I wake up, my hand is splayed across Scorpius's bare chest, as my legs curl into a fetal position next to him.

I know he's still asleep, and I smile at the thought. He's calm when he's awake, and he's peaceful when he sleeps.

I like the quiet, always have, always will.

I kiss the corner of his lips and nestle into his arm, loving the warmth he gives off.

"Morning." He says, and kisses my head.

I blush, even though I've been with Scorpius since high school, and I try to fall back asleep. He still has that original love. It's like I'm meeting him for the first time everyday.

But then I remember what day it is. "It's the end of the month, huh?" I ask, already starting to sit up.

Scorpius groans and sits up with me. "Here we go again." He mutters.

I hop out of bed and make my way to my phone, and pull up my contacts.

I dial up his number and already feel better when he picks up. "Hey, Petra. What's up?"

I smile. "Hey, Lucas... can you do me a favor?" I ask.

I hear Lucas shuffle around. "I already got them, Petra. Don't worry." He clears his throat before reading off his notes. "I only got a couple things on her... but they're big things, Petra. I think you should be worried."

I nod. "Okay, tell me."

Lucas sighs. "Petra... Gem, well... she's..."

"Just spit it out, Lucas!" I yell. He's never withheld information from me. I pay him a lot, even though he doesn't need the money he's already rich from acting and producing movies.

"She's almost kissed a boy named Cor Reynolds twice. I've watched her the past week and I've learned things. She's a rebel, Petra. She's not following rules." He sounds angry. "Reminds me of a certain someone."

I spin and look at Scorpius, as he shoves on a pair of black jeans. He was a rebel. When was he ever not in trouble?

"So she's falling in love? That's not bad." I say.

"WITH A SCORPIO! Petra, please tell me how that's not dangerous. That boy has more baggage than anyone I've ever met in my life. I've looked into records, Petra. Pulled some strings. Got access to info nobody has. She's not just a normal kid, Petra." Lucas starts off mad, but throughout his mini-speech he grows more concerned.

I gulp down a wad of spit and suck in a deep breath.

She's in love with a Scorpio. More than that, a Scorpio who's already in trouble by the sounds of it.

Two evils don't make a right, or whatever that saying is.

"What do you mean, she isn't a normal kid?" Gem is completely fine, I don't know what would be wrong with her.

"Do you remember Pierce Inter?" He asks randomly.

"Yes, but what does that have to do with Gem?" I ask.

Lucas must be driving because I hear horn honks. "He told me that Gem and the rest of her class, are the perfect class."

I shrug, although I realize he can't see me. "So... what is that?"

"Half her class will be killed, Petra. The only lives that guaranteed safe are the two Geminis. There's only ever been 13 Elders. The twelve signs, with the addition of the other Gemini to complete the set of twins. There's twenty four kids in her class only 13 of them can take over for the Elders." Lucas sniffles at the end, obviously crying. "I'm so sorry."

I wipe tears that run down my face. "I should be saying sorry. My child's safety is certain, yours isn't."

Lucas takes a shaky breath. "I'm taking her away when she comes to work with me. I'm hiding her. She's not dying. Leona means way to much. They'll do to Gem what they did to Leona. Or... they'll just kill the boy."

I end the phone call before either of us can say our goodbyes.

"Scorpius!" I yell, aware that he's leaving the house.

I hear him rush into the room and I look at him with my watery silver eyes.

He rushes to me and envelops me in a hug, knowing something's wrong.
