The tears have stopped flowing and she has a closed off expression.

"No, Cor." She says my name like I imagine an angel would.

Her voice isn't soft and fragile, not even in a weak state like this, it's strong and independent.

I couldn't find something wrong with her if I tried.

"Then what is it Gem?" I walk up next to her and place my hand at the small of her back, slowly guiding her to my couch.

She shakes her head, like she's already regretting something she hasn't done.

"We can't..." She trails off. "We need..." I know what she's trying to say.

"Gem, they can't kill us. They need us." I say. "Me and you? We're staying together. I'm not changing my mind in this. I'm not a ge-"

"Gemini?" She finishes off. "Yeah. I know. I hate Minley. I don't hate you." She scoffs, trying to joke in a time like this.

"Why are you trying to end this?" I ask, staring into her sad eyes.

She doesn't want to go through a breakup.

And neither do I, shockingly.

Yeah we haven't even been together together for a long enough time to even care really, but spending this week with her was a bigger adventure than years with Cance.

I could spend a lifetime with someone and never go through what I have with Gem.

Do you ever get that feeling when something just feels right. You can't explain it. You can't justify it. You're just one hundred percent sure about something?

That's how it is with Gem.

Nobody even compares to her.

Her smile. Her laugh. Her liquid fire tears. The way she gets so excited over small things like chicken tenders and fire flies. The way she smirks. How she makes me challenge my own thoughts and beliefs.

It's a constant change with her. And it makes for excitement and fun.

"It's only for a little while. I just don't want you to... forget about me. Move on because-"

"Gem? What are you talking about?" I actually smile with incredulity.

"Well... we're going to be elders, and if we make it to that high of a position, then we can change the rules. But we'd have to be a secret until then. Best to just..." she trails off again.

"Break off before we get caught." I say.

She's so smart. Nothing. Nothing is imperfect about her.

She nods, confirming it.

"Gem. Are you okay?" I ask.

She nods. "Fine. I just- if we want this to work we have to end it first and I know you, how you are, you'll forget about me and move on to some other-"

"Don't even finish that sentence." I interrupt. "I could never do that to you, or myself, or any other girl in class. You'd be on my mind with whoever I'm with. It would be unfair to everyone. And I'm not like that. I'm not Arius. I'm not off making out with Libby behind the school." I watched him do it. I watched him make out with her behind the school, while he was dating Gem.

"I'm a background girl. I'm not pretty and confident like Leona, or smart like Virginia. I can't defend myself like Aria, or be as athletic as Capri. I'm just- me. I'm not special." She sounds so... sure of herself.

I narrow my eyes, facing her. "You're right."

"And I'm so sick of being- what?" She asks.

I nod. "One hundred percent. And don't look offended. You are acting like every other girl in the school right now." I flip fake hair behind my head. "Oh, I'm so fat. I need ten pounds of makeup. Hold on, tee hee, let me drop my pencil so you pick it up."

She looks so offended, it hurts me. I was joking, just trying to make her realize that what she's saying wasn't true. But it went a different direction.

"Wow. Yeah. Just like every other girl. You would know, you've been with all of them." She says, raising her eyebrows.

She's mad. I get that. But, "What the hell? No need to stereotype. Like hell I'd touch Capri, she got Leona and Leo hurt. I pity the guy who ends up with her." She still looks pissed. "Gem. I was kidding."

She stands up and shakes her head. "But you weren't and that's the part I hate. I'm not normally this needy and whiny."

I shrug. "Uh, I don't think you have a "normally" how your emotions are. They change every two seconds."

She gives me a pointed look. "Oh, now who's stereotyping?" She asks.

I sigh, smiling. "You're trying to push me away. I hate when people whine and so that's what you're doing. But there's obviously some truth if you're saying it. Gem, you're right. You're not pretty like Leona, you're pretty like you. You aren't smart, you're a genius. You found a loophole in the law! And Taura? She's scared crapless of you! Who needs athletics, you can run a lot longer than half the people in the school. Gem, stop comparing yourself to other people."

She doesn't understand that I can't forget her even if I tried. "All I'm saying is, you need to grow up and realize that I'm not going anywhere. Trying to dump me isn't going to get you very far. Although, if you cry you could probably bring guy to his knees." I raise one eyebrow.

She flicks her head up from hanging it and tilts it. Confusion is written on her face like a novel. "What?"

"When your tears gather in your eyes, they look like liquid fire, since they're reflecting your orange eye color." I take small steps to her and put my hand on her cheek, wiping any tears off her face. "You're so beautiful I can't even put it to words. And if I have to reassure you everyday, I will get sick of it I can bet that much, but I'll do it if you stay with me."

She isn't even looking at me. "I talked to Leo." She says. "And... it's terrible what they did to Leona, Cor. I don't think you understand."

Gem spends a total of five minutes explaining Leona and Leo's story.

A hearts stopping tale of how Leona is forced witch pain every time she thinks of the man she loves.

And I know why Gem is being so cautious now.

Mess up once, you mess it up forever.

I sit her back on the couch.

"Gem- I know what you're thinking, and it's an amazing idea. If this is what you want... then I'll wait for you. I'll wait for you forever if I have to." I press my lips against hers, savoring just this moment with her.

Her arms wrap around my neck, she doesn't break the kiss.

She tugs slightly on my hair and I smile in our kiss. "Are you pulling my hair?" I ask.

She bites her lower lip, smiling. "Quite possibly." She laughs, her musical song filling my apartment.

I'm staying with this girl forever. I don't care who's against it. They can take it up with us, face to face. I'll defend it until my last breath. Until the last star has died in the last galaxy.

She pulls me in for another kiss and I take it gladly.

I lean over her, and we slowly fall back on the couch.

Me forearms keep me raised above her and I silently thank the weights in my bedroom.

I wrap my arms under her and pick her up, letting her sit on my hips and we stand.

I make my way to the door and lock it, just in case.

I walk to my room, never breaking the kiss from Gem and slowly lay her on my bed.

"Gem," I whisper, looking deep into her eyes. "Stay the night?" I ask.

She nods and hooks her arms around me, making me hungry for her embrace.

Ah, no smut. Not writing it. Nope nope nope. Sorry, not one of those stories. 😇🤷‍♀️

And before you hate on it, they are seniors in high school and over half of your favorite t-shows/movies probably have it in it in high school just saying. Don't hate the author, hate society 🙄.

ON ANOTHER NOTE! My birthday is tomorrow, and I want to wish EVERYONE a happy birthday (Gemini or not).

Also, I know this doesn't add up, "I though she went home crying and Aria called her and then Aria said she was coming over and blah blah blah" is what your thinking, THAT WILL BE CLEARED UP IN THE NEXT CHAPTER, be patient.

And as of RIGHT NOW, Fire Heart's and Lawbreakers will be coming out in 3 days. Whoop whoop.

I just love this cover (and before you ask I make all my covers myself and if your interested I have a book on that. Although it's only updated like once every five years.)

I thought this was a trippy cover and it reminded me of that Taylor Swift music video "style" (love that song).
