25. Aria's POV: Dad
*Warning there's multiple cuss words in this chapter— sorry if u can't handle it, you can just skip over them*
Sage waits with me in the office. I'm glad for the company.
"So, when was the last time you saw your dad?" Sage asks.
My eyes don't leave the door to the office. "Last year, when we took a field trip to The Elders Headquarters. He works there and when he saw me he— there was so much love in him."
My dad had walked up to me last year and just stared at me with misty eyes. He waited a moment before hugging me.
Then he gave me a huge smile, and left.
That was the last time I saw him.
"Look" Sage points to the window leading into the hallway.
My dad— wearing a fine black and white suit— opened the door into the office.
My heart raced faster than a humming bird's and my leg bounced up and down.
He looked the same.
His natural deep blue hair was slicked back with gel, and his silver eyes still entranced me.
He opened the door and saw me immediately. "Aria." He says softly.
He looks from me to Sage and then at Mr. Anderson's door.
Mr. Anderson comes out of his office and holds a firm hand out to my father.
"Ah, hello Mr. Inter." Mr. Anderson greets formally.
My dad shakes his hand, still seeming to be in a daze. "Just Pierce. Listen, I'm having a busy day so if we could get this over with that'd be great."
Of course. He has to leave soon.
"Of course, Pierce. Please take a seat." Mr. Anderson rolls his office chair into the main office.
"Please tell me why it matters that Aria has hit this young man." My dad comes straight out and blunt with it.
"Well sir, physical contact is popular with her. This is a very big deal considering—"
My dad cuts him off. "Considering she's almost graduating, and the young man she hit is a Sagittarius. Let me guess, she's forced to be with him and she hates him. I don't blame her for hitting him. If I was an anger filled teenage girl in her last year of high school, she's an Aries at that, I'd hit him too."
I know where I get my cockiness from.
"I'm not agreeing with your parenting right now. There should be some sort of punishment other than what we can give because—"
Again, my dad cuts him off. "Where's your son?"
My dad's the type of Pisces that isn't to be messed with.
"I don't see how this is relevant." Anderson chuckles lightly, nervously.
"Where is he?" My dad asks again.
"I don't know. I'm not supposed to know." Anderson shoots my dad a glare.
I'm smiling at Sage.
I've never seen Mr. Anderson this nervous in my entire life.
"That's bad parenting. Following some stupid rules because some faceless people told you too. Don't you care about your son at all?" My dad asks.
Anderson shakes his head. "Not a single bit. And plenty of other parents would agree with me."
My dad cocks his head to the side. "Really? Name one. I know the Osbourne family cares. The Reynolds family. I've met all of them. They all care. Except for you. Because you're a heartless bastard."
Damn dad.
Anderson takes a step back. "What you're implying is that every family has broken the law. Aria has exceeded the expected amount of times in this office for physical abuse. The handbook says that she is to be expelled. That's the law."
My heart stops beating altogether.
Expelled? Are you kidding me?
My eyes meet Sage's and he looks just as panicked as me.
Expelled. You get kicked out of school, never to return. And never to be heard of again. You get cut off. Fired. Killed. Murdered.
You get strapped to a chair, and executed. You get expelled.
"Nothing. I'm implying nothing. I'm saying it straight out. There's no double meaning. Fuck you and your Elder rules. The rules never state that we can't care about our children, now do they? It's your own sick morals keeping you from caring. If you blame my daughter for one more thing you think she screwed up on, I swear to the Elders I will find you and get you fired. I know some secrets of yours, Mr. Anderson. Try and expel my daughter." My dad leans forward in Anderson's face. "I fucking dare you."
Mr. Anderson sucks in a breath. "But the law—"
My dad swings a hand around and hits Principal Anderson square in the jaw.
In the same moment, my dad's hair changes from the deep blue Pisces color, to the bleach blonde Aries color.
Anderson looks up with wide eyes. "You're— you're— you're a— consultant." Anderson's mouth is bleeding and his speech is slurred.
I'm shocked as well. I knew the Elders went to him for advice, but I figured it was just advice.
No, my dad's a consultant. There's only ever one at a time. They can change their Zodiac in helps of the Elders understanding each one more.
"Yeah, I don't appreciate how you're treating my daughter. Accuse her of one more thing and I'll personally see to it that you're expelled." My dad straightens out his suit and his eyes turn into a deep brown— almost black— as he looks at me.
His hair is the color of Cor's, dark brown.
"Aria. I love you so so much. But please, for your sake and mine, don't get in any more trouble. I can only threaten him for so long before eventually he grows more uncaring then he already is, and gets the both of you killed."
My dad places two hands on my shoulders and kisses my forehead. "And that boy is smiling. Why is he smiling? How hard did you hit him?"
I shrug, feeling proud of myself. "Pretty hard. But he told me too, so..." I trail off not wanting to get into more trouble then I already am.
"Smart boy. He got you to see me, and for that I'm eternally grateful." My dad winks at Sage. "I'll see you at graduation. Goodbye, Aria."
He brings me into a tight hug and leaves the class.
I look at Anderson who has grabbed an ice pack. "What are you two looking at? Go home!" He yells.
My dad beats on the glass window from the hallway. "I'm watching you, Anderson!"
Anderson nods and sulks into his office.
I look at Sage and we both burst out laughing.
